Happy Panda

Went today for the first and probably last time. I was really craving Chinese food and actually went to the Blossom Tea House first. After waiting for someone to come out from the kitchen for 5 minutes I decided to walk around the corner to Happy Panda. That was 3 o’clock, it’s now 8:30 and my stomach still isn’t right. My favorite entrée is Kung Pao Chicken and Happy Panda’s was very sub par. Like all of the food, it was luke warm, tasted like it had been sitting for a while and the veggies had no crunch. My second entrée was the jalapeño chicken which was basically like popcorn chicken with a subtle jalapeño taste. This was definitely the better of the two entrees and might’ve been really good if it was fresh… but unfortunately it fell victim to the pitfalls previously listed. Rounding out my plate: Chow mien — not bad, rice — way below average.
Good News: They pack a ton of food in your tray. Enough for a late night snack.
Bad News: I tossed it. So much for the late night snack.

If you like Chinese food buffets this may be a step up for you. If not, definitely Diet.

Yo if you guys want grade A Chinese food half the price of Panda Express with better quality and better quantity come to this place. The orange chicken was so saucy yum! The noodles were marinated well but had a but if a weird after taste but still tasty. Definitely my new favorite Chinese place!!!

This was seriously the BEST Chinese food I had in 5 years! The chow mien is amazing, good flavor and not too greasy. I had the Kung Pao Chicken and Orange chicken too. I usually don’t get Orange chicken because I hate it but this orange chicken looked so good I had to try it. I loved it?! It was very very good not so much breading and the chicken chunks were HUGE. The Kung Pao was delicious too and the servings were generous. Basically a very good experience, they should however have more than one person manning the front, it got really busy and this poor guy was rushing to get everyone served. He maintained a good attitude throughout tho.

After these new owners took over this place i got to say is the best Chinese food place in town

Tried happy panda for the first time today and it was amazing. Teriyaki sauce was a little salty but nonetheless it was good not to mention its a little cheaper than panda and they give you big portions !

I’ve been to this place for years and the food is good. Recently looks like they make some changes even maybe new management. Since the change my boyfriend & I love this place!!! The chow mein is so good lots of flavor compared to other fast food chinese places and the Wonton soup is a must to try! GREAT PRICES & QUANTITY! Just wish they never took out the sweet & sour chicken! Please bring it back!

Its not panda express but its a good alternative to have here in town… i like their combos and authentic Chinese options… i would give 5 stars if they had more veggie options.

Great food, friendly staff. Ingredients fresh and cooked daily. I’d suggest shrimp fried rice or BBQ pork and teriyaki chicken. Chow mein is great

I’m sad that it wasn’t like any of these good. It was around 8 o’clock, no one in the place. The lady suggested the wings and they were awful, old and over cooked. Then we also tried the teriyaki chicken and that was just as bad. I think they should change out the dishes that haven’t been ordered most the day so they are fresh and not old and gross. I’ll never come back here at all.

I prefer this to the tasty panda across the street, but its still not the place to go in Ventura unless your stuck in east Ventura like i was, theirs not much to choose from here. The staff is always super nice and the price and portions are worth it for sure. Orange chicken is always fresh here.

The most amazing food. I’ve been gone for 2 years and this is the first place I had to eat at on my visit back. Service is wonderful and friendly and food is delicious.

This place is the bomb Chinese food if you’re looking for good sweet sour chicken beef and broccoli or spicy chicken wings this is place! The prices are low and the portions are huge! Mr lee rocks!

Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way. They have extra charges on everything. Was not good at all.

Solid place to eat, better than the chain Chinese fast food. I come once a week for the BBQ pork.

Cheap fast food under 7 bucks for 1−2−3 item combo. Food lacks flavor but it’s a clean place. I tried the broccoli beef and teriyaki chicken with fried rice and noodles. Chicken had a lot of fat and the sauce was okay. The beef was good but needed some more flavor. This place still charges for refills on drinks… who still does that?! Anyway it’s not okay with me that some places still charge for refills. Other than that it’s a place to grab a quick bite.

Food was pretty low quality and did not taste good at all. I got there just before noon so everything was as fresh as it was going to get. Clean and quick service but I need more than that. Not for me.

I really dont care about the stars this restaurant has here because if u ever try the spicy wings there unique and have really great taste I love that the food is consistently good the staff is really friendly and the soups are made fresh when you order

all of thier food contains a lot of msg! and they will and cannot modify any of thier dishes. disappointing to say the least. also had no public restroom! could not understand english very well. never even smiled or greeted us. just said «wut u want!?» if you want a typical chinese fast food take out place that will kill your brain cells and make you feel like crap after you eat it this is your place!
