…my gf loves city buffet but to me its like the red-​headed step child of buffets… i actually prefer fuji buffet over city… idk where to start… i guess the good thing is that theyre consistent… its rundown inside and out… everything just looks how it tastes ‘very blah’… when we came here a couple of weeks ago i actually thought that they closed the place down because it was in the middle of the afternoon on a weekend… not that many cars in the parking lot and you know the exterior doesnt do city buffet any favors… for $ 15-​$ 16 i would suggest any other establishment than city… really… take ‘the pepsi challenge’ draw a restaurant out a hat and i guarantee that the restaurant you draw is better…

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! It’s disgusting, dirty, full of creeps just staring at you when you walk past them!
Went to this place yesterday and it will be my last! Food tasted like crap expect the donuts lol but other than that every was gross! Let me say their drinks! Omg! When my bfs sister was looking in her cup of water she noticed DIRT in it! So i look in mine and there i saw it! Didn’t even realize! I wanted to barf!
Their restrooms were also gross and dirty. Customer service was ok. But I will never come back after that day.

Like reheated food? This is the spot for you! Perhaps I got there at a bad time (12:00pm) or a bad day (Monday) because the greeting at the front was cold but not as cold as the food. It was my first and it’s safe to say the last time I eat here. I mean not to offend those who enjoy eating there or work there but you sure get the $ 10 worth of food and service. At least I enjoyed the coke, but then again that does taste better cold… oh boy

It’s a Chinese buffet in South Oxnard. You’re going to get what you pay for.
They have a wide selection of foods but some of them don’t look that fresh. I bit into a chicken nugget and it tasted like it was hours old.
But it’s cheap so eat as much as you can. I’ve never gotten sick eating here.

It is sad, when it first opened it was really good. Now the place is dirty the food is flavorless or just down right gross. The service is okay even if you get the feeling the servers wished either you or they stayed home. It is like the owners or managers just don’t care anymore.

The only reason this is not the worst Chinese buffet I have been to is because I have only seen one worse. Very dirty. Lots of empty pans on the buffet. There ARE a few seafood selections, but not much else to pick from. Orange chicken not good. Beef and broccoli average at best. I was told the duck was good. Not coming back.

I love this place, the best all you can eat Chinese food in the whole Ventura county area. My favorite is the stuffed Won tons, however they do need to remodel the whole place especially the bathrooms. Other than that the food is fresh and delicious.

This was a nice place to eat simple nothing fancy. It was all you can eat seafood and you can’t go wrong for the price. The staff was nice and friendly and very attentive didn’t have to wait for drinks which is nice. I enjoyed the variety they had to offer it’s a big place so next time we can bring everyone

When you walk to the door the place seems unorganized and unsanitary but not caring for the love of food and It was a delicious. Yes, it’s very unorganized, next to my table are cleaning supplies and a lot of random stuff. The workers clean randomly in top of food areas, tables, floors. Another thing that bugged us was the lady that serves your drinks is also the janitor. RATHER than all that, food is fantastic:) service is ok:)

First off this place is so bomb, the food is really good and they have a lot of selections from sushi to onions rings to donuts
Second the price is Almost to good to pass up
Third the restaurant looks dark inside so it looks iffy :/​
The locations seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere but that’s ok ^-^
The restaurant is quiet, the staff is really nice and they wait on you hand and foot (lol) I don’t understand how people would give this place such low ratings the restaurant is really clean.

Best Chinese buffett in the Tri-​city county. My family loves a fresh buffet with variety but, most inexpensive chinese buffets have neither. This one is different. It’s a drive across town for me but, it was worth it. Plenty of seafood, sushi, and only $ 10 a person. The crab legs were a good size and not salty. Plenty of seating in the restaurant and parking outside. Far enough away from Ventura that no one can see my pants unzipped when I leave.

While eating last night for dinner around 7:10 pm this lady is already start cleaning while theres more customer. She was cleaning by the food and the smell of clorox was disgusting. i was going back to get some more food i lost my appetite right away as soon i smell that clorox. Oh also if you dnt ask for more crab legs they wont fill it up for you. very bad service please be aware on this buffet.

Went here today after a funeral, and the experience was less than satisfactory. The facility is a mess! It’s dirty everywhere, and it has one of those bathrooms where I actually have to hold my breath going in. The servers are nice people, but they had a bad habit of yelling at each other in a foreign language, obnoxiously loud for everyone to hear. The food was decent; there is a good variety of different foods to choose from. This time though, the ice cream machine wasn’t working… What a shame. Lastly, it did take them some time to refill certain foods. I waited a long time for orange chicken.
Anyway, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place for anyone. It’s dirty, the service is decent, and the food isn’t worth it.

Dirty, dirty, dirty… and not in a good way at all.
You can usually judge a restaurant’s overall cleanliness by setting foot in their restrooms… Yeah, I didn’t want to spend a moment longer in that restroom than I had to do my business and get out. Gross.
The whole place just has a grimy, unkempt feel to it… like it needs to be gutted and remodeled and just cleaned from stem to stern, top to bottom.
The food is ok… as long as you stick to the fried stuff. Their fryolator definitely does a good job with their shrimp, wontons, and other fried goodness– and hopefully kills any bugs that may be floating around with the aforementioned slip in housekeeping.
Definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

This buffet is good for the family, if seafood is your thing. They provide a goodly selection of the most popular seafood dishes prepared several ways. Dessert and fresh fruit is modest but adequate. Adult price tag averages around $ 12. See for yourself.

Liu City is not a fancy establishment and doesn’t purport to be. It is a buffet for families that love seafood. Their stirred fried shrimp is excellent and so are the other seafood items. BBQ Spare ribs are tasty, moist and delicious. They also have some kid’s favorites. The staff are polite and attentive. Enjoy and don’t be stingy… leave a good tip.

Tonight, City Buffet has downgraded by losing a star due to unsanitary conditions and poor maintenance of food.
It’s been countless times when the employees sweep nearby customers who are still eating their food :(that just means we’re eating more dust in the already stale food that has been out.
I really like cold shrimp with cocktail sauce at buffets in general and here, the amount of shrimp served was almost empty and I was hoping they would restock it. However, they didn’t refill the shrimp and the shrimp had minimal ice cubes in the tray leaving the shrimp out to warm temperatures :(not a way to serve shrimp.
It was an A-​OK buffet but now it’s barely decent.

Yup, I’m a fan!
After eating here I am surprised this place has only three stars. Maybe it runs hot and cold. It definitely was ‘hot’ when we were there. Very nice presentation. Most of the items were hot and fresh. Very good variety. Seven bucks for lunch (ends at 3:30 pm) ten bucks for dinner (and all day Sunday. We were there about 4 pm. so they had the dinner items out on the buffet. They had several items for dessert including soft serve ice cream.
Server was very attentive and friendly. Only gripe with the place… it
needs NEW CARPET! …carpet is stained, dirty and torn. According to one of the other reviews this place used to be a Marie Callender’s.
I would return…
