A gem here in Oxnard that serves good shrimp tostadas, ceviche and shrimp cocktails. The seafood is delicious here. The seafood is cleaned well, the portions are generous, and you won’t leave hungry or dissatisfied! Definitely give it a taste!

I have been coming here since I was a child, in fact it was my favorite restaurant in ox but yesterday I attended & got the worst service ever. A new young waitress was so rude 2 me, even mimicked my Spanish as if she did not understand me. Well, I’ve never had that issue with my Spanish but whatever. She brought my husbands beer without the Michelada he order so by the time she brought the other half, well the beer was almost gone.
She didn’t check in with us so when I asked, she was like «es todo? Es todo?» Like if she was bothered. Idk what happened but I didn’t not enjoy my meal. After spending 80bucks, u want 2 enjoy ur meal but she wouldn’t ease up or even smile. It was sad that my kids had 2 sit through that poor display of service, never have I ever been so upset. We didn’t leave her a tip & she seemed so surprised by that, I was surprise she didn’t come after me & apologize. I regret not speaking 2 the manager b4 I let

Went here yesterday with my boyfriend after taking a ride up north.
It was around 11:45 am and we were craving seafood. The place had a few customers enjoying their food and they have 3 TVs on the wall playing movies which some people like and I’m sure they probably play games when they are on. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and asked for out drink. They brought a basket of chips and salsa. A good start already. A few minutes after our drinks were brought we were asked for our food choices. I ordered a campechana (shrimp and octopus cocktail) my boyfriend got the same and we shared a dozen oysters and I was craving octopus on the grill in a taco. Since the taco wasn’t on the menu I asked if they can make it and the waitress didn’t even hesitate and said sure!
Or food was brought right away. As soon as she brought my taco I couldn’t wait. It was either good or bad. Sometimes octopus isn’t cooked correctly… Either its hard and rubbery or soft and delicious. When I took my first bite it was pure LOVE! I loved it! It was amazing!
Our drinks were filled right away and the waitress walked by twice to see if all was ok. I like this place already.
The only thing I have to complain about was 2 oysters that were not fresh. I have a keen taste for these suckers and you can immediately tell when not good the moment it touches your tongue. This can happen in any place. I’m just glad I don’t eat them. :)
We got all that food for about $ 70. My bf had a few beers and I just stuck with the fabulous coke!
I’m coming back for those off the menu octopus tacos. YUM!!!

Went in today hadn’t been there in 8 years food is still good sat down we were served chips with salsa I ordered camarones ala Diabla with rice n beans my friend ordered filet empanizado camarones we’re good and spicy friend said his filet was good no complaints on the food service was average only 2 waitress’s and one cook they seemed to be overwhelmed could have at least had one more employee to take orders over the phone and run register so place could run smoother

Have always liked this place… but today they really sucked… make sure to check your order when buying oysters for take out cause they count really tiny ones as one. so unfair.

I just love their tacos de azada estilo Baja with salsa diabla!!! don’t judge the book by its cover! The servers are great! Un Saludos para Martha, Vero and the beautiful Xochitl!

My husband and I go all the time. We always have great service and the staff is very friendly. The seafood is great but I also agree with another review that didn’t like their regular food so hence the name of the restaurant. I would highly recommend their 7 mares and the aguachiles.

The seafood is fresh good service but the off seafood menu is very dull so 3 stars is appropriate

I eat here anytime I crave seafood And they always come through on the food and with way reasonable prices. I even tried to visit another restaurant in the area (simply because it was closer and the hubby didn’t want to drive to the other side of town) that charged way too much and the food was not to par. Won’t make that mistake again. This place has me for life.

I usually go to this restaurant for Micheladas only, but the food is still good. I like to order the coctel de camaron. The food is good, the restaurant gets packed during the weekends.

We’ve past this Mexican mariscos place plenty of times but gave it no thought. This time we went in and, upon entering, we liked the lay out. The courteous Seniorita immediately brought over salsa & chips. It took us a few minutes to go over their menu. Since it was getting late we asked for the shrimp & octopus cocktails. Gr8! Next time I’ll b more adventurous.

Incredible seafood! The service was spot on, and the restaurant was very well kept. I had the shrimp cocktail and a Tecate Michelada, both of which were awesome!

First time here right off the back it’s not a good area but don’t be quick to judge on that. Noise level is LOUD (screaming & crying kids) not a bother as we have one child, but probably would be of your on a date. Waiters are nice and speak more Spanish than English but can understand you as we spoke in both languages. Breaded Shrimp was amazing!!! Fish tacos amazing!!! BUT… Rice & beans are bland with no flavor! A bit pricey but definitely a place to try!

There are very few places that have ceviche the way I like it and this is one of those places. If you enjoy lemony ceviche and taste delish! You must try. The portion in big. I always order one and split it with my better half. Add some tapatio and YUM!
The pork chops are delicious as well. Cooked well and rice beans, salad and gucamole are yumm!
Enchiladas are another one of my better half’s favorite.
I like this place a lot. Very authentic mexican food.

I come here for 2 things, and those 2 things are shrimp cocktails and their micheladas. Im not saying that anything else isn’t good but i have never been disappointed with my my 2 favorite things. Their shrimp cocktails are extremely tasty and they are extremely generous with the shrimp portions. Now their micheladas are extremely good and you cant beat the price. Ive had them at several restaurants including Cabo, El Dorado, El Chilito, Lo Mejor de Jalisco and El Pescador to name a few but this one is my favorite by far! Did i mention they are only 5.50? This review is solely based on the micheladas and shrimp cocktails :)

Good food, but I remember this place being on the news when I was a child. I’m sure the chef was fired for scratching his arse and the proceeding to touch the food. my parents haven’t let me go to this place ever since. I go to the Mexican restaurant in the plaza instead.

I’m a veggie so i dont eat most of the menu, my dad loves it. I really enjoy the bean and rice burritos. i love a good huge burrito and they deliver. However after i eat here i uh have to use the bathroom. Doesnt bother me none :)

So I decided on my birthday that I would satisfy a craving for some oysters and whole fried fish… I figured Oxnard should deliver with a good Mariscos place, and we decided on Marisco Pulpo.
The prices are good. 12 $ for 12 oysters is great, and the oysters were very good. Second we had a a fish and a shrimp ceviche. Both of these were also good and were really huge portion-​wise.
As for the main course, I had the whole fried tilapia. I indended to order the whole fried tilapia with the garlic sauce, but I think the language barrier may have hindered that attempt and I ended up with a plain deep fried fish. The fish was fine, I had me heard set on snapper, but all they serve is tilapia. It was a bit overcooked but what you’d expect. The beans and rice were a real let-​down. Really bland refried beans with melted cheese and rice that you can tell had been sitting around and had lost its «fluff». Also, another thumbs down for non-​homemade tortillas.
Overall, the servers were friendly and the food was decent, however I’m holding out hope that there’s a much better mariscos place lurking somewhere in Oxnard.

The food here is soooo good! Garlic shrimp was full of flavor, and the carne asada steak was cooked just right. Huge portions, good beer! Glad I listened to Unilocalers when visiting Oxnard! Not the fanciest but its yummers!
