WaBa Grill

I have been to other wabas down south and this waba does not compare. It is almost like a completely different place. The place is kinda run down and grungy. Waba is for ore healthy eating and it just doesn’t feel clean and healthy at this location. I really really enjoy waba, but this location is just not good. I have tried steak, chicken & shrimp. The steak basically taste like beef jerkey. It’s not tough it is more on the tender side. Seems like a good choice of meet for some tacos or something like that. Also no fat in the steak. The chicken was not as good as I’ve had at other wabas. A little chunky and does not have that crisp charred grilled flavor that I have had before many other times at other locations. The shrimp just sucked. It tasted very fishy and was just not good. Fish aroma fishy taste, I would absolutely not get shrimp here again. This review is for this specific location. And service is a little dry, I could see how some other reviewers may have run into attitude problems. I hint I will just stick to going to a sushi house for my teriyaki fix.

Food was good but the service was bad. The lady at the counter took my order and gave it to someone else. The person who incorrect took my plate put sauce on my order. Once the lady at the register figured out it was my plate she told the customer to give it to me since it was for my order. I didn’t want the plate after someone else put sauce on it. I ordered my item specifically without sauce. I informed the lady that I didn’t want the plate with the sauce. She aggressively explained that it didn’t make a difference and that I am being picky. Another co-​worker grabbed the plate and rudely pointed the plate to me and tried to hand it off to me. I restated that I didn’t want the plate and would require a new order or my refund. I got my order remade but I will not be coming back. Customers shouldn’t have to adjust and be content with the mistakes that the workers make. We all make mistakes I get that. Just don’t try and dupe me into getting a plate I don’t want.

Pretty solid food… I think the price is what keeps me from going back. A little high for what it is but none the less it can be tasty. A little skimpy with the portions. Wasn’t a fan of the beef, kinda fatty and all I tasted was the sauce. Chicken much better. Simple menu and fairly quick… But if you do go here don’t expect much from the customer experience. They want you in and out…

Ordered a chicken veggie bowl, got a bowl of cabbage with 4 small pieces of chicken! Not worth it!

I got a salmon veggie bowl and was very happy with the portion size. It took a little while to get my order, but the fish was cooked just right.

Good & tasty grilled chicken, steak or salmon bowl or dinner plate. Close to fwy and accessible location. Small location and they busy but food is good & healthy. Best place after a great workout.

The steak is pretty fatty, but the chicken is decent. The veggies are good. The music they play is horrible. The people are not very friendly and they only provide one small napkin. You have to ask for another. Portions are not huge.

Had the teriyaki chicken meal thing with a soft drink, it was alright, fresh, tasty n fast friendly service, it gets the job done. I like that its near by in and close to work.

I paid $ 8 for a wide but incredibly SHALLOW chicken/​rice/​veggie bowl. Where is the rest of my fooooood?! Give me the food portion that all of the other Wabas give! But really, they changed the bowl sizes here. It is not consistent with other Waba grills. Also, they charge extra to substitute white for brown rice, which is not consistent with other Waba Grills either.
Food itself was meh. I was given 3 little heads of broccoli as my «vegetable portion». Lol. I’m obviously bitter about my portion size. :”(
Don’t dooooo iiiitttt! Drive a little further and go to a different Waba.

Food is decent but the customer service is terrible. It’s very apparent the male owner doesn’t know what customer service is. He should get out of the business. I will say the wife is nice. But I can’t stand the guy owner. Literally ever time I go in its the same story. I feel bad for him

Food is good! They have half bowls or regular plates. The brown rice option is awesome! I always get brown rice. Fast service and another reason I always like going there. Definitely recommend this place.

Owner and cashier is rude. I Asked for brown rice and she didn’t enter it correctly. When I asked her to correct my order she said there was a price difference and would not run my card for $.80 difference… She protested, until I asked for a refund and then made a snide comment about «next time I come in»…sorry there won’t be a next time.
Side note she put the incorrect rice back in the steamer after it was already covered with the chicken juices and sauce. Hmmm. Weird.

I want to give 5 stars. The star I take away is only because they are currently based in the Los Angeles area with over 100 locations you would think they would branch out farther. To say I love the food here is an understatement. I crave the freshly prepared beef bowl with extra fresh scallions and that sauce! I could cry that I have to travel so far! So please Waba Grill at least consider the central coast in your next location.

The most awesome food. I’ve really missed it since moving to Michigan… Fresh ingredients and a wonderful and healthy alternative to fast food. Boxed perfectly to take home or dine in. I love being able to walk in and within minutes I’m walking out with an amazing meal.

Food is great but the owner just stole 10 $ from me.
I paid for a meal and he gives me the change. As I was counting the money when I was approaching the table. I counted 10 $ missing therfore I asked him where the 10 $ is. He said he gave it all and gave all the money. TLDR: owner is untrustworthy

Big fan of Waba but this is a terrible location. I always order double meat half and half bowls and the owner literally served
me the normal portion. Even when I asked be lied and said it was double meat when it was half of what I normally get for 11 dollars. Shame on him for trying to cheat his customers. I hope this location closes.

Food is yummy and the service was efficient and friendly. I was greeted with a warm smile and the food was fresh and came out fast.
I don’t know why people say the owners are unfriendly because I had very good service and food.

I can’t believe I’m doing this to one of my favorite spots & it has absolutely nothing to do with the food. This is solely based on one incident. If they didn’t pull a fast move like this they would of easily got 4 Afros from me. When a customer ask for an orange wedge and you say no. Then the customer says they will gladly pay you for the orange wedge and you still say, «no it only comes with the plate not the bowl» you need to reevaluate what’s more important to your business. Either one small orange wedge I was willing to pay for, or a satisfied customer who supported your business. Looks like they chose the orange wedge so I probably won’t be coming back to this Waba Grill again. They definitely need to take notes on good customer service from the Tarzana location.

I’ve been going to the Thai/​Chinese place just a few suites away for as long as I remember. My sister and I finally decided to give this spot a chance after passing by it numerous times on our way home.
My sister got the chicken bowl and I got the chicken/​beef plate.
I loved what I got. Didn’t finish all the rice. I feel like they put a ton with the order, but that’s nothing to complain about. It was nice to have a small side salad with the meal.
The meat definitely tastes different, in a good way. I do like the way it’s prepared.
Also appreciate how clean the place was and how nice the staff was.
I will definitely come back and give the salmon a try.
