Once again you have to give all your reviews at least 1 * its not even worth 1 star! The woman behind the counter stole the money! I pay for milk with$ 2.00 if she just works there she’s a thief! Because she didn’t ring up the item. she gave me, it was 199 I gave her $ 2 she gave me a penny out of them an ashtray. and put the money in her pocket as I was leaving. If she’s the owner she’s cheating the state out of tax and income for the state. I plan on reporting it to Washington State’s version of Franchise Tax Board, like we have in California. it’s a dump go someplace else!

We were staying at the state park and had packed along almost everything we’d needed… «almost.» This is an adequate convenience store for what you need with a pretty good selection of beverages, adult and otherwise. The staff was friendly and the store was clean.

I’m not sure why this little town has two«corner groceries» in it. I went in here a couple of times for goodies with the kids and tried to figure out what differentiates them. From what I could see, the shop across the street offers more. Perhaps it’s a locals thing, you just go to this store for X and to the other for Y. Here’s my theory: this store was originally run by by a close knit family where everyone worked in the shop. At the passing of the parents, the oldest inherited full rights to the store. Feeling slighted, and not willing to work for his brother, the younger son went off to college. theory that this store was co-run by a family. Following college, and on a trip oversees, the younger brother met his soul mate. In 1986 they were quickly married and visited the brother’s family back in Pacific Beach. The families instantly clashed and the new bride was furious. She would convince her husband to forego job offers from a new company called Oracle and instead renovate the gas station across the street to sell everything the older brother sold, and more, including take-out teriyaki. But the townspeople shunned the newlyweds and remained faithful to the D&K, the store that had faithfully been serving them thru thick and thin. This is why both stores are still in business. Locals will only shop at the D&K while tourists stop across the street for gas and head inside the shop for whatever else they need.

There are two mini-marts on Main Street in Pacific Beach and this is the smaller one. They have a slightly different selection than the one across the road, and they don’t sell teriyaki. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t purchase foods made on site, but already packaged goods and libations are just fine. D & K does have a strange display case up front, featuring some sad, well-worn stuffed animals and other memorabilia(junk?) that is not for sale, but adds to the general ambiance of the joint. The service is super friendly and upbeat and they had almond, soy and rice milk, which the other store did NOT. It’s still better to bring your groceries from Aberdeen or from home, but in a pinch, they’ve got you covered. Don’t discount this shop on looks, they just might surprise you.

Has everything you need for a quick stop… my husband and I came here for ice, diet coke, and beer. Good prices… they seem to have everything you might have«forgotten». Firewood, paper towels… Oh and if you want to rent VHS tapes this is your place to go. Cashier lady was nice.
