Fantastic bakery! I got a loaf of bread there that was out of this world! The owner Jim is so friendly and nice. They had a lot of nice pastries, Keisha’s, croissant, bread and teas. Also the most amazing selection of those coffee flavored drinks! I can’t believe it I never seen so many bottles of different flavored syrups. So if you’re into that this is the place to go really nice ambience. Also they make great sandwiches!

I wouldn’t say it was the best cinnamon roll I’d ever had, but it was very very good. The gentleman doing the baking and running the counter was very kind too. The cinnamon rolls weren’t ready at the time but he said he’d hold three back for me and the kids to come back and get in an hour and a half and he was true to his word. Very good stuff.

Went yesterday since they would be closed today. Went early at 0930 to secure the cinnamon rolls. Got the last 2. Not sure what the hype is all about. Maybe it was just an off day… Maybe not. Also tried to order biscuits and gravy and the man behind the counter said he was out of gravy??? What you opened at 0800 and only have 2 cinnamon rolls left and the gravy is all out already??? Ok maybe an off day. So I read on here that the quiche was good. So I tried to order the veggie quiche. I ask what kinds of veggies are in the quiche. The guy says I don’t know I didn’t make it. Wrong answer. No tip for you. So I ordered the sausage quiche since he knew there was sausage and asparagus in it. Then I wanted to get plain white milk for the cin rolls but all they had in the cooler was chocolate. I ask if he had plain milk and the guy says in a condescending tone, what’s that. At that point I should have said plain white milk @$$ho!e. Probably was the same guy that made the comment about the clams… I hope it was just a case of an off day… But really I could not see any of the hype.

I stopped in during a razor clam opening because I had heard great things about the cinnamon rolls. The grey bearded man behind the counter was friendly and when I asked if the chowder he was eating was from local clams, he said, ‘no they’re canned, but I supposed I could get some clams from the local drunken Indian on the corner’. Wow, racism alive and well at Emily’s

Cinnamon rolls are awesome! $ 8 a slice quiche… meh. The staff was kind of rude taking our order. Will probably not be back because of that.

The best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had, hands down. If you find yourself in Pacific Beach, do yourself a favor and head to Emily’s.

After reading the reviews, I was so looking forward to trying these infamous cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately I chose to sleep late this morning and they had sold out… :( We ended up having their sausage quiche and biscuits and gravy. The quiche was good, just good. The bonus was the quiche came with fresh croisants. The croisants were served straight out of the oven. They were flakey and so buttery. The biscuits and gravy were offered with one or two biscuits. We were warned the biscuits were large. We were glad we took the advice and only ordered one. The biscuit covered the covered most of an 8″ plate. The biscuit was very light and fluffy. Overall, breakfast was amazing. The owner, Peter, gave me a couple of pieces advice to get my hands on those cinnamon rolls. First would be to line up at the outside door before opening at 8 am. Or if you prefer to sleep in a little later, you can place an order for your cinnamon rolls the day before and get them up after the rush.

Such a cute little place. The owner was as sweet as the hot chocolate. The tomato bacon quiche was incredibly fluffy and stuffed with cheese and bacon. What a great little find«on the edge of existence» as the owner so aptly called pacific beach.

I had pretty high expectations for the cinnamon role based on others reviews. I definitely found them lacking. The weren’t that large and didn’t seem special in any way. In fact, it was warmed up in a microwave. Though I can’t really expect much from this tiny village. The main reason I’m giving it even 3 stars was that the owner was very friendly and welcoming.

The cinnamon rolls are delicious. They are delicate and soft. They are not overly sweet either. Perfect balance of roll and icing.

What an special gem in Pacific Beach. Excellent home cooked, made from scratch food. My husband and I stopped for lunch and had scrumptious croissant sandwiches with homemade potato salad. The owner made our sandwiches and brought them out and said he added a slice of bacon to each sandwich. Yummy bonus! The next morning my husband went early to get a cinnamon roll and biscuit & gravy as a carry out order. Did not disappoint, absolutely delicious! ! Owner mentioned he had games and books and said people can stay awhile. In the winter, I am sure it is a cozy place to drink their gourmet coffee or tea, eat a cinnamon roll and enjoy a scrabble game or read a book. Thank you for your hospitality, we will be back! Just finished my cinnamon roll and it was one if the best rolls I’ve ever had. It was light and oh so delicious with a not overly sweet frosting that was just the perfect balance in a cinnamon roll. It was a very friendly and warm service that made us feel right at home. I would go there again and again!

Two words — Cinnamon Roll! Wow! So good we went and bought more the next day! Very light, fresh and flaky. And big too — 6 big rectangle«rolls» to a 9×13 sheet pan! Go in the morning and get one straight from the oven — it’s the best. Definitely coming here again next time we’re in town.

Came into a confection shop looking for lunch and we were not disappointed! Deluxe flatbread pizza, turkey and provalone croissant, and a ham and cheese quiche later, we had room between the three of us for only a slice of decadent carmel chocolate bundt cake. No room for orange cream fudge, unfortunately.

If you want an honest-to-goodness, baked-from-scratch cinnamon roll in Pacific Beach, Emily’s Confection is your place. Hands down. And don’t expect a measly roll. It’s a big slice of perfectly baked pastry with just the right amount of cinnamon, sugar and icing. Soft, flaky and infused with so much love and goodness that you can taste in every bite. Enjoy a cuppa with your slice of heaven, kick back, and just feel the weight of the world melt away from your shoulders as you make light conversation with Rudy, the baking genius behind the pastries. Love Emily’s Confectionery and I already miss it dearly.
