Came here for the first time with my wife after hearing so many great things. We came for lunch, which was pretty good but nothing over the top. We will be back for breakfast soon, everyone in the restaurant was ordering breakfast during lunch and from what I understand it’s for good reason.

What a great place! Have been going here for years — the owners/staff are really friendly and the food is always great(their breakfasts are especially good) Highly recommended!

Food is delicious and service is great. I’ve been to several top rated pancake houses in the area and Red Apple is the winner. Big portion size and fresh ingredients. Will definitely go there again!

Ate here late on a late Sunday morning and the place was packed. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Very crowded small space to wait and the hostess that was trying to manage things and seat people was loud and panicky. Got seated and it took another 10 minutes for a waitress to even greet us. We asked for coffee and placed our orders at the same time. Waitress said she’d be back with the coffee, but she never did come back with it! Our food came out quickly by another waitress and we told her we never got our coffee. She immediately sprang into action and got it for us. Our original waitress did apologize for that. She then checked on us several times throughout the meal and also refilled our coffee. We both had the Denver omelette, hash browns, and pancakes. The food was delicious — one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had; just oozing with cheese. Not greasy. Hash browns were perfect, being crisp on the outside but not burnt. Pancakes were good, but nothing outstanding. Coffee was mediocre. I recommend this place for the food, but be prepared to wait for a table and dine in a crowded, slightly noisy, outdated decorated establishment.

Delicious lemon ricotta pancakes and VERYFAST service. Hubby and I came in on a Saturday morning, and there was no need to wait! But for a breakfast place, the windows are closed, so artificial lights are on. I want to see natural sunlight for breakfast!

I’ve been here a few times. This place makes me happy. I must admit I’ve only ever ordered the quiche because where else can you find quiche on the daily menu? It comes with shredded hash browns and fresh fruit. The staff has never been anything but lovely even when I asked to see a certain. sporting event and they had to figure out how to get it on their TV.

I am NOT a morning person, much less a daily breakfast eater — unless of course its breakfast in the afternoon(or evening). Sure, I’ll occasionally drag myself out of bed to meet up with overly perky, energetic & highly annoying«morning» people from time to time… Why? cause I do LOVE breakfast foods(and people)… More savory than sweet to be honest and Red Apple delivers to ALL who crave BOTH. I’m a huge fan of this place for so many reasons… they serve an extensive variety of breakfast & lunch items that just tastes fresh and home made. I’ve dined in & ordered carry-out countless times. The restaurant is located on Plum Grove, and you enter via parking lot(located in front of entrance), which can fill up really quick, especially on weekends. I wouldn’t have noticed this place, had other’s who worked in the area not mentioned it… I imagine its easy to miss, as I’ve drove past it many times in the past. Some favorites — The oven baked omelets. DELICIOUS. Cooked to perfection. I usually get «My Big Fat Greek Omelet»(sans tomato & onion) w/hashbrowns and it’s enormous… fluffy…full of fresh spinach & good amount of feta you can taste… I can never finish this and end up bringing the rest home. I’ve also had them substitute egg beaters or egg whites and it’s just as delicious and fluffy… I love the hash browns too… crispy and tender. Not all restaurants can perfect a crispy, shredded hash brown… Of all the sweet breakfast options here, I have only had the Buttermilk pancakes and they were pretty yummy. Really tender and soft; not ‘cakey’. I’m picky with pancakes, and these cooks know how to make them… They have 13 pancake varieties… and they all sound amazing… not to mention a great selection of Waffles, French toasts, Crepes, Skillets, Biscuits & Gravy, Eggs Benedict…(I need to try ALL of these and make up for lost breakfast time…). Salads and soups are some of my menu favorites & are excellent. «The Popeye»(fresh spinach, sliced mushrooms, hard boiled egg & crisp bacon) w/a cup of soup… has been my ‘go to’ many a time… always fresh. THESOUPS? Omg, they make wonderful HOMEMADE soups here, offering 2 – 3 choices which vary daily, Sometimes, I just order the soup. They’ll include 2 – 3 of their house made rolls in bag, & I’m set. Cream of chicken w/wild rice is a must get(or Lentil or Split pea… they’re all fantastic, and not«heavy»), Egg Lemon soup is offered on Sundays & is VERY popular, LOVETHIS… The corned beef Rueben is excellent too and the portion is huge… I haven’t eaten anything I didn’t like here. It is always consistently good. They have daily menu board specials that are unique for a coffee shop/café…Salmon, Wraps, Paninis’ & homemade chili! Red Apple keeps it interesting. Offering traditional breakfast & lunch items with out-of-the ordinary eats, you wouldn’t expect in a homey, casual diner… Prices are reasonable, staff is super friendly and accommodating, portions are generous… Food is tasty & fresh and reminds me of home cooking… You could probably walk in with your PJ’s on and feel right at home… it’s definitely«laxed» here… Only thing I don’t like about Red Apple? THEYCLOSEAT3:00…They are popular people… Greek owners & Sam is delightful… OPENEVERYDAY. I recommend stopping in EARLY on weekends cause they can pack in a crowd… **Free coffee BEFORE11AM on weekdays, w/purchase of $ 5.99 meal** **Check them out on facebook. They post daily soups & specials HERE** RISE&SHINEPEOPLE…(I am projecting again…)

When you go here you feel like family. There is always a wait which is a great sign of how good they are, but they are quick to seat you. Steak and Eggs are delicious and their skillets beat all others I’ve had. Choose Red Apple the next time you want to go get a great breakfast with your family.

Food is good typical breakfast stuff. Nothing outstanding. Service is good. Just too many old people and whiny kids ! Room seems a bit cramped and kinda impersonal…

Been here a couple of times and must say it’s a pretty good breakfast for reasonable prices… I’m not too much of a fan of sweet but based on a sampling of their signature pumpkin pancakes… agree they are good… and relieved to note they had swapped out the BAD coffee they were experimenting with the previous visit… so no negatives to note in this review. They listen to the customers… it wasn’t just our table of four that was noting how awful and weak the coffee was… yay. Service is good and I recommend sharing if you are getting an omelet… otherwise expect leftovers. Not convenient if you are heading out for the day.

I was seated within 3 seconds of walking in the door. Placed my order and it was done in 5 minutes. The Mediterranean omelette was huge and fluffy, and absolutely delicious. This is the first time I have taken home half of my omelette from a restaurant as left overs in over 20 years. The staff was professional, attentive and polite. I could not be happier unless it was half price or free. Other restaurants in the area serve omelettes for $ 1 cheaper but with 1⁄3 less food. I can’t wait to go back to try their crepes and pancakes!

Went in on a Sunday morning. They were super busy and crowed, but we were seated immediately. Very friendly staff and owners. I had the apricot, raspberry, three bread French toast. It was amazing. 3 different types of French toast, crunchy, banana bread and cinnamon swirl. With whipped cream cheese apricots and raspberries, and sliced almonds. Sounds like a lot but it was soooo delicious. My sister got the meat lovers skillet. Super yummy also. If I’m ever in that area again I’d love to try them again

Breakfast has always held an important place in my heart. When you figure that, most days, my training diet doesn’t allow food until 11 or 12, it takes on a whole new meaning. So when we finally found a weekend day to visit Red Apple Pancake house, we were ecstatic. Finally an opportunity to nosh on all the goodness my Unilocal compadres have gushed about. We were seated almost immediately, at a 4 seater table next to the fireplace. The interior is decorated with a country kitchen feel, but tastefully. You get a warm sense of being home, minus the cooking and cleanup. Before us was a menu loaded with every combination possible, of fresher cooked goodies. It took us some time to land a decision, what with all the incredible combinations and choices. Skirt steak and eggs, with blueberry pancakes for me, the BF got a Mediterranean omelet with avocado, fruit on the side, and a fresh baked blueberry muffin.(Which was still warm from the oven) Food came flying out to the table in a matter of minutes and we dove into the perfectly prepped plates before us. Our waiter was super personable, had us laughing and kept our coffee cups full. This is how you do breakfast. Upon leaving, there was a small line. The hostess apologized and chatted with us before Sam,(an owner) rang us out. Both of them were so polite and happy to have us– it just made the experience that much better. Everything about this place will keep me coming back. It has that family feel that other breakfast chains truly can’t compete with. It’s how a breakfast deprived girl(me) wants all of her binge breakfasts to be.

This place is awesome. Everything I want from a breakfast place. We were seated quickly and served right away, which was awesome with three young(and hungry) kiddos. My wife had the banana nut French toast… Which was outstanding. It was French toast made from banana bread! So good. I had the Denver omelet which was the size of a loaf of french bread! And really tasty! We also got some biscuits and gravy to share at the table, and they disappeared quickly. Kids had the pancakes and gobbled them up. Serving sizes were pretty large, so we’d probably order less food next time. Awesome place. Nice staff. Would love to go again when we are in the area!

A winner for breakfast on a weekend. I called ahead to be sure if there was a wait. No wait, but when I arrived the parking lot was mostly full. But we were seated without a wait as promised and quickly offered a cup of coffee. Good experience. I took a gander around to see what everyone was having. Everything looked great and in good portions. Everyone walking out the door had leftover tins. I ordered chicken fried steak with hash browns, over easy eggs and a complimentary side of buttermilk pancakes. Red Apple meets all expectations of a consistent good weekend breakfast experience. Courteous service, good value and portions. Meets my expectations. Great times, I found a new favorite breakfast place!

Late Saturday morning after running errands calls for a little breakfast. I wasn’t sure that I felt like the usual standbys so we ventured a little further north to stop in at the Red Apple. This is a pretty large restaurant which meant that even though the parking lot was just about full, we didn’t have to wait for our table. Score! My husband was thrilled that he could watch college football with a choice view right from his seat. I really was leaning toward some crunchy almond French toast served with bananas and caramel, but I really am counting my calories and I think that would have put me at the limit until about Tuesday. Instead, I opted for a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough toast. He chose corned beef hash, two poached eggs, hash browns and a side of pancakes instead of toast. My sandwich was really good. I stuck to half and that was plenty. I was surprised to find the toast was buttered, so while it tasted great, the menu didn’t provide a heads up on that one. The French fries were very good, but most of those came home for someone else to enjoy. His poached eggs were just right! The service was very attentive. The whole visit really was a pleasant surprise. I am confident that we will head in again.

I want to like this Red Apple location, like really really want to like it. My friends and I have been going to their other location for years, and I haven’t been since we moved an hour North. I was super excited when I realized that Red Apple has another location which is much closer to us. There is only 1 thing I get when I go to Red Apple. In fact, I dream about it. Their strawberry crepes are out of this world! I don’t get the glaze or anything, just 2 simple crepes stuffed with fresh strawberries. I’m not sure if they changed the crêpe batter across the board, if it’s a specialty reserved for the other location, or if maybe the chef was having a bad day, but what I got was an awful eggy mess. It seriously tasted like I was eating a sweet egg omelet with a few pieces of strawberries strewn about. It didn’t come with whipped cream or powdered sugar this time, and it sort of reminded me of a lunch cafeteria’s Monday«mystery meat» special. I choked down 1 crêpe, and boxed up the other one out of respect for what I’ve had in the past. Nothing else that we ate was that spectacular either, and with several other winning breakfast places, in the area, Red Apple will be a skip for us(unless we can get to their other location).
