Mehhhh. Grandma and I stopped here for lunch the day we arrived in Chicago. We were hungry so we ordered 6 regular sliders and 4 with cheese. Regular sliders are $ 0.71 and cheese are $ 0.89. The frozen burgers you can get at the grocery store are the exact same. They do have chicken sliders, veggie sliders, and breakfast slides for a bit of a variety. For dessert I ordered a dipped cheesecake. It’s frozen cheesecake on a stick, with the end dipped in chocolate. It was pretty good. Although the meal was nothing special, it was still cool to actually step inside of a White Castle. The employees were super friendly too. The building outside actually looks like a castle, and that is pretty cool.

The food was amazing. Don’t get me wrong the crave case is a bargain. HOWEVER the employees we’re clueless and rude! She made me pay more than the actual price and I had to correct her. Don’t go to this location.

When I was out browsing retro video games at the half priced books across the street I spotted one of the more rare fast food joints in the industry. I don’t think I’ve ever had white castle so I needed to check it out. Burgers with cheese were around 85 cents. I know they are quite small, so I figured I could take down 10. Modesty prevailed and I went with 8. This location was quite clean and cozy. I felt comfortable eating them in the small lobby. The latino guy in his late 20’s was also friendly, he seemed to like working there and was supportive to a newcomer. What an odd flavor experience. I went with cheese, onions, and extra pickles. They have a tasty brown mustard which I put on a few of them and enjoyed. These are 2 – 3 bite sliders and I gobbled them up quick. The beef is kinda a background taste for the onions, cheese and pickles but everything meshed together well. Sadly, there are no price breaks for ordering 10 of them, which would be nice, I think you get a deal only when you pick up a «case» or a 4 burger and fry combo. Portillos is the tourist trap down the road, if you want something a bit more out there and are open to trying new things, give the castle a shot. I will be back, and I may take down 10 – 15!

Stopped down on my way to Midway airport for a quick bite to eat. The people working were very nice, much nicer than i had expected. the food was brought to us fast and was hot which is always nice, Plus they had no problem making the cheeseburgers with just Cheese and Ketchup which is how i like to eat my White Castles.

I don’t understand the low rating. I grew up on White Castles and enjoy them both sober and after a night of drinking. This is the closest location to my house, and I frequent this place when I need a small snack or have the munchies after a night of drinking. They really do satisfy the crave! If you’ve never had a White Castle, try them. But do know they can be an acquired taste. This location most times has prompt service and is always clean.

You get one little square tub of sauce with the round chicken rings, and it’s shape makes it difficult for dipping. The fries were UNSALTED, and no ketchup was available. Also they didn’t give me any NAPKINS. At least they gave me a tray because I was eating inside.

Same as always: and, the cleanest fast food place I’ve ever entered. Immaculate. The new chicken sandwiches are pretty good, and I didn’t know they had awesome milkshakes. Yay! 1921 in my mouth.

Some things are better left as memories — like Coors Beer when you had to drive to Colorado to get it. White Castle is like that — better as a memory. This location is a drive-thru that has some seating — but the same person works both areas. I hadn’t realized how bland and simply bad the food was. Sliders come without condiments — just onions and pickles, and there are no packets around to use. The fries are reminiscent of those from a bag frozen for too many months. They don’t seem to have iced tea, and the drinks include a «mystery» tap with no identity. It isn’t even cheap anymore — a chicken sandwich is about $ 1.50 and any combo starts at $ 5. Skip this place. Go next door to Wendy’s or Taco Bell.

No trip to the mid-west would be complete without a trip to White Castle. This location is a drive thru located in Palatine across the street from Sonic. The burgers are exactly the same as the ones you can buy at the grocery store in the freezer section. They steam them to cook them. It’s very basic foodstuffs. The only real reason this chain stays open is due to their extra cheap prices. One burger is .90 cents. A combo #1 constitutes four burgers, fries and a soda for about $ 5.

It’s freaking White Castle! You know what you’re getting. Don’t tell your doctor and just enjoy yourself every now and again. You deserve it!

Uhhh what is all the hype about white castle??? All those movies about a late night adventure chasing the munchies… over-rated. If you are hungry and have no where else to go I think I would still eat at Taco Bell over this place. Yuck.

If you are looking for high quality food go somewhere else. If you are looking for cheap and tasty food quick, with grape Fanta(!!!) this is your place. This is only my second time going here in my life because it is a little out of the way but it was a decent lunch. They are celebrating there 90th birthday this year so they are selling white castle/coca cola glasses for 90 cents if you but drink with your meal. Pretty nice glass(see picture) also. The food. I got a number one(with hamburgers not cheeseburgers) and a large drink. With the extra glass my totally was just below 8 dollars I believe. The buns on the burgers with a tiny bit soggy on the bottom but nothing too bad and everything between the buns was very thin. Meat, grilled onion, and a pickle is all you get. It tastes a whole lot like the way a baseball park smells when you are walking through the food area. Not that strong of a flavor but you taste the onions and when you eat the pickle you get the nice bit of sour. The fries were alright. The thin fries were crispy and the fat fries were just normal moist fries. I may be back if i’m in the area and want a cheap quick bite to eat.
