The noodle-aficionado in me picks Tosok Chon Kalguksu over Myungdong Kalguksu every. damn. time. The menu is all of two pages in large font and I’ve tried their bajirak(little clams), myungdong(w/small dumplings), dahk(chicken) and recently, their dahkgyejang(basically, spicy chicken). The portions are really, really huge and the broth is so rich and flavorful and their side dishes are simple — they have some pickled peppers/radish and kimchi. Their gamja-jeon(potato pancake) and dumplings are definitely worth a try, but they leave you so full you can barely finish your noodles! Small little place you MUST try if you love noodle soups!

As far as Kalguksu goes, this is about as good as it gets in New Jersey. The dumpling one seems to be their signature. The clam one though is very refreshing. You can’t go wrong with either. I’d guess that you have to go to «Kalguksu Alley» in Nam Dae Moon to get something better.

Simple menu of hand made noodles in a delicious broth. Portions are huge… I couldn’t finish! The dumplings were delicious.
