There aren’t enough negative words to express my displeasure with this company but I will try and be fairly brief yet absolutely succinct. We are staying at the JW Marriott resort and it must be said that this is separate from the hotel yet Marriott uses them so they need to get rid of this bunch of clowns. My husband and I had planned a trip to Joshua Tree and we probably drove in total 160 miles. We were told we had been given An ‘upgrade’ by the most bored attendant ever and our Upgrade was a Nissan Rogue with 45,000 miles on it– My husband travels lots and has never seen a rental car with over 25,000 miles. This car sounded like it had been pulling 8 horse trailers for the past decade and was seriously uncomfortable. Back to the service, or lack there of which left me yelling obscenities at the manager, an uncommon occurrence to be sure. The attendant didn’t go over the car with us, didn’t tell us where to return it, just gave us the keys and when asked if there was an iPod charger(there wasn’t) replied oh most cars have them now. We set off determined to focus on our day trip — the car started groaning about 25 miles out and I tried to call the Hertz location twice– no answer or voicemail just ring ring ring — -this thing was an utter piece of shit. When we returned we were locked out. Of the gate because they hadn’t told us the code, nor were we told we needed one. I voiced my displeasure to the manager(I assume?) and it was more than obvious he didn’t want to listen and it was only in fear for his job that I really do think he didn’t yell at ME. The guy was oozing hatred at me for interrupting his conversation with lazy time coworker or plans for the evening or I don’t know. He wasn’t the least bit interested, no apology from Hertz and I implore anyone reading this not to use them. As an aside, I do not work for a rental car agency, I am just one majorly pissed off ‘customer’ and can only imagine that the car we would have received minus the ‘upgrade’ would have been either an Edsel with no steering wheel or a 68 Bug with two gears. Hertz– you suck.

They didn’t have a car for me, even though I made a reservation. In order to «make up» for it, they sent me to the Palm Springs Airport, but failed to tell me I would be charged more money due to unavoidable airport charges. I understand the airport fees, but then they should have adjusted the bill to balance out my additional fees. Rico, the manager, was rude and arrogant. He lied and told me they would adjust my bill when I returned the car, due to my inconvenience, and my additional fees, but then when it came time to pay, he refused to make the adjustment. Save yourself the headache. DONOT use this company.
