This is the restaurant, right next to the pool. It was afternoon and already steamy hot, fortunately, Oasis has misters and is shaded, so its a great spot to cool off. The drinks? STRONG. I first tried a Mai Tai, but it was too strong for me; it was the first drink of the day! I switched to Pinot Grigio and they poured it all the way to the top. Wow. When friend joined us for lunch, she immediately noticed the pour and said she needed one STAT. A lot of bar fare food on the menu. Saw the Nachos at another table and didn’t think they looked good. Also, had the quesadilla for room service, the night before, and was disappointed. So, I opted for the Mediterranean Salad w/Chicken. The dressing comes on the side, which I prefer. Enjoyed my salad. Our server was fast & friendly. Any time there was a slow down, I could see it was the bar and not her(she was standing there, ready to grab it).

Went here this past Saturday and was so extremely disappointed. We ordered the nachos which themselves weren’t terrible… what we expected for poolside food. The service was what we were appalled at. When we sat down, there were some menus on the table next to us already. The waitress was taking the a group of guy’s order next to us and we were ready to order as well but she didn’t come over to us… whatever, maybe she didn’t see us. Maybe she was too busy flirting? Next time we saw her, we waved to have her come over to take our order. She gave us the most unpleasant look and begrudgingly came over. While she was taking our order, she was rude and annoyed. 30 minutes later, our drinks come out. Another 20 minutes after that, the nachos finally come out. Again, whatever. When she brings us the bill, we tell her that we would like to charge it back to our room and she again rudely tells us how to do that… at this point we just want her to go away because she is so unpleasant. Because of the slow rude service, we only tip her 5%. Usually, when a server is so blatantly rude and terrible, I wouldn’t leave any tip so the fact that I gave her 5% was nice. We gave her the signed receipt and get this… she had the guts to walk back up to us(again with her bitchy look and rude tone) and ask us if her service was bad because the tip is so much less than she typically gets. At this point, we are dumbfounded and tell her that her personality and slow service was the reason she only got the tip that she did. The rest of the time that we were at the pool, we saw her pointing at us and talking to her co-workers. Granted 5% is a small tip but it is my understanding that a tip is something that is earned. Her hourly wage is what is expected. To top it all off, I checked my bank account today(3 days later) and notice that the total charged to my card is $ 15 dollars more than I signed for… apparently she wasn’t going to accept the 5% tip no matter what. I will be calling Marriott today to put in a formal complaint against that waitress because no matter how pissed she is that she got a small tip, it is illegal and stealing to write in your own tip. Really disappointing to see a Marriott employee act like this because we have been to the JW Resort many times even ordered from the Oasis Bar in the past and have NEVER had an experience like this. This was plain shameful.

I expected so much more — better quality food and cleanliness. It’s a JW after all. The salt and pepper shakers were filthy to the touch — the kind you wanted to barely handle with your finger tips. We got the tortilla chips with salsa and guac. Figured, how could you mess that up… The salsa was tasteless with no texture. Pulverized and bland. The guacamole tasted like nothing and was $ 7 additional for about 2 tablespoons. The Mediterranean salad was so cold(salad is not supposed to be served cold. The better restaurants know that) and was completely uninteresting. The only positive: my daughter tells me the tuna sandwich was good. I’ve never written a review before. I want a great food experience everywhere when on vaca. Even if at the pool side restaurant. Oasis has a long way to go… They can start with wiping those gross salt and pepper shakers. That’s easy.

Good luck as you wait to be recognized by staff. Nothing like opening your menu and having food and other gross things sticking to the pages. Food is what you would you expect from a poolside bar and grille.

This place is beautiful. My rating is just for that: IT’S BEAUTIFUL. as far as food goes, we got a small pour of a chardonnay, and a plain hot dog and fries, which cost us $ 20 before tax and tip.

Came here for a quick lunch after being in the pool for some time and having some drinks. Needed some carbs! It was an awesome spot, literally right by the pool, misters on the side, and you can eat in your bathing suit! The menu is kind of small, and only 1 veg item besides the salad. But we made do and the food was better than I expected! California BLT(5 stars) — This was a pretty damn good BLT, better than some I’ve had at sandwich joints!!! Plus came with curly fries mmmm Appetizer of curly fires with garlic aioli(5 stars) — This was also yummy, I finally found some dang good curly fries, perfectly seasoned, so crispy and the sauce was bomb! Cheese Quesadilla(4.5 stars) — I’m not too fond of just all cheese, I asked if they could add sauteed veggies, and they couldn’t just onions and tomatoes, greaaat! That’s something. This was pretty darn good for what it was, and even better the tamatillo sauce it came with was awesome. I wish I just skipped breakfast the next morning and came here again!!!

«Your PB&J and your quesadilla will be out in about 10 minutes.» … … … 25 minutes later…“hello have you been helped?“ Me: Uh yeah, I’d like my PB&J and quesadilla please. This is the sorry reality of the pool side dining experience while staying at Desert Springs over the weekend. Please note that this review reflects ONLY on the weak link that is the Oasis Bar & Grille. The rest of the place is magnificent. With that in mind, Im gonna keep it short… There is no way in heaven or hell that it should take 25 minutes to produce a PB& J(bread, peanut butter and Jelly) and a quesadilla(flour tortilla and cheese). Also the menu said the the sandwich came with a side of fruit. I got curly fries *sigh*. C’mon team! Based on previous reviews this place is suppose to be tits. Dont make me resort to trying to sneak in my own food & drinks like some of the other trolls we saw doing. I don’t wanna be that person. Hopefully on our next visit the situation will improve. Stay tuned.

Came down at the perfect time to sunbathe, as it was around 1:00 and the main pool was closed for cleaning. Perfect Segway for a little lunch. There is nice music playing in the background which makes for a nice atmosphere. The service was good. I enjoyed my drinks, but I agree that they are pretty pricey. You have to expect that anytime you’re traveling to a hotel/resort with poolside service. The food was also decent. I ordered the turkey club sandwich. Again, the prices were what I expect for a place of this type. I always enjoy my time spent at the JW Marriott and Oasis is a nice added touch.

1 main pool, smaller kiddie pool, hot tub and main bar. The main pool is a pretty decent size for the hotel, but it can get extremely busy during the day and you have to get there a bit early in order to get seating. There is decent music playing in the background. Make sure you get a umbrella, it can get toasty in the summers! The waiter/ress service is pretty decent, the drinks are amazing but expensive(Vegas pricing), the food is either cheap or expensive, no in between. Granted when you get a meal, the portion is generous. I have had the tuna sandwich, BLT, fries(btw are bomb), the guac and salsa etc. All the meals I have had are pretty good! FYI the wait for food at the bar is insanely LONG! They have great Bloody Mary’s as well. You really can’t go wrong with the drinks, they are mighty tasty! Make sure you have your wrist band for Saturday and Sunday, they are now color coded for different days. If you don’t stay at the hotel and want to go in, the ticket for entry is insanely expensive! The crowds can be pretty friendly here, as I live semi close to Palms, I seem to run into several people from my home town. Many bachelor and bachelorette parties here, who would have thought?!

Came here for lunch. The atmosphere was really nice sitting under the misters. I came with my son who didn’t want to sit still. Luckily the staff there was really helpful. My son ran off a few times and on employee there named Bradley was kind enough to chase him down a few times. That allowed me to finish my lunch. I got the Oasis burger. I asked for it medium but it was cooked medium well. They forgot the bacon but the waitress immediately realized it wasn’t there and in a few minutes brought me a pile of bacon to put on the burger. The burger was basically the same and the same price as another burger I had at a different restaurant on the hotel property, but the location and staff seemed to make it a better deal. My son had the peanut butter and jelly sandwich with fruit. The waitress instead of bringing us the normal fruit which was just grapes, brought a fruit plate. He didn’t eat anything untiil we got back to the room, but he enjoyed it. One of the nicest surprises though was that tax is apparently already included in the menu price which makes this an even better deal then I had expected. I will definitely be eating here more often. Too bad they close at 5pm. I’d love to go here for dinner too.

This is the poolside grille and outdoor casual service at the JW Marriott in Palm Dessert. I miss it already! Me and my main squeezes were out there recently for a girls weekend and the best thing about being getting wrinkly from staying in the pool all day is… the cockails! Hey-O! Throw that flag up on the back of your lounge chair(or use it as a photo op prop, poke your neighbor with it, whatevs) and you’ll get fast and sweet attention from the servers. The menu has a decent selection of snack bar type food and a bunch of different flavored drinks. I honestly haven’t had a long island(or 5) that good in… well never! We also tried the chicken fingers, fruit, and breakfast burritos! Yum! There’s a selection salads and lighter options too! We’re pros at resort type pool situations so we got there early and claimed spots-a must on the weekends. There is also café type seating under a shaded area with misting fans. Even if your not rockin your bikini and wedges, stroll out there and enjoy! Now I wanna go back… kisses for your face Oasis, and not just cause you got me drunk! Expected prices for the situation.

Oasis & the pool area is an awesome place to spend the day. There are multiple pools, drinking is allowed in the pool, tons of lounge chairs, and lots of tasty drinks(ie fruity & delicious). There are flags on all the lounge chairs & lots of waitresses so you don’t even have to get up to get a drink or food. The menu isn’t extensive but does the trick for sitting poolside. I had the grilled mahi mahi burger which was good & had a lot of tasty tartar sauce. My girlfriend had a grilled cheese sandwich which is hard to screw up. Everything comes with copious amounts of curly fries — great for soaking up the alcohol from the night before and the alcohol you’ll be consuming all day. The bartender we got all our drinks from was super nice & made awesome drinks(tons of alcohol and delicious). All of the staff was incredibly nice and helpful including bringing us out an extra umbrella to fight the 100+ degree temps. The food & the drinks are a bit on the pricey side, which is really the only negative part of Oasis.

I was here for a convention for my sorority, and while everyone else had to drone through a boring presentation(hey, not everything can be awesome-right?) I ventured around the hotel looking for a spot to grab lunch. The pool was the place to be, so I decided to grab lunch poolside in the shade met with a nice ceiling fan mhhhh(every bit counts when it is 119 degrees out!). I was pretty impressed with the menu– it had a lot of health conscious options for a pool-side«shack». I went with the albacore tuna(mixed with light mayo) sandwich on wheat bread that came with a side of fresh fruit. DELISH! The service was as expected for such a venue, and I enjoyed the fresh and light presentation and taste of my meal(see pics!)

Okay — it’s fair to say that I love bad food. Fair food(like corn dogs and fried whatever), movie theatre/ball park nachos, chili cheese tots, etc. But I also love good food — healthy salads, and good selections with fresh ingredients. What I hate is something that tries for one or the other and fails miserably, and that tends to be what comes out of most«snack shacks» or pool/lakeside service — think airport kiosk or convenience store food. If you’re at a resort, you’re typically either getting some ridiculous room service type meal that you can’t possibly eat casually while lounging, or the ickiest little microwaved hot pocket thing. The Oasis is the antithesis of this pet peeve. You can sit at a table in the little restaurant area, or even better, you can lazily raise the flag on the back of your chair and someone will go get it and bring it to you. The food is actually, well, great. No one had anything they didn’t like and 7 of us were eating it for three days. The tuna was good(one small caveat — the bread is a bit stale, probably only because it’s so thick and dries out in that hot desert air; order your sandwich on a croissant if you’d like, and you’re in business), the salads rocked, the quesadilla was seriously one of the best I’ve ever had, and they are great about substitutions. Fries instead of fruit? Sure! Fruit instead of fries? Absolutely! All of this from the comfort of your cabana/lounge chair/pool floatie. The cocktails are somewhat hit or miss — we were on a mojito mission and drank them fairly consistently. They can make a great one, with a rock sugar swizzle stick(I’m totally stealing that idea), but sometimes it comes out like rocket fuel. I guess that’s just one fewer mojito you need to buy to get your buzz on, and you can always let the ice melt a bit and water it down if you’re a sissy. A word to the wise — it’s hot, so yes, you’re thirsty. However if you let mojitos be your only refreshing beverage, you’ll end up like whoever got taken out on a stretcher. WATER people. There are little water stations scattered all around the pool — take advantage.
