Love this place. My family has been going here for years, usually takeout. I have since moved away from the desert but every time I visit I have to make a stop here. Prices are good, a little under $ 9 for many of the combos including the #8 two beef taco combo which used to be my go-to. The beans and rice are awesome and super flavorful here as are all their salsas. $ 10.25 for shrimp fajitas with an extremely generous portion of shrimp and guacamole… You would probably pay $ 15 or $ 16 at a sitdown restaurant for the same meal but fewer shrimp. Fish tacos and fish burrito are delicious too, with ultra crispy battered fish and pickled veggies. Food is ready super fast and quality is consistent. No complaints!

Been here at least 5 times over the course of 3 years, waiting to be satisfied. It is not likely i will be back. It is nothing special. Seasoning is bland. I would rather eat at Pollo Loco. In my opinion regular taco stand patrons will not be impressed. From this taco stand I have tried Carne Asada burritos and Tacos. Carne Asada fries. The beans and rice. Tortas. If they cannot impress with these plates it may not be worth resorting to the other dishes. If you are not from around here and happen to be in the area I recommend Upper Crust Pizza across the parking lot. For Mexican there is another place in the same lot a little more appealing but not great.

How do you not have Chilaquiles? The food was fine, but I won’t be going back. Why would I go to a restaurant that didn’t have my favorite mexi dish?

Wonderful food and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly. The chicken they put in a lot of there dishes has a great flavor. Will definitely be going back.

Very good, consistent quality Mexican food. I come here very often and never have had any issues. I personally enjoy the Flautas place and the Fish Tacos. Anyone coming here needs to come with the expectations of a homestyle mexican restaurant. Your not going to get tex-mex style or big chain style food here, which i can appreciate. The staff is always very friendly and they sell beer which is always a plus.

It’s definitely authentic Mexican Street food. Buy that it’s no gourmet. I had the chicken burrito. It was full of chicken and that’s about it. & had & Knuckles & everypart part imaginable. It was pretty greasy. The horchata came out of the soda machine. I think it’s great if you’re from Mexico and you want to feel at home. This is not exactly what I was looking for

Came in for dinner with my family, mom was craving menudo. The girl who took our order Gabby was super nice, and knew every item and ingredient on the menu. She made some awesome recommendations too. I had the asada torta, excellent choice! My torta was served on a soft bolillo type bun, with nicely seasoned carne asada, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado and cheese. They have a small salsa bar, unlimited fountain drink refills, and horchata. Will definitely be back.

I got a machaca breakfast burrito– it comes with eggs and beans– I added cheese. I’m halfway through and had to stop to write a review, because this sh*t is DELICIOUS. This was my first time here, and I’ll definitely be back for more. My only suggestion would be to call in if you know what you want. It was pretty busy, so the wait time was a little long, but it was definitely worth it.

Went here on a Saturday morning, I ordered tacos de cabeza and lengua. The meat had no flavor, lacking seasonings. The chips are colorless and have no flavor. The fresh salsa does not seem fresh, taste water-down. Tables are sticky and dirty. They do not clean up the tables as soon as the leave. The lemons they use have no flavor. It’s the wrong type of lemons for this place. I would not recommend it.

Superb! One of tye the best mexican restaurant in the Valley. Had the breakfast burrito and lots of meat inside. I once also had a carne asada plate and the meat is tender. Torta is good too. Call ahead if you know what to order to avoid rush hour. Sometimes it take so long also for then to cook your food. Very good place.

Located in between a liquor store and a bar. It looks kinda sketchy, but wanted to try a new Mexican restaurant. Should have left as soon as we walked in. The lady taking our order was rude. I mean be friendly it’s called customer service. Our order came out to 40 bucks for a family of 4. Not cheap at all. so thinking it will be good. Let’s start off with the chips. Cold and flavorless. Menudo smelled. If you make menudo right it shouldn’t have a smell. My boys who don’t like Mexican food ordered a hamburger and fries. Both spit out their hamburgers on first bite. It tasted like crap. The cheese they put on the Mexican food was a disguise for the bad taste. I would not recommend this place to my enemy! I hate paying a lot for crappy food. You’ve been warned!

Loved this place for years but something has changed… Don’t look inside your shredded beef taco! You will find some kind of meat paste concoction. Nice for seniors and babies who like their meat mashed up. LOL

I lived in California for two years and developed a deep love of the carne asada burrito. Normally I prefer my burritos with steak, pico de gallo, and cream or guac(unlike most I favor sour cream). Usually I consider the addition of beans and rice to be an unnecessary filler, a cost savings for the proprietors. Not here. Where most places give you standard-sized burrito, these guys add the rice and beans, making a giant, extremely flavorful burrito. It was delicious, one of the best I’ve had, and I have sampled many across Southern California during regular visits over the last 16 years. This place gets a 5 on the burrito alone. Otherwise, good salsa, great loaded tacos. Can’t complain. I also enjoyed a breakfast burrito on a subsequent day and it was fantastic as well.

Seriously delicious shrimp fajita burrito. I loaded it up with sour cream, beans, cheese and guac, and it was so good I physically couldn’t put it down. Yet again, «Hey, a sketchy-looking Mexican place, let’s do it!» pans out perfectly. Deduct one star for the disgusting«horchata» which tasted like syrup and preservatives over ice. Have some pride, guys, make your own… it’s worth it!

Good food. Good service. What more could you ask for … My only complaint is the ceviche was warm. My recommendation and preference is to have it chilled before serving it. Other then that everyone who was with us for dinner had a great time and complimented the food.

A good place for a quick pick up meal. The chili verde and the al pastor burrito was pretty good. Not a destination restaurant, but if you are close and hungry it is worth a few minutes drive.

Came in for bfast on a weekday. Located in a small strip center and the parking was convenient. This restaurant is a true hole in the wall for sure. I ordered the machaca burrito with beans. It took a little longer then I expected and I topped my burrito with spicy salsa from the salsa bar. The taste was above average and was large in size. I’ll need to return and check out some of their other entrees. If into menudo Las Carretas offers menudo daily which is unusual.
