Our family enjoys going there until the food quality started going down! The first time I had a fly in my salad and management did nothing about it. Last week I took my entire family and we all got food poisoning!!! It’s disgusting and I called to complain and nothing was done again. I’m sure there’s a lot more happening that we have no clue about. The employees are obviously not washing their hands. No more chances! We’re not returning again! You should close like Chipotle and train the employees to be clean.

DON’T call yourself a Diner, least of all a «Real» Diner if you don’t serve breakfast all day. Ridiculous but whatever. Nothing I can do about it accept bring attention to what I feel to be a lie!

To start with, I’m gluten free and I try very hard not to inconvenience restaurants who clearly have a wide variety of food and that don’t focus on food allergies. Many restaurants have started carrying at least a gluten free bun. When I asked the waitress if they had a gluten free bun, she offered bread instead. Clearly she didn’t understand about gluten and went to ask the manager who’s response I could hear from across the restaurant that they didn’t have a bun and would have to make due with a lettuce wrap. They make their own BBQ(according to the manager) and it had gluten although he wouldn’t tell us what the gluten was. I get that this isn’t a specialty restaurant, but staff should be trained about food allergies and at least some acceptance of food issues. The most surprising to me was I went to the web site to contact the company either through email or a call to confirm the BBQ and ask they consider a gluten free bun. No email. No phone number. Guess they really don’t want to hear from you. Don’t know if I’ll be back.

We went to Richies as a last option because the other restaurant at which we wanted to eat couldn’t seat us and we were hungry. We both ordered the half pound burger and fries, one burger medium rare and the other medium well. Our meals arrived fairly quickly. The medium-rare burger and fries were warm, but the medium well burger was ice cold. When I bit into the medium-well burger, it was like biting into a wad of cold grease. Our server, Michelle, was excellent and very pleasant, and took the medium-well burger back. She returned quickly to say that the manager would cook a new burger himself. 20 minutes later, my medium-well burger was brought to me by the manager who cooked it. It was piping hot as were the fries. Unfortunately, even hot, both our meals were flavorless. Unlike some restaurant who load burgers with salt to give them flavor, Richies burgers had no flavor whatsoever. The buns, though yellow, were not brioche buns(as you might expect for $ 9.99) and they, too, were flavorless. We ech brought half of our meal home. Tonight I will doctor them up and hopefully add some flavor to our leftovers. I would not go to Richies again. Instead, I would save a little money amd go to the McDonald’s in the food court. At least McDonald’s knos how to get some flavor into their burgers.

The food is good, but the service is terrible. They lost my brother and my dad’s order on the way to the kitchen, so their meals came way after everyone else’s. Everyone’s food was cold when it finally came to the table.

Ordered the sirloin vegetable soup. What I got was vegetable soup with 2 very small pieces of sirloin. Told the server that I was not satisfied with what I received and he asked if I wanted a replacement bowl of soup or more meat. I requested more meat for my soup. Approximately 15 minutes later(after I had eaten almost all of my soup) the sever brought me a small dish of meat. I told him I had eaten all but a small amount of the soup while waiting. He said he would tell the manager, who never came to talk to us. Our server brought the bill and I noticed we were still charged for the soup. I questioned him about it and was told that I was given a discount and was asked if the manager, Jimmy Z, had stopped by. I said the manager never talked to us and noticed the discount was a whopping 60 cents. When I stated it was not acceptable, the server said he would again contact the manager. I finally received a 10% discount on my bill and the manager abruptly told me that they had rectified the problem when they brought the meat for the soup, therefore he felt no reason to remove it from the bill. I will not be eating at this restaurant any more since they do not care how they treat their customers.

Wow has this place gone to the dogs. My wife and two kids went there for lunch today. The server accidentally spilled an entire soda on my sons shirt and lap. He was soaked. Hey accidents happen. My wife had to take him to JC Pennys for a change of clothes. What amazed me was that the manager comped my sons coke. Are you kidding me? This does not supprise me. I go there occasionally on Fridays for breakfast. For quite some time now, we have noticed the way the«white shirt» managers treat the staff. Let’s just say they’re don’t seem to be very nice. They just hover near the cashier, bark at the staff and talk to each other. I have never seen any of them pick up a plate, deliver a plate, or help in any way. I actually saw one of these yoyos yell at a pregnant staff member about a year ago. I’ve been going here less and less. The management needs to be retrained or replaced.

This place is easily skipable… I had the waffle and eggs… The food took forever and when i did get it, the waffle was soggy and kinda warm. The turkey sausage tasted rough… The server was nice(when she came around)… Will not be returning…

The Lite Side fish and Chips was great. The service top notch. The order got to me real quick. The only thing is they should update their menu listing on Unilocal since there are a few price differences

Okay so all culinary snobbishness aside, sometimes you just want to indulge in good olé diner food… I’m not saying the food is worthy of 5 stars, although tasty and plentiful, the 5 stars are actually for our waiter that night. Anyone who tries out Ritchies, you have to ask for Nick. This guy would be a top 5 draft pick if «waiting tables» was a sport! I’m serious, people, talk about attentive to your needs, prompt service, updates on your food order, multiple passes to assure you aren’t missing anything like empty drinks or missing utensils or extra ranch and all this service with a friendly smile and relaxed attitude. This guy either LOVES his job or just knows how to treat a customer the right way! If management reads this, you gotta give this guy a raise!

What a bizarre joint! It’s like a bad Vegas or Disney idea of a diner with way more fake decorations. From where I was sitting, there were 3 flags in my sightline. The food was okay. The zucchini appetizer was not fully cooked. My grilled cheese was all right. Too much cheese for me. My husband got a corned beef sandwich and said it was fine. The service was fine. It’s just a very strange place. In a mall.

Our waiter, Robert, wasn’t the friendliest. Never introduced himself or greeted us when he got to our table. I don’t think he ever smiled either. Our fourth time here. We ordered the Triple BBQ Comboo, the eggs benedict, and the Country Sampler Platter. The eggs benedict was delicious; the Triple BBQ combo and Country Sampler were good although the meat was dry and the food was semi cold when we got it. plenty of food. about $ 50 for the three of us.

YES. Just yes. I discovered Richies randomly when I was in search for a breakfast place. Honestly looking at it, it doesn’t seem like it would be that great but I absolutely love it. I’ll start out by saying that I get the same thing here every time and it never disappoints. Cinnamon roll. That is all you need to know. These rolls are HUMONGOUS! They come with most of the plates and it is probably the size of an average 2 year old’s head. No joke. The icing is perfect and the roll is pure fluffy goodness. After stuffing my face until I hate myself, I top off my meal with the ABC omelette. The omelets are about as fluffy as the rolls. The ABC omelet has onions, mushrooms, cheese, and avocado on top. Complete with a side of hash browns, I am completely satisfied. Go here for breakfast and you won’t be disappointed!

First time here, food was good, prices were decent. the concept of old fashioned/new American food it’s amazing, since it’s close to my house and I don’t need to go to LA to have the same experience. The only problem that I had was the service, needs to be a little more attentive to customers. one idea is to have young ppl dress like jean dean, Marilyn, something more 60’s style/greaser to grab more clientele. The bacon BBQ dog with fried zucchini sticks was bomb.

We love the food and the prices but we ALWAYS disappointed by the quality of service. This last time we had to get up to find the server so we can get our refills and order our dessert. I’m a server, and I don’t like being that annoying customer but they need to get their sh*t together!

We had a hearty breakfast made with good quality food but the wait time for food was very long. The waiter was neither friendly or rude and seemingly unaware of food wait time… but others impressed us and were friendlier as another waitress refilled water and someone else served the food cheerfully. We had our Grandma with us so we ordered… *Senior«Build Your Own» breakfast… good variety(choice of juice, egg, meat, fruit or carb side, biscuit and gravy), a good value for $ 7.95, the other choice is *“Senior Griddle” pancakes/french toast. *Linda’s Sweet Potato Pancakes… delicious, served with crispy smoked bacon but the scrambled eggs were rubbery and barely room temp… grrrr, why are cold/rubbery scrambled eggs such a common issue at restaurants. *Eggs Benedict… hot and the homestyle potatoes tasty. Richies at Westfield Mall is a 50s inspired«diner» serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner located in a vast, airy, richly designed(retro yet modern) space… it’s super-sized complete with kitschy retail(although unsure what the demand is for Richies’ branded mugs/t’s or ho-hum candy). Bottom Line: Good, hearty breakfast options(many served with high-quality smoked bacon, Jones’ sausage, or Ozark ham) in a retro 50s yet modern comfy space.

«There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.» Sarah Dessen, The Truth About Forever I don’t remember the exact date I fell in love. The moment is burned in my mind though. It was in the summer and I was at the county fair. I spotted her from afar. Her light brown complexion. Her willowy figure. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. As I approached I noticed her scent… Her delicious scent enthralled me. We had a brief flirtation before I kissed her. Oh that kiss and each one since then… How the fireworks went off in my mouth! She had a salty flavor about her. Some might say she had a hard crusty exterior but inside she was warm and juicy like apple pie. :-) We would rendezvous at the fair once every year. :-) For awhile this worked out but I felt empty without her the rest of the year. I visited Ritchie’s Diner to see if I could find a more readily available paramour. The fried zucchini is really huge here. A side order of 3 is itself a full lunch. The lightly flavored beer batter is not as good as the tempura batter at the fair. Also it was a bit too thick in spots. The zucchini is just as juicy though. Sadly for me no fried zucchini has been as good as that at the Del Mar Fair but I’d say this fried zucchini ranks in the top 3 I’ve found in restaurants. The chicken pot pie had potential. I really liked the flavor of the chicken and the broth/veggies. The crust was bad though. It was gooey and the flavor was kinda starchy… Go to Marie Calendar’s and get yourself a pie with awesome crunchy crust. They have a smoker outside and they smoke their ribs up to 4 hours over mesquite wood. I tried a rack of baby ribs. The ribs were tender and juicy with a hint of smoke. I liked the sweet sauce they had. The fried haddock was pretty good. The fish was very mild and the batter was what gave it’s good flavor. The french fries were a bit over salted but a napkin wiped off the excess and then they were pretty good. Banana split. It was big enough for 2 or 3 people. It was very tasty with vanilla ice cream, cherries, strawberries, and canned pineapple.

Richie’s is a real American diner… and more. It’s got every commodity for possible sale — candy, soda pop, and branded gear. But it done so well and so nice… that it’s kitschy kool. They have everything under the sun on the menu, too. But perhaps the best thing offered(besides breakfast, which I’ve heard is great), is the BBQ. Barbecued steaks, chicken, ribs, and more — all done on an outdoor fire pit. The steak, which my Mom got, was $ 10.99 with 2 sides. Excellent. Trying to watch my girlish figure, I got the Turkey Sandwich. I wanted fries… but got cole slaw instead. It was terrific. The server was very nice and efficient, but the manager had a personality and a half… and deserves kudos.

We stopped in Richie’s on an impulse. Actually, we stopped here because we were too lazy to walk to the other end of the mall to find O’s. But, whatever — we ended up in here for lunch one hot Saturday afternoon, and were fairly impressed by the service and the shakes. We had a party of six women, so they stuck us in a booth. Our server was great — he was friendly, attentive and put up with all the nonsense that comes with having a table full of six women. I ordered the«California Burger», which comes with avocado, tomato, sprouts, onion and cheese, with a side of curly fries and a chocolate-peanut butter shake. The burger was just okay. It was piled high with sprouts — it almost looked like they had taken a whole carton of them and threw them on top of my burger patty — but, it kind of lacked in the flavor department. The curly fries were also pretty good, and I love that they served them with ranch dressing, without me having to ask for it. It’s the little things… The best things were the shakes that we ordered. One of my sisters ordered herself a chocolate-Oreo shake, and we ended up swapping tumblers after they were served so that we could have a taste of each of the shakes. You could tell they used real ice cream and other ingredients, and they were well made. All around the table, my group seemed to like their food, but nobody was overwhelmed by anything. it was sustenance at that point, and we were in a comfortable spot in an air-conditioned room, so that was another bonus. The fact that our server had such a great personality helped a ton, as well. Would I go back, when I’m in town? Maybe… but if I do, I’d go for the malts, shakes and desserts, not for the«real» food.
