So we frequent this restaurant… food is great. Service is usually great. Open until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday(so the sign says). We walk in on Friday night(tonight) at 9:30, they all looked at us like we are nuts and I quote«folks, we are closed». Well you’re not technically… or change your sign. So disappointed and we are regulars.

Don’t go after 8 pm. We went in tonight at 9:15, the place was empty and we were rudely told that the restaurant was closed by some gal who who was apparently in a hurry to get home. She was really unfriendly and quite frankly she embarrassed us for coming in that«late». This place is notorious for closing very early. Plan accordingly.

We used to frequent this restaurant almost every single week without making a reservation but lately, we have not been able to do so because it seems like guests really need to call a few days in advance or book online, especially if they want to dine on the weekend. The restaurant has three different dining areas, with two of them on the left and the other past the bar section. The room just past the bar is not my fave, mostly because it has no windows and tends to be the last place they seat, so it is sometimes pretty empty. However, if you do sit at a table near the bar or in the back dining room on Friday and Saturday nights, both areas will be full to capacity due to the live music they have there. We actually prefer to eat at one of the four tables in the bar section because you can hear the singer even better, and also make requests. Their brick oven pizzas are exceptionally good, and you can actually see them being prepared when you sit close by. Our favorites include the four cheese and the mushroom and prosciutto pizza. The average pie costs about $ 13 and does not come with either soup or salad, but you can add one for an extra $ 4(which I think is real expensive based on the portion size). All other entrées do include your choice of the soup or salad, and each meal runs approximately $ 18. We truly enjoy the Chicken Abruzzi, Chicken Saltimbocca, and the Veal Positano. I also like the clams with white wine over angel hair pasta, but the portion size is pretty small for the price, so I generally don’t order it. Fresh bread and dipping oil are served to every table, though my husband and I much prefer the garlic butter they used to give diners. It was unbelievably good. The restaurant has a daily Happy Hour from 4 to 7, with red and white wines running about $ 7 for a double pour. The service seems OK, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend Positano as a nice local place with a large menu, quality food, and for the most part, reasonable prices. Avoid going to those chains like Olive Garden and Karaba’s, and instead, try your next Italian dinner right here.

I finally went in and checked this place out. I definitely no NOT regret it. This is a VERY good Italian Restaurant. The Pizza was really good… they use San Marzano sauce and excellent Mozzarella. I have also tried some of the non-Pizza dishes like the Chicken and Veal Parm. The red sauce is excellent. And the service is also top notch. And the Cannoli was great too. The only reason I don’t give it 4-Stars instead of 5-Stars is that I wasn’t such a big fan of the Appetizers. The Clams were small and old. But overall this is an excellent restaurant which you guys should check out.

Late review. We had a Saturday night dinner here and totally understandable that reservations are suggested but I seriously cannot get over the timing factor to have dinner. Our options were a table with a nice location for only an hour or a table in the middle of traffic for 90 minutes. Wait a minute am I coming in for a dinner to spend my money or am I coming to your restaurant to hold your table for the time you dictate. Next came the service for the table in the middle of traffic, nothing special, had the I really don’t care attitude. Just get this table ready in less than 90 minutes. The stuffed mushrooms were good but my Manicotti were average at best and the tomato sauce was way too well done bordering on burnt. Not overly happy with my first and possibly last time here. The last thing I want is to be timed for how long my dinner will take. Overall only 2 ½ stars but I’m feeling generous and rounding up to 3.

Great little Italian spot in Palm Harbor! We found this place on Unilocal and it did not disappoint. Upon walking in, we were greeted by some excellent live music(jazz style 3-piece band) in the bar area. It’s hard to beat love music! We ordered calamari to start. It was fresh and crispy(soggy calamari is a huge pet peeve and it happens all the time! Not here!!) with a size of some delicious sauce to dip. Plenty for two of us to share. I ordered the sausage pizza and my wife ordered the chicken Marsala. The pizza was exactly how I like it with a crispy /slightly charred crust with tons of sausage! It was 5-star! The Marsala was a little heavy on the cream sauce but my wife enjoyed it thoroughly — classic preparation. Our orders came with a side salad, which was no slouch. Candied walnuts, cranberries, goat cheese and a nice light Italian vinaigrette. Why only 4 stars? We were seated in a room off the bar that was totally dead! There was room up front, but we weren’t offer a spot… Definitely will be back though.

So being new to the area and given the fact I had just picked up two teenagers in Sarasota to come spend the weekend with my Daughter for her birthday and it was late and because Fireside Pizza was packed, we opted for this due to good reviews. It had a live jazz type band but definitely caters to the older crowd. The pepperoni pizza was tiny and it took two so that was $ 28 alone. Who doesn’t have garlic rolls or knots at an Italian place?! This place! The eggplant parmigiana was just a cheesy goo of nothing. You couldn’t taste any flavor and it wasn’t very warm. The sauce and pasta was okay but it’s hard to mess up noodles! I was lucky to get two refills on tea(they served it in an extra small wine glass so you get around 3−4oz!!) I am never coming back if you let my glass sit empty for long periods of time and never offer a refill… so strike 2! Then to top it off, it was her 16th birthday and the waitress didn’t even do anything! I had informed both her and the hostess and nothing! We didn’t want to order the desserts so I guess you get no singing or a flipping candle in whipped cream or anything! Pathetic! I will never go back here. Save your money because I hear there are tons of good places to eat in the area. $ 63.00 was a waste for me and so not worth it! Shame on me for not planning better on an important day but from the looks of this place you’d think we were in better hands than say a local casual pizzeria. Definitely stick with the local and casual! I’m Giving one star just because it won’t let me post without it.

AMAZING, highly recommend! We came here on a weeknight, decided to switch it up from Carrabbas and other Italian chains we dine at. We had a 6:30 pm reservation and the hosts were very friendly and prompt. The restaurant has a more cozy, intimate setting. Service was exceptional and our server was very knowledgeable. Everyone enjoyed their salads and entrees. I had the Angel hair alla Puttanesca with extra red pepper flakes, it had so much flavor and was delicious. We skipped dessert but enjoyed coffee and espresso. I would definitely come back here, there are so many appealing items on the menu!

This place is pretty good. Went on a weeknight and they were reasonably busy. The bartender(female, didn’t get her name?) was friendly. She was down to earth and enthusiastic. It did take a couple minutes for us to get service but she had a table of 6 – 8 and was putting their order in so she was in no way just being lazy. Food was great, had the fiocchi appetizer that was amazing. We also had the caprese salad which boasts a balsamic reduction but it’s really just a thick vinaigrette. Not something that most people catch, it just happens to be a fave of mine, and lacked that sweetness. We also ordered the Italian sausage pizza which was delicious! Ambiance was decent. Nothing great but it works. Big pizza oven in the middle makes you want pizza. Also had a few glasses of chianti that were big and good. All in all, a positive experience and we will definitely go back. You can tell they cater to regulars so maybe we need to make it a new spot.

Hands down an excellent dinner we had. we started with the antipasto platter and the calamari which were both very good. Probably wouldn’t order the antipasto platter again it was just good not great. My husband and son both got the chicken alfredo and both said it was the best they have ever had. I had the Chicken Francese which was amazing. Lots of lemon flavor over pasta. We seemed to be the youngest family in the restaurant which was fine. We would go back for sure!

I am visiting my parents from Boston and decided to take them out somewhere they’ve never been. Right here in their own neighborhood, I found this wonderful Italian restaurant that blew all 3 of us away. The gnocchi, scallops, veal and bass were amazing! And, the service was superb as well. Take it from a girl from Boston with high expectations of a dining out experience, this place is great!

Chicken piccata was very good. Not breaded how I like but still an excellent sauce. Good prices. Fair portions. Nice atmosphere. Would go again!

Went for my mom’s 70th birthday and the atmosphere and food was amazing! Probably the best chicken Marsala I’ve ever had, in Florida of all places! I was very pleasantly surprised! My parents and sister also loved their meals; I tried my sisters francais and it was delicious! The only negative thing I have to say is our waiter although attentive, came off very patronising and rude. He was very impatient, especially with the older crowd! He had to repeat that the specials were in the back of the menu and they only had house dressing, and he seemed super annoyed and his tone was rude! You’re in Florida, you may need to learn how to deal with the over 70 crowd… maybe needs some sensitivity training! I think his name was Raul or something like that. Anyway, I hope he gets help because the food was SOOOOO good and I’d definitely go back, I’d just ask not to be seated in his section. I definitely recommend you check this place out!

My favorite Italian neighborhood restuarant. I love the brick oven pizza and the crust is fantastic, and has some type of sea salt on it that makes it super yummy. All of the chicken dishes are fantastic — as are the pastas. The cocktails are good, maybe not great, b/c I like my martini super super cold and just right, but the jazz band makes up for it on the weekends. The service is great, the vibe is good too.

We brought a large family group and ordered most of the menu– including multiple apps, bottles of wine, cocktails, and their best entrees. A $ 300 tab. Their«signature dish»(eggplant parm) was absolutely soaked in bad tasting oil, and other than two or three bites went largely uneaten. When we simply mentioned this to the manager Dana, she argued with us about how much the person who ordered the dish enjoyed it. Seriously, two bites of the dish and she had the audacity to say that a significant portion of the dish was finished and did not warrant a comp but that a finished plate of cheesecake would be comped instead. I’ve never seen such poor and disrespectful managerial skills in my life. Other things that surprised us: We had a 6 month old baby in the group and they made us put the carrier on the ground because they have no slings. When the food came out, only half the table had silverware. Pros: The waitress was good. The mushroom soup was delectable. The chicken picatta and bruschetta were both excellent. Overall the food is good(NOT the eggplant parmesan) probably 4 stars, but for the price you should expect better management and hospitality.

We were looking for a nice non chain Italian dinner. We drive by Positanos twice a day and finally decided to give it a try. Glad we had a reservation because you need one. The décor was nice but not fancy. Service was prompt, professional and very personable. Our server Victor knew the menu well and helped us make great choices. The food was perfectly prepared and made to order. Nothing was prepared in advance. The portions were generous especially considering the main courses we ordered were shrimp and veal. Timing was just right, and everything was piping hot and attractively plated. They get the little details as well. The accompanying pasta was an appropriate sauce, not generic red. If you’re a wino, the $ 15 corkage is very fair. Same for the rest of the pricing, very very fair. Overall an outstanding experience, we’ll be back.

This restaurant is an individually owned small dining restaurant. It is located in a strip mall which is higher class(in appearance) then most others here in Florida. It is nestled between Tampa Road and Lake St. George Boulevard. When you walk in the Decour is very much Italian with an upscale ambience. The restaurant is split into several sections which makes it more interesting. The hostess was very welcoming and nice and showed us where our party was. I went for a Christmas dinner function which was located in a private room in the back that holds approximately 30 people. The room was well decorated and the staff did a very good job keeping drinks full and the food coming. My friend got shrimp penne pasta with a vodka sauce. That was perfectly cooked and delicious. I got the chicken Positsno which was spaghetti with a tomato cream sauce a pan seared chicken breast, Roma tomatoes, cheese and some fresh basil. I tasted a hint of lemon which was probably used when they sautéed the chicken. It was phenomenal. The only thing I would say it was a biton the salty side but I seem to feel that way about most restaurants so it could just be me. All in all it was avery good experience. I will be returning again and again and again.

I got the Vitello Saltimbocca alla Romana, which is veal sauteed in Marsala demi-glaze with fresh spinach and mozzarella, and topped with prosciutto crisps. It was good because all of the components are great(veal, mozzarella, etc.). It was on top of angel hair pasta, which is supposed to be hand-made(from the menu), it tasted straight from the box. I wasn’t impressed by the pasta. They also brought bread out, but nothing to dip it in. The salads also came out by the time I got a chance to ask for it, so I just let it pass. They also seem very conflicted in the direction of their restaurant, at first it seemed like a higher-end Italian restaurant, but in the bar(where we were sitting) they had Family Guy and Seinfeld. I like both shows but not for an Italian Restaurant. It was also affordable.
