Food was okay. Boyfriend had the campechana & I had chicken enchiladas. He said his meal was lacking flavor. I like my chicken shredded when it comes to enchiladas. It was chopped & dark meat only. Service was good, she was friendly & honestly just a complete dear. Also wanna point out a big NONO when having any type of business in the valley… Especially a restaurant HAVEAC! There was no air conditioning! Really strange. Anyways service was nice but all together we wouldn’t be back. Ni modo.

Excellent service, friendly and fast. The servings were huge, including my margarita. I had Chile Rellenos, spicy but not too much. We also got Lengua Burrito, Beef Torta, a combo platter and Flan. Two of my kids split the tamale, burrito, quesadilla platter and brought half home. Outdoor seating in the shade. Unpretentious. Best way to know if a place is good, plenty of locals, few vacationers. Definitely a favorite among the workers on lunch, that’s the place for us.

This place used to be great. The Carne Asada was some chopped tough beef & the other dishes were not great! Too bad! Skip it as there are some better choices!!!

Reasonably priced food. Amazing Flan! My carnitas enchiladas were unreal. Fresh beans and rice. They don’t cut corners on the quality.

Food was ok… had 3 tacos, barbacoa was mostly fat no meat. Shredded beef was decent, chicken really had no flavor. They DONOT give free refills on soda and do not tell you this until you get an extra $ 2.50 charge on your receipt for another soda. Really!!! Chips and salsa were ok, chips were dry needed salt and salsa was spicy, made my nose run(def cleared my sinuses). Might come back… might not… still irritated about the soda…

Decided to try this place based on the overall Unilocal rating and was very disappointed. They have three entrances and none of them are clearly marked as to which one you should enter. The chips were awful, not fresh as all. Wasn’t impressed with the salsa, either. I got the three taco platter. The rice was probably some of the best rice I’ve had… but it’s pretty bad when the side dish trumps the main. The tacos were seriously the worst tacos I’ve ever had. I got three soft carne asada tacos… the meat had decent flavor but was very dry. The tortillas were just as bad as the chips… stale and almost not even edible. The only positive thing I have to say is that the service as good. Next time I’ll probably try the Mexican food place across the way in the same shopping center.

I live across the street and we have tried the numerous Mexican restaurants that PS has to offer since moving here 2 years ago. Everything has been disappointing except for this place! I have ordered everything on the menu at least once and it is excellent. Service is great, though the restaurant itself is small. The food is superb. I grew up on the border and know amazing Mexican food and this place is the only one that I would recommend. DELICIOUSFOOD. I would say effin delicious food if it was acceptable on a Unilocal review lol: D

The service at this restaurant is the worst! You will only see your server when they bring your drink and take your order. Don’t even bother asking for a refill. The burritos are pretty good but don’t make up for the rude behavior of the staff. They care so little about your order that there was ice from the refrigerator in my salsa bowl!

Was in the area yesterday as I got my natural hankering for some good ol’ Authentic Mexican food so i decided to stop by and give it a try. Kind of obscure location in Palm Springs, a few blocks away from the airport but with maps it’s no problem at all to find. Walked in and was greeted right away,(layout is confusing) I walked into the Main door which enters directly in the kitchen area, as a first timer I told the waitress One person, and she kinda requested i take a seat where i please, to the right there was a bar area, and to the left there is a nice old school eating area. Waitress was nice and attentive, oh yeah the have beer and wine as well! No to the food and my rating, I have lived in SoCal my whole life, currently reside in Riverside and commute here for work; nonetheless, from SanDiego to Los Angeles, i have had my fair share of «Authentic Mexican food.» El Taco Asado tries to create that experience but falls somewhat short as the food lacks authentic spice and taste. I would like to start with the Chips and Salsa, for with the beer they where actually the best part of the meal. The Chips where fried fresh and brought to your table upon entry, and the salsa was Fresh and Spicy! On point, however; to the main meal. The Spanish rice was bland, as well it was not that Darker red/Tomato color you look for in an excellent tasting rice, it was rather lighter in color more resemblant to white rice. The beans where good though, very delicious for sure! Now to the main part of the dish, the Flautas(I ordered Carnitas for the meat) They where def. rolled and made fresh to order, however the meat was also bland! It was as if they just fried the pork in Butter, no spice or taste once again so i was extremely disappointed on that end. and the presentation, the Guac was like spread on top simply with a Table knife then they used a pastry gun to squirt Sour cream from the top to the bottom of each roll. $ 15 and some change for the Flautas Combination Plate and a Corona ;) Needless to say, it’s Palm Springs and the Mexican food here is what you would expect it to be(Too far from the border to be authentic) But it was still pretty good, with a few changes here and there, they could be producing some top of the line food. Will be back if in the area.

I’m not from PS but my boyfriend is, and every time we visit his family we stop by Taco Asada. Coming from LA I can say this is some pretty bomb Mexican food. I always order some type of combo plate, which is relatively cheap for the amount of food you get! But be careful because a side of guacamole is $ 3.99 and it’s quite tiny! Otherwise, great service and delicious food. A must when heading down to the fam!

We stopped by on a whim but this place is well worth going out of your way! The salsa is fresh, spicy and delicious and all the servers and servings are generous. Prices are very low for the quality of food. Got barbacoa tacos and they were stuffed full of meat, they are not stingy with anything. The meat was seasoned indescribably well, I tasted cinnamon and nutmeg I think. Bean and cheese burrito was the best I’ve ever had; you know when a spot can make the simplest stuff taste that good they’re doing something right. Next tme I go back I’m tipping the chefs. Will definitely make this a regular stop, I suggest you do as well!

Great little Mexican place. Weird layout, seating area is in two parts, separated by the kitchen. Chips and salsa were served within seconds of our sitting down. The salsa is good if you like it spicy. I got carnitas and they were really great — slices of pork, not shredded, with a bit of crunch to them. Good rice, nice and not too heavy beans. David got enchiladas suiza, three big enchiladas with green sauce, he liked them a lot. Another plus was very good iced tea. The price was low considering how much we got and the quality. Service was very friendly. We are fans and will certainly be back. Update: second visit the taco salad wasn’t very good or very large, and the iced tea this time was awful. David liked his combo fajitas pretty well but the chicken was a bit miscellaneous and the shrimp were overcooked. Hope for better next time.

This place is ok. A bit confusing to find entrance because it looks like its being built outside. I came here because of the Unilocal reviews and decided to try it out. Atmosphere is ok. Typical mexican style place. Service was decent at best. For sure these women have never been servers before working here. Didn’t pay much attention to me and would leave before I finished a sentence but I stayed optimistic and was looking forward to the food. I got my chips and salsa. Chips were really bad and salsa was decent. Salsa wasn’t enough to override the cold nasty chips. They could definitely be made fresh. After that, I went and ordered carne asada burrito. Simple plate. Upon biting into the burrito, all i could taste was everything else BUT the meat. I set aside some to eat it alone and sure enough, really had no flavor. Had a slight meat flavor which looked medium well. Really disappointed. Overall my experience was ok. Decent food but not worth coming here again. Maybe to try out the drinks that’s it. Don’t really recommend this place, but if it’s near where you live, it’s ok. Just my experience.

My partner and I have been coming here for quite a while. We eat here at least once a week and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. The chips are ok but the salsa is fantastic. If you ask, they will bring you out a «special» sauce that is even better than the regular salsa served when you sit down. Our favorite meals are the Torta, Pollo Ranchero, Shrimp Cocktail, Taco Salad, Milanese, and Burrito. My all time favorite though is something I just recently discovered. It a Torta el Pastor with Diablo sauce. It’s hot as a volcano and I can’t stop eating them. And don’t forget to follow it with a big chilled glass of Chavela. I like the fact that there’s nothing pretentious about this place. Parking is super easy and the staff is always nice to us. The only suggestion I have is for them to add some other sides other than beans and rice — it would be nice to have some other choices.

The food was prepared well and looked and tasted great. I had a Carne Asada burrito, and wifey had flautas both dishes were great. And she’s a hard one to please. Fast and friendly service True pleasure..

Yum yum yum. All four of us got the enchiladas suiza and the green chili sauce was delicious. I love that they have horchatas, Micheladas, and other drinks.

I will NEVER eat here again. Reviews make it sound good. Pictures make it look amazing. I got here, and experienced poor service, saw things that raised questions on their sanitary practices, and received a burrito that had red BLOODYMEAT inside. Made me SICK to my stomach! If you are brave enough to try this place anyways, a bit of advice, check you burrito before biting into it. Make sure your food is thoroughly cooked.

So. Good. The staff was very nice. I got Chili Relleno as a side(still huge) and a combo platter. The salsa that came when I sat down was spicy and delicious on the home made chips. I initially ordered a Barbacoa taco and the waitress asked me if I had ever had it there are warned me that it was greasy. I appreciated her honesty. I got way too much food and I ate it all because I am a pig and it was so good.
