The staff at King’s Highway has always been nothing but kind and attentive in my experiences here, and today was no exception. I came in to eat by myself, and they went out of their way to ensure I got breakfast right as the cut off time approached. They were so accommodating! I mentioned that it was all I wanted to eat on my birthday, and at the end of the meal, they even surprised me with a birthday slice of Key Lime Pie! Shout out to that staff, giving back the locals love. Great food, chill and trendy ambiance, awesome staff… check it out.

In fairness to Ace, we asked the concierge at our hotel to recommend a ‘classic retro diner’ type of place and they sent us here. While in Palm Springs we wanted that retro cool experience and when we pulled up and saw the décor here … we knew that we probably found it. It looks like a 1950s atomic style diner … something you’d see in a Tarentino film … or an episode of Mad Men. The interior’s coolness is very deceptive once you open the menu. We were pretty dismayed because not a single thing sounded appealing on the menu. As in … not one. Then we came to the realization, we were in Hipster paradise. If you are a hipster … this is your new Palm Springs spot. This would fit right in around Silver Lake, CA or Tribeca, NY. If you want a $ 12 milkshake made with honey, locally sourced dates and organic coconut ice milk(I shit you not) … you’ve got it here. A sustainable Albacore Tuna melt with imported non GMO– cheese? Ace got you covered. A $ 22 cheeseburger? Yep … its on the menu here. No thanks, Ace. No … thank … you. Sadly Palm Springs is almost completely devoid of retro style restaurants or diners to go along with the many banks and hotels which boast 1950s mod architecture. I guess the Coachella crowd’s influence is far too strong and they use some kind of hipster voodoo to turn all the restaurants into Avocado Toast and organic prosciutto and chia seed breakfast burrito serving clones. My kingdom for a burger, fries and egg cream.

We didn’t stay at The Ace but stopped into King’s Highway for dinner one night. The tacos we had were delicious and the fit out of the restaurant is beautiful. The staff were great as well. Couldn’t fault it.

Husband and I are staying at the Ace hotel and decided to order breakfast from here. I had the Big Breakfast(which wasn’t really), and he had the chilequiles. The eggs in my breakfast had a funny taste and were slightly undercooked, the hashbrowns was actually one small round puck that tasted like it was fried in old fishstick oil. The one slice of toast, fresh fruit and bacon were decent. Husband’s chilequiles were just all around underwhelming with chorizo that tasted off. Neither of us finished the food. The cold brew coffee I had was the best part, although they offered no sugar, just Splenda and Stevia. The staff was all very friendly, the food was overall just not great.

Best green bean salad I’ve ever had in my life! Dressing was very tasty and vegetables were fresh. My fiancé had tacos, I took a bite and the meat melted in my mouth. Very attentive and polite staff too. We will return on our next visit.

ACE has a special place in my heart and it’s my go to spots. I love the one on LA and I love the one in PS. I give them great props because they can transform a space into an amazing and creative environment. The food at Kings Highway is delicious. And the signature cocktails are so good. The Speedy Gonzalez is one of my favs. My favorite, must get item is the fried jidori chicken. The skin on that chicken is so crispy and the chicken is so juicy it’s a must get. You can also get the jidori chicken as a sandwich and kale salad. The kale salad is really good too. There’s a dressing that they used on this that’s amazing. It’s on the side so it’s not overwhelming. If you get a chance get the sticky date pudding as well. It’s super sweet but delicious.

I can’t review the food because I waited 10 minutes after being seated before I walked out. I saw more than one server, but apparently I wasn’t in anyone’s station. Sorry ACE — as a resident I won’t be back and I won’t be recommending you. Thanks for the glass of water, tho

Cool atmosphere. Good food. Tacos were small so order a couple or something to go along with it. Peppers were awesome but really spicy! Would go here again.

Get the Heatstroke cocktail, you won’t regret it! Tequila, ginger beer, blackberries, lemon? Omg, best cocktail I’ve imbibed in a long time. Hubby got the«big breakfast» which included eggs, hash browns, beans and sausage. My compliments to the chef, the scrambled eggs were the best ever, and the hash browns rocked! Kudos to our cool, chill waitress.

Easily one of the best surprises on 111, walked thinking one thing and was blown away with the Crispy Chicken sandwich. Salads on point and if I can get better service it would have to be a top tier Resort, my server took care of us really nice.

Nice people, funky atmosphere, and great food. Or at least I can vouch for the veggie burger and tasty desserts. My only complaint is the odd service. It’s not bad, as the staff is very friendly, it just seems they are on California beach time. All three times I went it was empty because of the Coachella crowd being at the festival, so I think the staff was just bored and chatty with each other. The only thing that was bad was the cappuccino. I went over one morning and got one from the to-go bar. It was one of the worst I’ve ever had. So dreadful that I took one sip and left it in the cigarette bucket outside. La Marzocco should take their machine back from them and give it to someone who knows how to make good coffee. I can’t believe a hipster hotel doesn’t have an awesome hipster barista. The problem is, the coffee is just as bad at Koffi next door, so coffee in Palm Springs is a bust.

I have eaten at this diner over the past 7 – 8 years sporadically over about 10 trips to the desert. I miss the days when the lounge singer lady used to serenade guests with kitsch. And now«bros» and children(no offense to parents– I’m sure I’ll be one not too far in the future) are now a regular staple at what was at one time a young fun artsy hangout. Today, I had the best meal I have had here in many years! I had zero expectations for my grilled cheese and tomato soup with a side salad… And somehow I am won back over. I would give 5 stars for today, but it’s getting a 4 for the many visits of 3.5−4 stars over the past years. Thanks, Ace. This is a treat!

The only thing worse than the service is the food. Honestly couldn’t imagine a place trying harder to be awful.

Wow– Kings Highway is a phenomenal restaurant. Based off Unilocal reviews, I was expecting snooty hipsters, bad service, and sub par overpriced food. However, this was not the case at all. Yes, the crowd is hipper than you, but never did I feel unwelcome or out of place. + Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, and gave us her honest opinion when we asked about the dishes + Drinks were strong. Like really strong, but not too strong where we couldn’t finish them. Definitely got a nice buzz after one piña colada! + BLAT– the bread was a bit dry which was the only downer, wish they had gone with a ciabatta or a Dutch crunch. But they slathered the avocado on there generously, and the bacon was thick and perfectly cooked! The tomato was also thick and extremely fresh. What made this BLAT different than others is the lemon aioli that is on it. SO good, and just enough acidity to cut through the fat of the avocado and bacon. Definitely would order this again! Cool vibes, unassuming but modern décor, great food & service, beautiful people, and sunshine. What more could you want?

The perfect place for someone wanting to live the modernist feel of Palm Springs but not eat food from the 1960s. The restaurant is set in an old-time diner atmosphere, with a counter for singles or couples and a ton of seating besides. They even have two bigger tables for large parties. I had the five leaf burger which admittedly is the first burger I’ve ever had with pickled beets on it. My mother would be proud to hear me say that I loved it and scarfed the whole thing down! The party was just right and egg and pineapple paired well with the bun. The fries were absolutely perfect. Crisp, hot and perfectly seasoned. Only downside was the burger was too thick to reasonably fit in my mouth to take a bite! That may be the beer definition of a first world problem. To drink, I recommend the heatstroke, if you can handle sipping a pink cocktail. This place is way better than the current 3.5 star rating would have you believe. Bonus points for Stumptown coffee!

Awesome little restaurant within the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Great, bold flavors in large portions and reasonable prices. We shared the shishito peppers, lamb meatballs and rapini salad to start, followed by the skirt steak and salmon. Cocktails were inventive and fresh too(with fresh fruit juices) and our waitress was adorable. Great stop in the city.

The black bean burger they featured in 2010 was out of this world, wish they had it still. But revolving menus happen. The Devils on Horseback are unique and done well. A very chinsy portion for the $$$ Burger is a must. They have the best pickles. Good fries. Nice server. Pricy, but gotta pay the fucking hipster tax.

Had a number of meals here during my stay in Palm Springs… can’t say(apart from the chilli dish) that I didn’t enjoy anything I ate here. An eclectic crowd, part Chelsea(NY), part tourist, part Palm Spring resident(slightly older). Service bang on point with each visit and after sampling another place in Palm Springs I’d thoroughly recommend this venue to eat in if you’re staying in the area(Monday night was packed as its bingo night compared by a colourful and funny drag queen)

Food is a mix of trying to be traditional with modern… Very limited breakfast menu and lunch. Couldn’t find something I like for breakfast so I ordered a smoothie. $ 7 for a strawberry smoothie, pretty pricey. My BF got the eggs and chorizo, he said the chorizo was too salty. We also got some toast and it was like fancy toast. We wanted a normal toast. We were staying at the ace, so we came here out of convenience. For lunch I got the burger, which to my surprise was pretty good. The meat was huge but a little too dry. Salad was good. We also got the chicken sandwich and it was so gross. Some items are a hit or miss, but out of convenience it’s a pretty good spot. Plus side they have good coffee.
