Excellent experience! Great haircut. I usually go to a salon in LA to get a 50 dollar haircut. I was in a hurry and decided to drop in. Asbel works alone and is a little hard to find. He needs better signage. His shop is clean and uncluttered. He’s da man! I hope that more people find him.

Went to this barber shop about two days ago. I made the right choice. Here’s why I gave it 5 stars: 1) above all, the hair cut was good. And the barber paid lots of attention to detail. 2) the shop was spotless and very well appointed. 3) conversation with the barber was a pleasure. Made the hair cut go very quickly. this is my new barbershop :) I LOVEITSOMUCH

Good haircut and a reasonable price. The owner is nice and asks good questions. I’ll definitely be back.

I’m currently rocking a buzzcut, so my hair isn’t exactly high-maintenance. Asbel is a friendly guy and does a great job at a great price($ 15). Street parking is easy during the day, but there are also several parking spaces behind the shop too, accessible from the alley.

I live in San Francisco, but have a house in Palm Springs. My barber in San Francisco burnt down, just before I left the City and I needed a haircut, very badly once I got down here. I noticed the sign for«Off the Top» Barber Shop when walking on Palm Canyon(OK, to the liquor shop next door). Did I mention I needed a hair cut? My hair is thick and grows fast so it gets out of control fast and it was well past out of control. Now the place is not much to look at. Clean, but very simple and I think only the owner works there, Asbel. Super nice guy(and a million times better than the terrible place up the road, Snip, Snip Buzz, but that’s another story). It is a simple barber shop, harkens back to the places I might have gone with my dad when I was really little. But, the great part is, I got the BEST haircut I’ve had in at least 10 years. One of those haircuts that is so good, you want it not to grow anymore. It looked good when I left, but even after washing and styling at home, phenominal! So, get past the spare look of the place, it’s definitly not a spa or a salon, but get your hair cut there. I’m planning on my next haircut there the next time I’m in town. Oh, and I forgot to mention, $ 15 for the haircut, less than supercuts!
