This is our go to spot in Palm Springs! The food and drinks are superb every visit. If you like oysters you have to try their Oysters New Orleans style! Also their fish tacos are really good. If you’re looking for a pasta dish you can’t go wrong with The Ozzie Special which is our favorite! Their after 9:00pm happy hour menu is the best! This place is 5 stars everytime!!!

I’m really loving this place, Unilocal hasn’t failed me yet and has led me to another hidden gem in palm springs. For starters i ordered the Mexican ahi poke, it taste better than it sounds and really fresh. For the 2 entrees we ordered the crab enchiladas and Rubens Special. Rubens special was more than plentiful with seconds to take home for later. The crab enchiladas were very flavorful and I left the plate spotless. For desert we had the fried ice cream. It brought back fond childhood memories with delight to my taste buds. Thank you Chris for the great customer service and we’ll see you again soon.

Thank you me fellow Unilocalers! This place is amazing! I had the seafood sampler, grilled lobster dinner and a mudpie to seal the deal! The sampler came out pipping hot and the oyster Rockefeller are literally to die for! Lobster was tender, fresh and delicious! Service was amazing and food was even better! I will be back every time I come to Palm Springs

Went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary dinner. We went on a Saturday night and was seated rather quickly. We ordered the seafood sampler, New Orleans oysters, crab enchilada and Luis’ special. The seafood sampler was great. The clams were very flavorful, the mushrooms were creamy and juicy, and the coconut shrimp was delightful. The New Orleans oysters is a must try. Though the oysters were pretty small, the sauce makes up for it as it was delicious. The crab enchilada was pretty good but isnt anything special. Luis’ special was a perfect blend of marinara sauce and creaminess. The seafood was fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Our server Daniel was very attentive and made multiple accommodations for us. Without him, our experience wouldnt have been nearly as great. The whole vibe of the restaurant was very homey and provides a great atmosphere for a good time.

This place was deliciousssss– We are on vacation and this restaurant was full of employees and guests who were extremely welcoming and friendly. My boyfriend and I sat at the table facing the open kitchen, and experienced a very interactive table of guests as well as a talkative and talented cooking crew. Ozzy was behind the counter and made sure all of our food was ready quickly and continuously checked on us(as well as all the other guests). Seafood cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. Highly recommend! We are only in Palm Springs a total of 2 nights/3 days yet still will likely return here to eat again before we leave!

Seafood in the desert? Yup. Ruben and Ozzy’s does a great job. Not the greatest service when we were there, mostly a lot of waiting, but not everything can be perfect all the time. We still had a very nice meal and left happy. Food: Started with a vodka oyster shooter, which is my kinda start to am eal. The missus ordered the Oysters Rockefeller, which to me is for people who like the idea of oysters but don’t really want to taste them. Cheesy, saucy, spinach-y, and couldn’t even tell you if there was an oyster in there. Still a tasty bite, of course. Next time I’d just go with oysters on the half shell to enjoy all to myself! I ordered Ruben’s special, which was pasta with a whole pile of shellfish. Shrimp, scallops, crab, mussels, and clams in a garlic, basil, tomatoes, green onions, and white wine sauce with linguine. I loved it. The missus went with the seafood fettucine and dug it with a big shovel: sautéed shrimp, crab, scallops, mushrooms, tomatoes & green onions served over fettuccine alfredo. After all that seafood, washed down with cold beers, there was absolutely no room for dessert. Note to self: lots of people ordered the fish tacos, so they must be amazing. Service: Started off a bit strange — when we arrived it was busy, and it took what felt like 10 minutes before a server greeted us at the gate to the outdoor patio(no other designated place to wait as far as I could tell). We eventually were seated at the bar, which is my favorite place to be anyway, and then waited another 10 minutes to place a drink order. Lots of action in the open kitchen, so we were well entertained. Then more waiting before we could order food. Eventually we just asked one of the cooks if we could place an order and he was happy to oblige. We were on vacation and not pressed for time, so it wasn’t a big deal, but locals take note. Vibe: Seafood-in-the-desert-chill. This is the kind of place you would always feel comfortable going to. We had a mellow night, but if you want to get loud, I get the feeling you could. I recommend sitting at the bar and watching the cooks do their thing. They’re pretty wicked rad. Family-friendly: Sure, if your kids like seafood. Didn’t look for kids menu items since we were on a date-night, but I am pretty sure with pasta and some chicken and beef dishes on the menu you could find lots of things for the kids to eat. Summary: I’ll check out Ruben and Ozzy’s each time we go to Palm Springs. Great food, cool vibe. Have a seat at the bar, order an oyster shooter, and enjoy.

I was very impressed with Ruben and Ozzy’s. We stayed in Palm Springs during the week, and it’s pretty dead. Finding restaurants that were open past 9pm was hard, but Ruben & Ozzy’s was open and very good! We sat outside and the waitress was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We started with drinks — I had a chelada(beer and clamato) and Larry S. had one of those margaritas with a beer in it. They have a late night happy hour where much of the food is discounted by around $ 5. We had the mussles, the fried artichokes and a seafood pasta, which they brought out on two plates since we were sharing. The food was excellent and the ambiance on the patio was really pleasant. Coupled with great service, this one is a winner!

This place is worthy of the great reviews. Awesome food and service and since it’s a little off the main area parking is super easy to find. I had the grilled shrimp tacos and they were really good. The pasta dishes are very fresh and not overly saucy. You cannot go wrong here.

Great spot for seafood. We had the mexican poke(it was ok. I had high expectation since everyone raved about it.), fish taco, shrimp taco and the alfredo pasta. I loved the shrimp taco. We were so full we couldn’t finish the pasta but it was really good. We went fairly early so the food came out pretty quickly. They were very attentive.

A friendly place. The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. My buds and I shared the items we selected. We got a lot of food and the price per portion was excellent. Enough for everyone to sample in our group.

Alright, alright alriiiight you gon’ learn today! *Kevin Hart voice* Located a street away from the strip and within walking distance of hard rock. Parking is available in front or around the corner in a parking lot. The front of the oyster bar is welcoming with outside seating for those cool evenings or winter afternoons. The host can seat you inside or outside and even secure bar seats for you. I came here with a total party of 5 and sat at the bar because we’re all some grown men! The owner of the restaurant was behind the bar cooking up the food and taking orders, so he most definitely ensured a great time! They also had happy hour in the evening till closing so we showed up at the right time(9pm). My buddy was the regular to this bar and said they had the best fish tacos; really helped that he built a rapport with the owner as well. I ordered a shrimp, chicken, fish, and oyster taco because I had to get a good taste of their food. I also had a beer and a Mangorita because that’s how I get down haha The tacos were all on point, but the shrimp taco was the best out of the bunch! The Mangorita wasn’t blended so I was disappointed upon initial sight of it, but it tasted great. Oh and just an FYI they have the best garlic bread in the whole valley! Plus being free definitely helped too. Perfect ambience for an oyster bar with some fire tacos. The staff went above and beyond in service. They do birthday celebrations with a giant sombrero so that was fun to see my friend get surprised with. The prices were high for one taco, but was expected because of the location. They only had one coed restroom with a broken paper towel dispenser, so expect a line if they get busy. Overall 5 stars despite having restroom issue coming into play this evening, they were firing on all cylinders! Highly recommended for seafood!

We were trying to find somewhere to eat while on vacation in Palm Springs and I’m so happy I checked Unilocal and found this restaurant! We got there around 8pm on a Sunday night, and we were seated almost immediately outside. Per the recommendation of other Unilocalers, we went with the Mexican Poke and Half Shell Oysters for appetizers. They were both amazing– I can’t even describe the deliciousness in words. For dinner, the four of us each got our own fish taco and they were excellent. The grilled fish was moist and tender, while the toppings added a nice zing and crunch. We also shared a seafood Kebob and Ruben’s special for entrees and both were also delicious! Seafood in both entrees was fresh and seasoned to perfection. Overall, there wasn’t one thing that I didn’t enjoy. Definitely have to check this place while you’re in the area– won’t be let down!

Went here for dinner this past weekend. I will say that the place was really great. I’m not a huge seafood fan but they did a great job. Granted I had shrimp that are the seafood equivalent to chicken nuggets, but they were good. As was the linguine Alfredo that came with the dinner. But honestly what impressed me the most was the bartender. We went to get a couple of drinks while waiting to be seated and I watched him making drinks. I noticed that when he made a complex drink like a mojito he would grab a straw and use it to take a few drops out of the glass and taste it before he sent it out to the customer. That truly impressed me to no end. I would recommend this place!

My wife, three kids, and I stopped here for dinner on a Friday night as we made our way to LA. The location is perfect, and we got a table right away. We had the calamari appetizer, and I had an oyster shooter to start. The calamari is not your typical deep fried crunch mess you get at most other places. The shooter was ok, not the best. The kids ordered off the kid menu, two had the chicken strips and one the fried fish. The strips were your classic deep fried battered hunk of chicken, but the fish was lightly battered and tasty. I had a grilled fish taco, which was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the crab enchiladas, which were ok and a bit on the salty side. Overall, the service was great, location awesome, and food ranging from ok to awesome.

After reading all the great reviews, this place was a must! Walked in without a wait on a Fri night about 8.(It’s walking distance from Best Western Las Brisas.) Sat in the outdoor, heated patio area. Our server was friendly and prompt. Husband and I couldn’t decide between the fresh oysters or oysters Rockefeller. Server said to go with the New Orleans oysters. We ordered that, plus cioppino, the Ruben special, and a dirty Pacifico. The server accidently brought me the Ozzy special, and I didn’t realize it after taking the first bite. Without hesitation, he took it back and I got the right order in less than 5 minutes, as my husband enjoyed his cioppino. My husband’s reaction to the NO oysters after his first bite was, «Oh my gosh, it’s awesome!» That’s a great response, especially from him since he doesn’t get that excited about food. We loved the food and would go back again. The price is fair, since the quality and portion of food deserves it!

The family ended up going here three nights for dinner because of the food and service(way to go, Carlos!). We all had the Flat Iron Steak and would recommend it to anyone wanting a steak with great flavor(tasted like midwest beef!!). The side is either Rice Pilaf or Pasta and Steamed Broccoli. Everything is cooked to perfection. For $ 17.95, you just can’t beat it! Sit outside and enjoy the weather and people watching and chill with the Palm Springs vibe.

With solid seafood fare, Ruben and Ozzy’s is a place I would recommend to eat in Palm Springs. During my short stay in Palm Springs, I had not really planned the food situation so I simply went for the best rated spots on Unilocal. With perhaps the best reviews for«dinner,» it was easily one of my first choices. Although there have been times where I have been burned by simply choosing the best rated, Ruben and Ozzy’s had some great seafood that is worth coming back for. Here are the things I tried: Mexican Poke(appetizer): A unique twist on the traditional Hawaiian poke that was good but nothing great. For those unaware, poke is sliced pieces of fish typically tuna marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil and served with rice. For their version, the poke mixture also includes avocados atop a hot sauce and served with fresh chips. Although I do like the addition of the avocados to provide a nice smooth texture, I have had similar versions of this at other poke places. Unfortunately, I felt the poke was overall a little salty with the soy sauce and I wish there was a clearer presence of the hot sauce to really make it something truly unique and different. Campechana(appetizer): Basically a ceviche on roids, the campechana is a Mexican seafood cocktail that I would recommend. Filled with shrimp, crab, and scallops cooked in a cool lime and tomato broth, the quantity and quality of the seafood was awesome. In addition to the seafood, there were slices of the cucumber which provided a nice crunchy contrast to the equally refreshing avocado bits. My only criticism for this was that they provided saltine crackers to eat it. Although there is a lot of interesting flavors going on, it would have helped to a more substantial vehicle to hold and eat the seafood like a nice hot tortilla chip! Seafood kabob: With great pieces of seafood on the kabob, I would say this is another recommend. Among the typical vegetable kabob fare(onion and peppers), there was a shrimp, scallop, and fish of the day(for me, halibut). Everything here was grilled well and I particularly loved the halibut which was super juicy and not overly fishy. I did have a slight problem with the scallop which was a little salty, but otherwise good. The kabob is served with a orange chili sauce, but I felt like the meat and vegetables were better served without its overpowering flavors. The service was pretty attentive. Parking is available on the street. Overall, although Ruben and Ozzy’s food is not without flaws, they definitely know how to highlight the seafood to make it a recommended site in Palm Springs.

Gute bodenständige Seafood. Die Austern waren etwas klein, aber geschmacklich sehr gut. Die Preise sind leider überdurchschnittlich hoch im Vergleich zur Größe der Portionen.
