Had the oysters and flank steak. Very basic with limited menu. Service was good though.

Everything here was amazing and vegetarian friendly. The vegetable tartar and mushroom soup were to die for. The service was good. For vegetarians and organic meat eaters, this is the perfect place.

Once again Zin SCORES big with me!!! We brought my daughter and grandson here for the first time last night. As always Nicole helped us find the perfect table!!! And our server, Carlos, was so helpful and accommodating! He had my grandson wrapped around his little finger! The food never disappoints; the ambiance is fun and people watching is always delightful. Thanks again to Nicole and Carlos!!! We will definitely be back again and again!!!

Wow these people run a tight ship. It’s as if they could read my mind. Glass was never empty the whole meal, bathroom was pointed out before I even asked. Bar was well appointed. Prices are quite reasonable, particularly for the quality and quantity of food.

We just came to this place after long journey of finding a brunch place on Mother’s Day 5÷8÷16 Brian was our waiter and he changed our mood from dark hungry pissy mood to happy and satisfied! Thank you!

Had an OK dinner– $ 150 for 2 people. For that price the dinner should have been really good. There were a couple issues that we had, and I was told to take up with the owner because it was out of the hostess and servers’ hands. I have been trying to e-mail + call the owner and haven’t heard anything back at all. While I was hoping for the minimum of a response– she’s made it very clear that she doesn’t care about her customers so we will NOT be returning, nor would we ever ever recommend. Bring your business where it will be appreciated! There’s plenty of other places to eat in Palm Springs and the food is not worth the customer service.

Zin was among the restaurants participating in Dining Out for Life, donating 50% of proceeds which is generous. So we made a reservation. Service was great. We both had the Prix Fixe. Starters(wedge salad and wild mushroom soup) were good, and the dessert, an apricot bread pudding, was very good. But we were both let down by our main courses. I had the beef stew, which had a nice gravy but not very much substance, a few small pieces of beef and carrot, with a few green beans placed on top. It was served with fries, which were fine, though a bit odd, I would have liked potatoes in the stew to make it more substantial. David had the fried chicken, three pieces, small, he wasn’t sure which pieces of the bird, perhaps split thighs, not very meaty, the chicken was tender and moist but the skin wasn’t crispy. Served with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. We both wished it had been better, with the bill for the two of us over $ 100, it just wasn’t to the level we’d hoped for.

— Bar staff is unattentive and not hospitable at all — foie gra is bland and too much onion — place looks out dated and dirty **Save your money for something better. I would never come back here again.

Excellent food and atmosphere. It is our first time in Palm Springs and we couldn’t be happier with this place. Great ambiance if you sit outside. The service is awesome. Our server Aaron was very attentive and professional. The food was amazing. Their buttermilk fried chicken was to die for. Everything is freshly made and delicious. I would recommend Zin to anyone that is in the area. Will defiantly keep coming back. A++!!

Simply said… great food, great service! The patio is lovely and the misters make it very comfortable on a hot day. This is our second year eating at Zin on vacation, and it does not disappoint. Very pleasant experience!

I’d say it’s a solid 3 ½ stars, but I rounded up for service and ambience. Ate here for my 70th birthday 2 weeks ago. We were in Joshua Tree for a few days of hiking, but wanted something a little nicer for a special celebration. Don’t know Palm Springs, so we just went by Unilocal and vibe. Stuck our heads into Lulu across the street, but it was a mob scene — way too loud. Zin was perfect. We got there just after the lunch rush, so it was peaceful and tranquil — no big bustle or loud music. We ate inside — the front patio was nice, but too much traffic going right by. Inside it was a nice ambience for a special meal. The waiter was very attentive. Food was decent — I had the lunch Prix Fixe and it was exquisite. My husband ordered the macadamia chicken. It was tasty, but pounded flat. We were expecting something more tropical and succulent. But it had a good flavor and wasn’t dry, despite the thinness. Only downside: I was feeling like a strawberry daiquiri or margarita — something more festive and fun than my usual wine, but they don’t make them. Would it kill them to own a blender?! The waiter made an over-the-rocks one for me with crushed strawberry, but it just wasn’t the same. Update 3÷31÷16: In response to Mindy of Zin, neither of us realized it was a schnitzel. I mean, it looked like a schnitzel when it arrived, but the waiter who seated us said the«Macadamia Chicken» was a house favorite and his personally, so we decided to try it without looking at it in the menu. Our bad. We weren’t thrilled with the slight strata of raw in the middle, either. We read in other reviews that this is how it’s served, but it was creepy.(My husband has an organ transplant and any sort of raw meat or fish is off-limits, so I ate the center out of his schnitzel and reluctantly shared some of my wonderful chicken salad with him). I do think that one should be offered the option of rare or not. However, still unhappy that there weren’t blender drinks. We’re usually red wine people, but sometimes a special occasion, the weather, or a place like Palm Springs just scream for something fritzy like a daiquiri or margarita. Perhaps you don’t want to be thought of as that kind of superficial watering hole — or to be tied down to more time-consuming and noisy blender drinks when it’s busy — but offering the poor imitation I received was disappointing.

So Sad, Very Bad. Food: Great, Service: Very Good. FALSEADVERTISING: Amazing. I pass the restaurant every day on a three mile stroll with brings me down Palm Canyon Drive. Every day there is a sign on the sidewalk advertising a Sunday thru Thursday two course dinner and 50% off selected wines. Since my wife and I like a good bottle of wine with dinner we made reservations on a Tuesday evening. When the waitress presented us with the menus, I asked which wines were 50% off. She said they did not offer any. All the wines were as marked. I noted the sign only a few feet from our outdoor table but she indicated that was a summer and morning special. I asked for the manager to explain. A few minutes later the sidewalk sign was removed and in a few minutes a manager approached our table. 50% wines? «No we don’t offer that at this time» was his response. I mentioned the sign was out everyday. He said«well its more of a marketing thing». «Yes marketing something that doesn’t exist» I mentioned. He said he was only the manager and that was that. He left the table and we sat there amazed. I returned the next day for my walk and the sign had re-appeared, as it has everyday since. As I mentioned this place has great food, but I question why ownership needs to deceive so blatantly.

Under-cooked organic chicken! Great location, menu looked interesting so we decided to try on our visit to Palm Springs last week. I ordered the organic chicken dinner which was definitely undercooked– meat was still red and would not separate from the bone! When I asked our server to send this back to the kitchen I was informed that this is how they always prepare their organic chicken dishes and that their regular customers ask to have their chicken cooked well done! Did the server inform me about this«well done» cooked option for the chicken when first ordered– of course not! We will not be returning to Zin American Bistro on our next visit to PS! Remember, if your order the chicken ask for«well done»!

They have an amazing Brunch that compares to anywhere in Palm Springs. I’m a local and I eat brunch almost every weekend and explore all the restaurants in town. I usually eat the eggs Benedict and let me tell you I’m an eggs Benedict connoisseur and Zin holds up to anywhere I’ve eaten. I recommend eating here you won’t be let down.

Zin Bistro, right on Palm Springs main drag so this restaurant gets a lot of foot traffic. Ambiance is nice, staff doesn’t seem engaged or focused on customer service, but the that is just me and hubby’s perspective. We made reservations, but when we arrived I don’t think we needed it. Restaurant was half empty at 7:00 prime dinner time, uh red flag #1. We were somewhat greeted by the hostess, seated to our table by the Main Street, which is fine. Waiter seemed just disengaged, not looking at us, just going thru the motions, he would be happier elsewhere. Hostess seemed more happy greeting her friends off the street than engaging with the restaurant patrons, really weird. I had a seafood special of fish stew and mussels, was good. Hubs had the pork medallions, said it was tasty. They have a good wine list, we just see that their location is the best asset of this restaurant. Hostess and wait staff needs to engage with the customers they are serving not be lofty and disengaged, will go elsewhere

Rather than cook dinner for just two of us, Jeff wanted to go out. I had heard wonderful things about Zin, from a colleague. Jeff had been here years ago and thought highly of it, so I made reservations for a Thanksgiving evening dinner. We were seated right away, which I very much appreciated. I’ve often found, even with reservations, you often still end up waiting. We were seated inside, right by the front windows/doors. We were at a 2-person table that was covered with silverware, glasses and bread plates. Not much room. There was a special fixed price menu. There were at least 4 choices for a starter, entrée, and dessert. I chose the wild mushroom soup. This was the best part of my dinner. The soup was a purée of several kinds of mushrooms. It was topped with a truffle oil. The soup had a nice mushroom flavor, but was light. I enjoyed it very much. I was, however, confused by the teaspoon that I was given to eat the soup with. A teaspoon just isn’t really appropriate for soup. I wasn’t going to be a jerk and ask for them to bring me a soup spoon, though. Jeff got a prosciutto salad. The prosciutto was sliced a little thick, but the greens and vinaigrette were a nice accompaniment. Jeff ordered the pork medallions. They were wrapped in bacon. The pork had flavor throughout and was quite tender. I asked for the turkey breast dinner. The amount of turkey was good. The mashed potatoes had mascarpone, but I didn’t really notice it. There were a few perfectly cooked carrots. The cranberry sauce was strange. I didn’t care for the stuffing. It had some sweet elements to it that turned me off. The gravy had a nice saltiness to it. For dessert, I opted for the pumpkin raisin bread pudding. It was nice. Not as heavy as most bread puddings I’ve had. Jeff asked for the chocolate mousse. Super light and heavy with flavor. I should have gotten that instead of the bread pudding. I had to ask for refills for my tea. My water glass was never refilled. Maybe I was just overly critical, but my steak knife was loose. The spoons didn’t match. The bread was smashed down, when it was cut. The herbed butter for the bread was stone cold. Several things that should be on-point just weren’t. I will go back because my coworker enjoys and raves about it often. I think that they maybe got a little off-track due to the holiday.

This place was amazing. My hubby had never been to Palm Springs and I wanted to get him started right. We had the 2 course brunch menu for $ 16.99 and the $ 10 endless mimosas. First of all the service was amazing and prompt. I had the salmon eggs Benedict and the roasted beet salad. Both were amazing. As soon as our glasses were empty the friendly waiter would come right away to refill our glasses. The 10% off with check in was the cherry on top. Both of us loved it here and when we’re back in PS we’ll be sure to visit again.

My boyfriend and I came to Palm Springs for the second time and had no clue where to have dinner, so we tried to Unilocal and found Zin. We ordered oysters, calamari, mussels, hanger steak, a bottle of whine and crime brulle for desert. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent and our food came out very fast. Very yummy and at a really great price!

A lot of restaurants are closed for the summer in Palm Springs, so my friend was driving around trying to find one that would be good for lunch. We ended up here and sat outside in patio underneath the mist sprays. I was getting weak and couldn’t even sit up straight… After drinking some water and stuffing myself with the complimentary bread, I felt much better! We wanted something light, so my other friend and I shared the Schnitzel and I also tried the Zin bites, and had sips of the Strawberry Julep. The margarita was really strong and expensive! The Schnitzel was pretty good, but Zin bites were better. The bites were basically mini beef Wellingtons of filet mignon, goat cheese, and Zinfandel shallot sauce. Service was okay, but if you decide to dine at this award winning restaurant, sit out in the patio since it is an ideal spot for people watching.
