I’m really not a BBQ person but I heard from friends this place is good. We are in town w Pacific Baptist School for the Lancaster Fine Arts Competition. Having dinner w Pastor Meyers and the Ambriz family. Would rate this 4.5 stars. I wish the cheese was melted over my steak potato. The meat was nice and tender. We had a half rack of ribs and beef brisket. Would definitely come by when in town again. Jorge liked the jalapeño beans but I didn’t get any jalapeño in it. It wasn’t even spicy. They should change the name… The temp of my food wasn’t as hot as I would want it. The room needs more circulation. The guy who took our order was sweating behind the counter. That was a bit icky to look at, considering it is a good joint. I read the reviews after agreeing to come. Fortunate for us, we had great service. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Quality of food here is so overhyped its not funny. Meat is insanely dry. Macaroni & cheese and mashed potatoes were alright. Service was good but slow and no one was even there.

Went back a few days ago and got met with awful customer service. The girl working behind the counter rolled her eyes and talked to you like how dare you come in her restaurant. All our sides were half full and the rib dinner was mostly bone and we didnt get our drink. Complained via fb and got messages and an offer for 25% off a future order and a free yellow cup that wasn’t included in my order. When I told the person I was talking to on fb about my sides being half full they stopped messaging. Waste of time and money. I won’t be back.

We love Dickey’s! This area has suffered for years from subpar and chain food options. The food at Dickey’s is delish and the staff is always kind and happy. I do think they could make some improvements in the store in terms of cleanliness as it is a bit dark and drab, but all in all, we are definitely fans. The ribs literally fall of of the bone and the portions are satisfying to say the least. We always have leftovers :)

Since we don’t really have any other BBQ fast food restaurants to compare this to, I’d say it is average. My family has eaten at this location approx 8 – 10 times and the consistency of the meat seems to vary dramatically(50% of the time it is amazingly delicious and moist, and the other 50% it is the opposite). Don’t eat here if you are going in with a particular selection in mind because they run out of quite a few different items(to include sides). Be flexible! It’s a roll of the dice.

I had the ribs, but I did not like the sauce. It was too«vinegary» for my taste, since I’m more into sweet/hickory flavor. I also tried the brisket, but it was very dry and they also used the same sauce. The sides and the rolls were just okay. I’d say the best thing for me was the fried okra, but that’s about it. I know other people love this place, but it just isn’t for me. The staff are real friendly and attentive though.

OK… I was completely unjaded and wanting to give this place a try… sorry we didn’t just dine elsewhere. When we walked in it «smelled like we were getting ready to have a great BBQ experience! We ordered the«half-slab»(pork ribs) & one Hot link, because we had plenty of «sides» at home from Thanksgiving dinner. Once home we opened the container and looked at each other with a «that’s it» look on our faces… well here we go… The ribs were bone DRY! I tried them w/o sauce first to see if I’d like the seasoning… nope! Then tried w/sauce which was very Ketchup and vinegary, not the sticky sweet I was expecting. The link was Hot/spicy. My husband and I were very disappointed. He made the comment that«this BBQ was just a couple hours away from being«Jerky.» I don’t know what it is they do to remove all of the juiciness but they should stop! We will not be going back… EVER!

I like Dickey’s BBQ and this was my first visit to this store, but not sure when I will be back. Compared to the one in Santa Clarita they had much larger sized potatoes(got a stuffed potato with pulled pork in it) than the one where I live. The sauce cups were also about three times the size of the ones I am used to and man do they have good BBQ sauce(personal favorite is the spicy… I like it hot… lol) More seating too, so all in all a good place to have BBQ lunch.

I’m surprised by the negative comments here because this place exceeded my expectations. Ordered the meat plates. Brisket was delicious. Chicken was slightly above average. Spicy cheddar sausage was surprisingly delicious! Baked beans were just baked beans. Mac and cheese was above average. The green beans and bacon were probably some of the best I’ve ever had! If I’m ever in the area and craving BBQ, I’d come here before going back to the BBQ place in Tehachapi.

Food takes good. The customer service sucks. They talk way to soft so you can’t understand what their saying. Plus the lady was talking shit under her breath about coustmer in front of me at soda fountain. Not comming back. But I’ll give them the benefit of doubt on anyone else that want to try them for first time.

Okay, so first of all if you are going to write a review of how bad the food is, be specific. We didn’t care for the beef. The chicken, turkey and pork are all great though. The sides are all very good too. Saw a previous review that said the chicken was dry. ??? It is chicken. It is naturally low in fat. It is smoked. That’s what sauce is for. Jackass. Christian like. 4 paws up. Bruce like. 5 paws up.
I am surprised this place doesn’t have more great reviews. Only down fall is the long lines and wait since always busy. They have great specials on weekdays but if you come on Sunday which we did, not only busy but staff seems to mix up orders at times so be careful and very specific. Overall great food every time, kids love the soft serve machine and we love the to go cups! Dishwasher safe and reusable which is great. Very costly for a weekend but the weekday specials are great. Either way, well worth it. Definitely tastes like down home bbq cooking! This place tops famous Dave’s any day!

This place is always packed. Tonight was no exception. What were we thinking coming on a Sunday. Kids eat free today!!! I had the pulled pork sandwich. Ken got the brisket and polish sausage. Sides were potato salad, jalapeño baked beans and Mac n cheese. The only thing NOT wonderful wad the potato salad… it was“runny«to much mayo and not enough taste. We will be back… We enjoy it!

I’ll agree that Dickey’s ISNOT the best BBQ, but 2.5 Star average… damn you guys put this place on blast! I will also say right off the bat I don’t like their ordering system, it get’s backed up from the beginning as you place your order, they have a guy slicing and weighing out each portion of meat, so he slices and weighs a meat, then puts it away and pulls out another, repeat, repeat TAKESTOOLONG! After that you move down and place your side orders, choosing from 12 Classic sides, then pay and your order should soon be ready… IMO they should have someone JUSTTAKINGORDERS, and the line would move faster and not get backed up! The Wife and I shared some food as this was our first time here and with all the BAD reviews we didn’t know what to expect, we ordered the 3-Meat plate which comes with 2-Sides, Roll, Onions and Pickles, we also added ¼-Pound of Hot Link. *(As you can see from my storefront photo this was nighttime, which does not make for good close-ups without flash, I didn’t like the quality so I’m not posting close-ups as I usually do) 3-Meat Combo($ 12.95) + added ¼-lb Hot Link(Top to Bottom, Hot Link, Ham, Brisket & Pulled Pork) Roll, Cole Slaw, Jalapeño Beans and I grabbed(1) of each of their sauces… «I Think» Regular, Spicy, Sweet. I was too busy looking at all that piggy I didn’t realize until after that they forgot to give me the«Onions & Pickles» Top to Bottom in Photo: Hot Link — More like a slightly spicy link, good snap nice smoke flavor/taste. Ham — Honey glazed BBQ smoked ham, what’s not to love! Brisket — Hickory smoked Beef, nice flavor though the beef was a bit overcooked. Pulled Pork — Slow smoked Southern style Pulled Pork is their claim, good but a bit dry Roll — Good Cole Slaw — Moist with pretty good flavor Jalapeño Beans — Imma Frijolero and approve of these beans! Best BBQ — NO, a NEW Business with a few minor issues YES, food is above average and worth a try!(3.5-Stars) don’t forget Pancho says: Get the Jalapeño Beans!

Based off of the smell alone when waking through the doors, you know you are in a good place. My hubby and I braved the grand opening dinner line to try the newest BBQ joint on the block. People were happily eating, some even snacking on the complimentary ice cream dessert while waiting in line to order. Hubby got the three meat plate(brisket, pork, spicy cheddar sausage), and I the westerner sandwich with brisket and pork. All the food was so good, simple, and satisfying. Our sides of fried onions, baked potato casserole, green beans with bacon, and coleslaw were also right on the money. Free soft serve for dessert? Yes please! We’ll be back. For sure. Update — I’m going to give this place four stars because the lines get really, really obnoxiously long and the staff seems to have no giddy up and go. When someone orders a family pack, you’ll be waiting for so damn long.
