My first visit for breakfast. I had a delicious muffin and my friend had a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was very good, I had a soy latte

This place is close to my gym and very convenient to walk or bike to. I often come here to study and get work done after yoga. Tables are large with outlets and wifi. The coffee is great for productivity. Also, good pastries and salads to munch on while working/studying. The chopped salad café size is my staple. I used to frequent the one in West LA and it is always nice to have a familiar menu for quick ordering wherever you go.

Nice atmosphere and good food! Good breakfast menu! The egg scramble was light and fresh. No grease here! Breakfast potatoes excellent. My 15yo son had a breakfast panini and wanted another. Great surprise after other subpar local places which Unilocal people like.

There aren’t too many of these places in the Bay, so I’ve only been here twice. But I do have to say that the 2 sandwiches I tried, were spot on! It’s location in Palo Alto is somewhat tucked away, so I can see how the name of this place isn’t as familiar or popular as a place like Panera Bread. On both visits, their staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! I probably asked about 3 or 4 sandwiches on their menu, and they were able to give me their candid feedback on each one of them. Here is the line-up: Uptown Turkey — 5 Stars Sliced Meatball on Sourdough — 5 Stars Twisted Lemon Pie — 4 Stars Monster Cookie — 4 Stars The sandwiches were perfectly made. The Uptown Turkey was very tasty, and had the perfect amount of meat, bacon, produce, and mayo! As plain as that description sounds, it is one of the BEST turkey sandwiches I’ve had in a while. The Sliced Meatball sandwich was my favorite of the 2! The sliced meatballs were so tasty it tempts you to yank em’ out of the bread and devour them! The provolone cheese and light marinara sauce pairs very well! The Twisted Lemon Pie and Monster Cookie were packed with lemon and chocolatey goodness! From the very first bite it is evident that they are freshly baked! Conclusion: Would I come back? Most definitely! Do they make the best meatball sandwich in the Bay? Most definitely! Should YOU give them a shot? Most definitely!

This place is just like Panera where they serve paninis, pasta, salads, and combos of said sort. I had the chicken pomodori panini and it was yummy. Husband also loved his meatball sandwich that had dipping sauce on the side. We got to trying their lemon bar and fudge brownie for dessert. The brownie is really good where it doesn’t get too sweet. However, the lemon bar gets sweet after 3 bites. No joke. But after drinking ice tea, I was ready to go for more bites. It’s definitely a good place to go for brunch, lunch or dinner since they have so many options. Update 3÷18÷16: My husband and I love this place. We love going here for dinner and brunch because the food is so good, service is fast, and you get more bang for the buck.

Nice Anaheim scramble, I visited 3 times on this trip to Palo Alto, good every time. I also enjoyed the turkey/bacon/tomato/cheese panini for launch. Good food, good value. Recommended!

Although this place is spacious for lounging around with free wifi, the service can be slow and the menu options may or may not entice you. Although the baked goods are limited with a few novelties(e.g., rugalach, bundt cakes, cinnamon crème cake), none are memorable in terms of freshness, flavor, and texture. The bread that goes with the soups, which tend to be salty, is soft with some seasoning, but would totally appreciate it if it were warm and/or toasted. The staff either gets your order right or not. However, I do appreciate the helpful suggestions and follow up on what’s missing from your order as well as any special gestures/offers to help ensure the customer is satisfied and/or happy.

This place is decent. Its similar enough to Panera and Specialtys to know what the lay of the land is like, but different enough to put on the list of places to go. The do have breakfast all day which is a definite plus, and they have a very big menu of sandwich-panini-flatbreads to choose from. They also have gluten free ways to sub out the bread for any of the items too. Also on the menu are soups, salads and some pasta items. The desserts are just ok. I can’t say I loved anything I got. They looked good, they smelled good — but when it came to an amazing taste in your mouth it was really not so great. I had a blueberry hand-pie thing, and the blueberry was so gross. Over saturated in sweetness and gooey like some terrible bad jam. The pastry dough was plain and too doughy and not flakey enough to be decent. It was just really bad. Everyone else enjoyed their food who I was with but no one was«wow this is amazing». I did get the remark from one of the guests«is this like a panera?» so, there it is. Parking is deceiving, it looks like there is a small parking lot but there is a ton more parking in the back of the lot when you enter. Also, they moved the handicapped parking with formal signs and bright painted symbols to a different location but left the faded old painted handicapped marks on the now not-handicapped area, so score on parking in front if you see it vacant. If you are in the area on El Camino and are passing a ton of fast food and see this place, need a quick sandwich or soup, come on in, its a decent place. If you are looking for a truly foodie sandwich experience this isn’t it. Also, good for groups they have lots of tables you can mash together and some group booths.

TIP: Check your order over. Mine was royally messed up, which I didn’t learn until I unpacked it at work. I ordered a whole chicken sandwich to go, the only thing I asked for was to add mustard. Instead, I had a sandwich doused in mayo — the menu doesn’t even list mayo as an ingredient. A couple other meals were messed up, too, not just mine. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt — it’s lunchtime, they’re busy… — but when it’s the one thing I cannot eat, and I’m starving and counting on my order to be correct… :-( I was able to pick out a few pieces of chicken that weren’t covered in mayo and it was good, but I had to survive on two bags of potato chips and a fruit cup before I could get to real food. The kicker was that BOTH sides of bread were slathered in mayo, not just one side. Even my coworkers got a good laugh out of that.

A competitor to Panera Bread has now arrived! And, it brings great tasting chili and sandwiches! And oh, their raisin pecan crisps are simply delicious! It’s a shame Panera no longer offers their steak chili because I now have a new place to get my chili fix!

I love their asian salad! But not so much their pasta. I got their carbonara to go and it was very bland! The food was ready in 5 mins so I’m suspicious whether it is premade and not cooked fresh :( Oh well I will just come back for their asian salad.

Not bad. Someone wanted to meet here for a lunch meeting one day, and I was not really sure what I was getting into when I got there. I had previously been to the Corner Bakery to grab a cookie once while on a walk at work, but I had never had lunch there before. The Corner Bakery is essentially chain restaurant that definitely reminded me of Panera. You order at the counter, grab a number, and then sit down and then they deliver you your food. They have a nice selection of salads, soups, pastas, sandwiches, etc. Place is pretty spacious and there was actually quite a bit of traffic going in on a Monday lunch which surprised me. I got the café sized pesto cavatappi. Their dishes come in either café or entrée size. Café is the smaller, and I frankly found it to be super filling. The cavatappi was actually quite good! I really enjoyed it and the pesto flavor was pretty good as well. Definitely a very heavy and filling dish. I went in thinking the quality might be meh since it was a random chain on the side of El Camino, but left pretty content with the quality of food. I’d actually maybe come back to this place if I was ever just feeling some cheap, simple, but good and filling food. tldr; pretty good lunch deals — filling and delicious for a cheap price, not just breakfast foods, also good lunch options!

Yes, I know that Corner Bakery Café is a chain, similar to Panera, but what they do, they do well, and we are frequent customers. I get that some people will say their menu is formulaic and a touch limiting. But I really find that for breakfast, you get really good quality here for very inexpensive prices. My go-to breakfast meal here is the Anaheim Panini: a scrambled egg sandwich with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. I add the steel-cut oatmeal side for another $ 1, and that fills me up beyond belief. A quality meal for $ 6…not sure where you can go in Palo Alto to get that. A quick aside on steel-cut oatmeal: If you haven’t had this recently, and you’re thinking: «Oatmeal. Meh.», then I ask you to go out and grab a steel-cut oatmeal and try it with some maple syrup or brown sugar. Most people have had the quick or rolled oats oatmeal, and for that, the reaction of «Meh» is completely understandable. But Steel-Cut Oatmeal is very different… the texture and crunch is much better, and I really like it. But — this is not a review on SC Oatmeal, I know. For a $ 1 add-on at Corner Bakery, it’s a Steal, and you can probably skip lunch. Any criticisms of Corner? Well, I suppose I do have one. Somehow they set up a weird internal traffic flow, where all of the walking paths seem to awkwardly intersect in the same area by the counters. So, people who are going to the kitchen, the drinks, the bathrooms, the different sections of the restaurant, and the order counter itself all seem to pass through the same area. They should fix that. They have given us good service, consistently. The parking is plentiful. Best breakfast value we have found in town. That’s the main selling point for me.

Very big restaurant either comfy booths and tables. Came here early for a light meal with many options to choose from. I would say it is similar to Panera in terms of the selection choice they have. Would recommend getting a combo of either a sandwich or pasta with side salad, the portion sizes are very big! Prices are not that bad and are pretty reasonable. Has its own parking lot so parking is very convenient. Would recommend for those who want a light lunch. It is a nice sit down restaurant to enjoy the view and to just relax as the booth seats are very comfy! Food is seasoned well and the sides were decently portioned. Service was quick and very nice! Quick tip: do the survey on the receipt and get a free cookie! :)

Similar to panera bread. If you’re into that, then you will like it here. This place has decent sandwiches however I would stay away from anything that isn’t a sandwhich. We got chicken parmesean and marinara pasta. They were really basic food and was embarrassingly overpriced for a neighborhood restaurant. You would pay $ 12 for a chicken parmesean at an olive garden or something similar but I would not make the mistake of ordering that here again. The portion was bite sized for something that calls itself an entrée. You finished in 3 bites. Each bite is $ 4. Again, stay away from this overpriced restaurant. Stick to the sandwiches. And still be prepared to pay more than you would expect. Not recommended.

Corner bakery is big, spacious, and makes great comfort food. It’s the perfect place when you’ve exhausted all of your other options and just want a good, reasonably priced, homestyle meal. We have conversations that start like this: «How about sushi?» «Too expensive.» «How about Chinese?» «Too greasy.» «Italian? Mexican? Burgers?» «Too fancy. Not in the mood. Too far. Plus I have to do some work tonight» Enter Corner Bakery. They have pastas, paninis, baked goods, and it’s all bundled with good service. Parking is always plentiful, and they have free wi-fi if you need to do a bit of extra work while you’re there. The wi-fi isn’t the fastest ever, but it’ll get your main job done. It can also be a bit drafty if you’re there for a long time, so bring a sweater or something if you’re that type of person. The food won’t knock you off your socks, but at these prices who cares? We have a few dishes we love and will go there when we crave those dishes. We love the Chicken Parm Dinner, but I’m also partial to the Carbonara pasta, the Pesto Cavatappi Hearty Pasta and the Chicken Pomodori panini, You can get each of these for under $ 10, around $ 9 or so.

I always have this dilemma where I see a couple of salads on a menu and want to try more than one but have to wait till the next time I come back, or hope that a friend orders a different one and is willing to share. But problem solved at Corner Bakery Café! They have this thing called the Specialty Salads Trio and you get to pick three salads from their list of specialty salads. I love this. The first time I went to Corner Bakery, I got the trio and picked the cavatappi pasta salad, the mozzarella tomato arugula salad, and the sesame kale salad. The second time I went I got the trio again and got three different salads: the southwest avocado, the Asian edamame, and the quinoa pico. Everything tasted really fresh and was really yummy. The portions for each are like a side salad, so with all three, it’s like eating an entrée-size salad. And it comes with a piece of bread. You can also just pick two of the specialty salads and get a bowl of soup(they offer a variety of soups as well). I also like that not everything is a «green-leaf vegetable-only» salad, but they offer things like avocado and quinoa! They’ve got a pretty big menu, with salads, sandwiches, soups, and pasta dishes. And they’ve got a bunch of pastries on display at the counter. The last time I went, they had free samples of their cinnamon bread. Tasty! They even offer breakfast stuff but I don’t know if they stop serving those at a specific time. There’s outdoor seating and wi-fi, and they have their own private parking lot, though it’s not huge. I thought the customer service was pretty excellent. After you order, they give you a card with a number on it and you stick it on the metal thingie at the table you sit at(you pick your own table) and they bring you your food. The interior of this place is kind of bleh — not cute, not modern or chic. But the food is great and this location really is on a corner!
