This is a delayed review, but I went to Jenny for a haircut over a year ago and she was great! I was actually late for the appointment but she was very sweet and worked on my hair anyway. The layers came out beautifully. Six months later, I went to get a hair cut and the hairdresser asked«Who cut your hair? The layers are beautiful. I want to be careful with an already good haircut.» So props to Jenny!

I’ve been coming to Jenny for haircuts for the past three years and have nothing but good things to say about her and her salon. She is efficient and attentive with great attention to detail, and very flexible on the scheduling front. The haircuts themselves are uniformly top-notch, and the salon is clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Overall, everything you could want for your monthly haircut, and at a reasonable price by Palo Alto standards. I plan to keep coming here for as long as I’m in the area.

Jenny is fast and efficient as usual. I see her more often during the summer because it is super hot in Palo Alto! She remembers what I like and always give me great haircuts. Call to make an appointment in advance. Your 6th haircut is free!

Jenny is well versed in all styles, does a fabulous job and is flexible on scheduling and little details. I used to think the amount of time a cut took determined its value. As Jenny is quick with her work, I now see that what you walk out the door with is what matters!

Jenny did a great job of listening to what I wanted and delivering, and I’m very satisfied with the results. I also appreciated her speed and efficiency, and my hair never felt this soft after a color. She was able to retain my hair length, just cutting dead ends and creating layers. The cost was a bit more than I anticipated, but still a good value.

Solid cuts. Quick and to the point. She’s able to understand what I want each time and deliver it to me. This is really a $ 40 hair cut that only costs $ 25.

Jenny does an absolutely phenomenal job for a more than affordable price! After moving to California and taking a look at Unilocal,I decided to give Jenny a try. Now, at least for myself, it’s near impossible to articulate exactly how I would like my hair cut. The only explanation I provided Jenny with was«shorter than it is now.» Sure enough, she took a little off of each area, paying close attention to detail and my hair looked perfect, especially when styled. I highly recommend Jenny if you’re in the market for something fast, easy and inexpensive. I now have reoccurring appointments every month and haven’t visited another salon since. Thanks Jenny! Keep up the good work!

This is reflecting an update on my first post. My hair was BUTCHERED by Jenny!!! I had to trim several pieces of hair on my left side and there is a patch of hair in the back that I can’t trim. I can’t believe she did such a shotty job. So unhappy. Seriously can’t figure out why women go to her. She takes 10 minutes and doesn’t even try. Wow. I feel super ripped off.

It’s not that Jenny isn’t a good hairdresser, but for the quality of service, it’s probably closer to a $ 20 rather than a $ 45. I also went just for a trim(already had shoulder-length hair) so $ 45 seems exorbitant. Pros: Great wash, great massage, just wish it’s longer, hah! Used only scissors and comb, no layering scissors(yikes). Very quick. Actual haircut was less than 5 min? The drying took up bulk of the time. Hair is soft after haircut. I couldn’t really understand her questions about how I want to cut my hair. But show her a picture and mutual understanding is reached. Cons: Rather rough handling of hair. For example, while attaching/removing the clips, my hair was snagged almost every time. Instead of blowdrying manually after the wash, she used a hairdrying stand which I thought left my hair really flat. She did blow dry«a little» after she was done, but the effects are still compromised. Hence…I don’t think I’ll come back. For the same quality, there are definitely cheaper options.

I was in search of a new place for haircut after moving back to the South Bay recently, and made an appointment for men’s haircut with Jenny, after seeing the generally good reviews I found on Unilocal.I guess I will not be coming back here, and here are the reasons: 1) Another customer walked in right after I sat down for my appointment, and Jenny asked him to wait 5 minutes.(Wait, what?! 5 minutes?) 2) I had stitches on the side of my head from a childhood injury. As a result, the scar will show up if the hair is cut too short. While it makes for an interesting story and great ice-breaker, I still prefer a professional look without said scar due to the nature of my job — I work with clients and senior executives at many companies. Despite my repeated requests and warnings, Jenny still cut the hair too short. 3) Furthermore, when I pointed out this problem, Jenny became very defensive and noted that another spot at the top of my head shows more skin than the concerned area. Way to win your customers’ heart! 4) She used a comb and electric clipper for the entire time. The cutoff at my neck was very abrupt and felt sensitive for 2 days after the cut(slight skin irritation from damage… I hope she sanitizes her equipment, but I didn’t see any indication of this). I had to enlist the help of a friend to smooth out this abrupt neck line a bit, so that I looked like a working professional, and someone with no sense of pride or self-awareness. 5) There was a lot of random hair that was longer than how she cut the rest of the hair. They were a pain for me to fix on my own. Come here if you need a very quick haircut and don’t need to leave the house much. At $ 19 for a 5 minute haircut, I could have received a better and cheaper experience if I had gone to Supercuts. I guess $ 20 doesn’t really buy me much in terms of a haircut these days. I hope your experience will be much better than mine.

I came here for a couple of months ago when I first moved to the area on an Saturday morning. The stylist was really nice, but I would never come here again! I asked for 2 – 3 inches and gave very specific instructions as to what I wanted, but I ended up with 6 – 8 inches less of hair. It took me 2 months to get back to a length where I could get the shape fixed and it will take me at least 6 months to get back to the length I was at. Jenny did not charge me anything since I was so upset that my hair was all gone and the cut was all wrong. In addition, there were several things I did not like: — She took 3 customers(one late appointment, 2 walk-ins) in between cutting my hair even though I had an appointment. — She finished my cut after my hair was all dry(while I waited under the blower for her to finish with the other customers). — I don’t think she was cleaning her instruments between customers or using new ones, so you. Yuck! It might be a good place to go if you are a guy or a child looking for a cheap haircut, but if you care about what your hair looks like you shouldn’t come here.

Love this place! Jenny is awesome, the store is quiet, and the prices are affordable! She definitely is a master in her craft and saved me from a disaster hair cut. I had extensions and she blended them with my real hair so it looked pretty natural.

Jenny was very very fast on trimming my hair. Only took her about 5 mins to get it done. Another 10 mins to straighten with a iron straightener. It looked good. One star off because I wouldn’t call it a one $ sign price. I spent $ 45($ 40 haircut, $ 5 tips, hair is about shoulder length). Although it’s kinda expected in Palo Alto, I was expecting somewhat cheaper.

Jenny is my new go-to gal for haircuts in PA! Thanks to Unilocal,I’m so happy I found this little gem. When I arrived Hugo washed my hair and gave me a short scalp and neck massage. I could have fallen asleep easily! Within minutes I was in the chair and Jenny was cutting away like a true master. She works quickly and is super efficient and knows how to work with thick, straight, slippery Asian hair! Shampoo, conditioner, scalp massage, hair cut, blow dry, and style all in 30 minutes?! This place gets major props and for only $ 35? I’m in love. There are no frills here. No free water or wine while you wait and no fancy décor, but that’s not my sort of thing anyways. Can’t wait to come back!

It was ALRIGHT… I gave them a good tip because I saw they were trying very hard. But I came out with bangs that made me look like a doll — not a good thing. For the price(40 + tip — 8 dollars), I can find something better by going somewhere south of the peninsula. Edit — Like the haircut after I washed it. The styling made it too doll-like.

I LOVED my hair cut. I sought out Jenny after reading her reviews on Unilocal.I made an appointment easily and was in the chair within an hour. I asked for a 3 inch trim with layers all around(to get rid of some burnt ends that I had acquired after using a hair straightener). My hair turned out perfect. Highly recommend if you want a simple no frills cut. Small mom and pop shop that pays attention to their customers needs and makes sure everyone is happy. Will come back again for my next hair cut. Thanks Jenny!

Meh, I’m a guy with hair shorter than shoulder length, and I wanted a haircut. Jenny was super friendly and checked with me often before she cut something — whether or not I thought it looked good or what direction to go next. Was pretty satisfied with my hair cut. Got it washed and dried — $ 19 bucks, but I got this card for 6th haircut is free. I like how this store’s run by Viet people. Yup.

I was looking for a nice hair salon close to my work that would not cost me an eye. I love this salon. The owners are super nice and friendly. They really want to make sure you get the hair cut you like. The hair massage was so good, I could have fallen asleep :) I will definitely return here and will recommend this place to my friends.
