I am a fan of Gott’s Roadside and was so excited to see they had a Palo Alto location. The facility is clean, the staff is nice, and the location is conveniently located at the Town and Country shopping center. My favorite dish is the ahi poke crispy tacos. They are so fresh, so crunchy, and perfectly crunchy! The Chinese chicken salad and burgers are also pretty delicious here!

How does Gott’s only have 2.5 stars on Unilocal?Kind of misleading, but we went on the recommendation of one of my co-workers who says Gott’s has really good hot dogs. And we were NOT disappointed! Gott’s is a diner-concept restaurant located in Palo Alto’s Town and Country plaza in Suite 65. They have burgers, salads, French fries, milk shakes, hot dogs, and sandwiches. I called the order in and they said it’ll be ready for pick-up in 15 minutes!(Quick for a lunch time call-in order?) We all got different things– hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, salad, and fries and all were happy with our choices! I got the California Chicken sandwich and it was really delicious!(I bet it would taste even better in the store, with a beer, NOT during work hours!) This would be such a great place for a group of friends to eat at. I definitely recommend coming for lunch!

Best tasting bacon cheeseburger I have had in a longtime. Thick, juicy, tasty, cooked just right. Absolutely perfect! Fries were thick cut, but plain. Next time I will try the garlic fries. The ketchup was also unique in that it tasted more like the tomatoes that it comes from and less like the syrup that you get from Heinz. My only complaint is that they are a tad expensive(17 bucks for burger, fries & coke). Oh well, when I have an appetite for a quality burger again I will be back.

Underwhelming and overpriced. I tried the mahi mahi tacos for lunch. The ingredients were fresh, but the tacos were skimpy and flavorless… Then again, they are known for their burgers, so I’ll have to give those a try and update my review accordingly. I did, however, really enjoy the garlic fries and fried brussel sprouts.

Big fan of Gott’s.. .for years.. .until the Alabama BBQ Chicken sandwich happened, in Palo Alto location.. . It’s about the PORTION, guys ! Come on! Your prices aren’t cheap, so could I please have a little more chopped BBQ chicken for my $ 13? Good flavors, and quality is fine, but not a good value for the price. Portion control is too strict. I was still hungry when I finished. :^(

Food: Tasty Environment: Clean and Casual. The dining environment is kid friendly. Price: I think the food is overpriced for what you get. For example, the Ahi Poke Crispy Tacos were $ 15 dollars and you get very little Ahi Poke. Summary: I may give this place another shot given that I did order the burger. The food is tasty and the environment is nice and clean. The only downside is that you get very little value for your money.

So I’ve tried them twice thus far. If you’re in need for a quick, decent burger that is a tad bit expensive; Gott’s will deliver. I really wanted a chili burger this second time around but they don’t have that. Chili dog, yes; chili burger no. They have a green chili burger which is what I agreed to & it was just fine. Outstanding, no. For the price point, I’d go around & across for my favorite mushroom burger. Gott’s does a decent burger but I have other favorites to spend my $$ on.

Best part of this place is that it’s casual, they have a variety of food(burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fish & chips, fish burgers, fish tacos, etc), and good beer/wine selection. I’ve had their California Chicken sandwich, but it’s pretty bland tasting and the toasted sourdough is super greasy so not a fan. I’ve also had their cheeseburger, but it’s a pretty thick 1⁄3 lb patty that it’s difficult to bite into, at least for me. I usually get the secret sauce on the side. Tastes okay. I think the best food there is their plain french fries and ketchup. They’re nice and crispy.

I’m quite surprised about the reviews here. When my co-workers suggested this place, I looked it up on Unilocal and was like, whatt??? This place only has 2 stars, are you sure this place is good? They said yes, so i said okay. Ordered a California burger, regular fries and a beer, $ 25.xx WOW, quite pricey… The burger itself was 13 bucks. But the quality of the burger is quite great. Cooked well with a slight pinkness, super juicy and great runny eggs. Fries were nice and crispy and the beer was great. The only thing i have to complain about this place is the price. It’s pretty expensive for just a burger. The california burger had bacon, eggs, patty cheese, and arugula. For a fancy burger, i guess it’s alright… Stuck between 3 and 4 stars. i’ll go ahead and round up on this one.

Often come here for lunch with my co-workers, but they are more of a fan than I am. I usually order the«A» BLT along with their garlic and/or sweet potato fries. Service is pretty good. I appreciate their patience with me on days when I can’t decide what to eat. Resto is roomy. Good for large groups.

Came here for lunch with my coworkers since they come here often, but I was not impressed… I ordered the caesar salad w/ahi poke and when it came out my jaws dropped because I couldn’t even see the salad. The whole thing was drenched in dressing and cheese. It’s all preference, but I like my salads lights and crunchy not mushy and liquid-y… Ahi poke was not fresh either. No flavor :(I guess shame on me for ordering a salad/tuna at a place that specializes in burgers…

The food here is really good. The burgers are big, juicy, and well seasoned. The staff here is also nice and friendly. I would for sure come here again. However, I feel like there is no reason to leave a tip here. I left a tip today cause it was my first time here and I wasn’t sure what kind of service they provided, but they don’t bring the food to you or clear your table. In terms of the level of service provided here it is exactly like in-n-out and you don’t leave tip there. I am not against leaving a tip here, I just don’t think they really do anything extra here that really warrants a tip.

2 and a half stars on Unilocal?!That inexplicably low rating kept me from trying this place for the longest time, and that’s such a shame. It’s not the best diner I’ve been to, and it’s certainly a bit pricey, but it does reside in the overpriced bubble of Palo Alto where you mainly find only mediocre quality with michelin star prices anyway. Gott’s serves excellent milkshakes and one of the top fried chicken sandwiches that I’ve tried, and their sweet potato and garlic fries are solid side dish options. If you’re in the area and you’re craving some good quality diner-style food, you’d be hard to pressed to find anything much better!

Four stars for food quality but –1 star for keeping all of the doors open on a cold night(it was about 50* outside and dropping, and not much warmer inside). It also would have helped to have more staff bussing tables on a busy Friday night(or any staff as I didn’t see any doing this). The food is well made, good quality, and hearty. We ordered two burgers and sides of onion rings and the fried Brussels sprout special(so good!).

Tons of people at this place, so I had to try it for myself. It’s self-service: order at the counter and pick up at the end. Food: — Kale salad w/chicken: seemed pretty fresh, but wasn’t memorable either way. I’d recommend getting a burger here. — Fries weren’t anything special, but OK Overall, just seems like a pretty expensive burger place. However, like that there’s patio seating and lots of people.

I don’t know why I’ve never been here… I’m glad my friend recommended this place for our lunch! Parking: good luck, this plaza is always packed! It usually takes me a few circles to catch someone leaving. If you pass your chance, chances are, the car behind you just claimed that potential parking spot. Refreshment: Coffee Milkshake– too thick, but in this heat, it remained cold and refreshing. Meal: Western Bacon Bleu Ring– there’s so much pickles in here, I had to take more than half out to taste the flavor that was pickled cucumber. However, once I removed the pickles, it was so salty from the Bleu Cheese that I had to drown my burger in ketchup. I’m not usually a ketchup user. Minus the tastebud hiccups, the burger wasn’t bad at all. Sides: Zucchini Fries– this is so good! It’s crisp on the outside but still juicy zucchini on the inside. It’s not on the menu, but it’s advertised on the back of the cashier’s register. Seating: order first then grab a seat! There’s AC in the building or a good PA breeze at the picnic style benches right out the entrance with a canopy for shade cover available. WiFi: NONE

Gott’s has fancy burgers. How fancy are they? An In-n-Out plus bacon and blue cheese. Even though the meat patty is neither pink nor juicy, neither Angus nor Kobe, that small dose of Americana in the form of blue cheese and bacon ends is exactly what I look for in my burger! Gott’s has fancy poki tacos. How fancy are they? Small overfried taco shells filled with mayo and lettuce, finished with a smear of decorative tuna toppings. Almost very vegetarian-friendly if you scrape off the small bits of tuna. Gott’s has fancy milkshakes. How fancy are they? Chilled hot chocolate in a plastic cup. Watery exactly the way I like it. Gott’s has fancy onion rings. How fancy are they? They are cold, supposedly coming out of a deep fryer moments ago. Such a brilliant idea to educate people on the importance of eating your vegetables raw. Slogan: baby carrots taste BETTER than fried onion rings. Gott’s is so fancy, you already know, from Napa to Palo Alto, just like the song that Australian immigrant Iggy Azalea stormed the charts with in 2014. Did you taste the gold at Gott’s? It’s so fancy. A $ 40-burger-lunch will make you feel the future is as bright as Iggy’s music career.

3.5÷5 Pretty good burger but on the expensive side. Expect most to be ~$ 10 or more without sides. Saw many Unilocal complaints about slow service but haven’t experienced that yet. Been coming here a few times for lunch with 2 or 3 others and food came out within 7 – 10 mins. Place was clean and modern for a burger joint. Thought the huge blown out menu poster on the wall was clever and convenient. Order and they’d give you a buzzer; mostly self serve. The staff was pleasant. I like substituting the buns for lettuce wrap. Crunchy and fresh. The fried zucchini was addicting. The ahi burger($ 16) was really good with the lettuce wrap, the tuna was seared but still pretty much rare inside. Delicous! They also have good selection of beer and wine. Haven’t gotten around it yet since the time I’ve been there was lunch at work.

I’ve been here a few times getting 2 different burgers, both of which were nothing special. The«A» BLT is reaaaallly good. One of my favorite things here as well as the Garlic fries. However, do I think these foods are worth the price? Flat out, NO! I paid 16 for sandwich and fries(none of the meals come with a side or a drink, you GOTTS to pay for it separately.) The service here is nice BUTEXTREMELYSLOW! I don’t know if it’s me as a chef, but I so always want to go behind the counter and make my food myself. It takes them 5 people in the kitchen during a non-peak hour to make a sandwich. I ordered online knowing their slow service. When I got there they said the system Didn’t take my card, so I understand they didn’t start my order but there is 8 people already eating and 1 other person waiting for food so I can’t figure out why I’ve waited 25 minutes for a sandwhich! When o finally went up to the counter the sandwich was sitting on the counter but they didn’t call my name. My fries hadn’t been started so I had to wait longer for that. I want to be able to come more often, but not when I’m hungry, that’s for sure.

Far from being roadside, «Gott’s» is actually in the yuppie Town & Country Village plaza of affluent Palo Alto; however, true enough, the taste is roadside style. You can go with any number of burgers, dogs, chicken sandwiches, but I wolfed down on the Wisconsin Sourdough Burger(mushrooms, bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, lean bacon so lean and pressed it was an art). Burgers can get messy, but this was a neat, carefully composed, and tidy creation. Also, superior fries, sweet potato fries, a Madagascar Vanilla Shake, and chicken avocado this and ahi poke that. When I’m long gone and buried, I’ll still be able to remember the taste six feet under. I mean, it can’t be that good, can it? 2.5 star current average on Unilocal; that’s bat-crazy, that’s way below where it should be at; I’m going to take my bat and knock over some heads of pretentious stuck-up Palo Alto Unilocalers. Cuz of them, I had my doubts. Let me pontificate. See, when they have that many people working; and when I say that many, I mean a dozen plus, it’s easy to doubt a burger joint’s teamwork chemistry because businesses hire cheap — but I retract that doubt — now I see, the prep teamwork here to get everything made for a party of hungry people… I am rambling now… I’m sleepy from all that good food. Let’s just say that these are burgers with a difference and a cut above all the rest. #unexpected-delights
