As many of you may know, L&L is a popular hawaii BBQ food chain. They have locations in hawaii and on the main land. I’ve been to my fair share of L&L, but this one is very unique. First off, it is open 24⁄7. This is supper rare especially for being in Palo Alto where the only other 24⁄7 place is Happy Donuts, which happens to be right next door. They not only sell the expected menu items like loco moco, chicken katsu, etc but they also sell DONUTS, breakfast meals(wraps, sandwiches, bagels… typical breakfast things), and they also sell sandwiches… kind of like the ones your mom would make when she packed you lunch. I will say that eating here isn’t anything special. The place is run down. The signs are all pretty much faded. With that said, it is clean inside. If you are hungry just take the food to go and eat it in the comfort of your own home. When I came here they got my order wrong. I went up to the guy and told him what happened and instead of arguing with me or anything he just said, keep the food and we will bring you the meat you wanted as fast as we can. So 10 mins later I ended up getting 2x the meat I was expecting, which was a great. The food took a while to come out and there wasn’t many people inside, but I wasn’t in a hurry. The food tasted as I expected and it was the same as any other L&L. The portions are huge so I ended up having lots of leftovers for the rest of the week. Take away note: if its 3am and you are hungry, come here and get a good meal for a great price.

Great selection of Hawaiian BBQ food in a casual setting. BBQ chicken was insanely tender and juicy and well marinated, served with rice and mac and cheese on a bed of sliced lettuce. The rice and mac were under-average: the rice was clumpy, and the mac and cheese was clammy. The protein made up for it though, and made the whole dish complete. Will come here again to try the other dishes!

We arrived and ordered at about 12:30 and got our food at around 1. We only had three plates. There was a big order ahead of use so I understand that it may take longer, but the people who ordered after us got their food first. We had 2 separate orders because after the first one(2 plates), we decided to order something else. Our first order was to go and the second was for here. The second order came before the first, so my one member of the party started eating that. I asked about the first order and the lady was VERY rude and cut me off mid sentence. When our second order did come out(about 10 minutes later) I decided to eat it there because it took such a long time and I was starving. While eating, a worker kept staring and glaring at us. At one point he pointed to us and talked to another worker. If you have a problem that I was eating my to go order here then please tell me and I’d be happy to pay the extra 10 cents. However, I don’t think that’s fair at all considering how long it took to order. The food was pretty good, but overcooked. Warning, the portions are HUGE. 3 people could share one combo plate. The food also came out hot on PLASTIC plates and bowls. By now, the health issues that can be cause by melted plastic are well known. The place was also dirty. For these reasons I recommend NOT coming here. I will not be coming back. The whole thing was offensive to me.

Worst L&L I have ever been to. The portions are hella small and the meat overcooked. I tried it for a 2nd time just to see if it was better and same result. The regular plate has the same amount as other L&Ls mini plates.

This place is coo. Cheap and fast. My only complaint is that it is a bit dirty but other than that, its coo. Big portions, cheap and food is okay.

6+ people visibly working. no eye contact or politeness in any way. they did not know one donut from another and took 2 minutes to figure it out asking each other. Spam musubi were gross quality. servings small. had to double check order and ask them to put sauce that goes with the meals we got. never again. Smoke shop next door has AMAZINGSERVICE.

I don’t live in the city of Palo Alto, so let me tell you how exciiited I was to hear this location was 24 hours. If this LnL was closer to where I lived, this spot would definitely be my favorite place to go to passed midnight. I would say the food is the«usual» LnL quality. The Katsu sauce is always good. But the best part? They don’t charge $.50 for sauce. Oh and another +++ of this spot, it has a donut section where they sell«fresh» donuts 24 hours! This spot is definitely a good place to get drunchies!

At the time of me writing this review this establishment has 3 ?! Wtf people??? taste the perfect sauce and the tenderness of the chicken(admittedly tender is not a flavor.) get the BBQ mix plate for real! Macaroni is notoriously delicious(after S&P), cabbage is probably meant as a garnish but sadly may be the only vegetable I ate today besides the jalepeños and cilantro in my Banh Mi earlier. I’m tired and hungry from doing Lyft in the city and soo stoked this place is 24 hours. God bless the L & L workers, I wish them great success in the new year!

I have no shame eating what I want when it’s 3AM. And frankly, 24 hour McDonald’s, Jack in the Box, and Happy Donuts gets old after a while. You need more options, and I think L&L fits such a bill. You’re paying a little more than you would at these other places, but the variety is much more and you get a lot. Hawaiian BBQ in general, you’re still getting that filling from rice, mac salad, and whatever meats you got. I prefer the low carb plates for #gainz, you get a lot of meat with those combos. I don’t feel as guilty chowing down here; my arteries feel slightly better. Plus with free delivery, I’m totally taking it.

One of the best Hawaiian chicken outside Hawaii! An unassuming place that is run by mum and pap. Large amount of chicken, comes with rice and macaroni. By hey also have chicken Katsu, totaling chicken and beef short ribs. Has the casual Hawaiian feel inside too!

I went to this establishment to get dinner after a long days work, waited 45 minutes for some takeout food and this is what I get! When I called to have them refund my money I was told I had to bring the food back to the restaurant before I get a refund. First thing I am doing is canceling the credit transaction as I have photo proof then… I am NEVER eating there again and I would encourage all of you looking for Hawaiian style food to stay away from this establishment. Makes me, as a Hawaiian, sick to my stomach to be treated this way. This place should get negative stars! But Unilocal makes you put at least a star even for really horrible food and service!

This L&L is different as it has a donut & deli inside, plus it’s open 24 hours which is a plus. They also take credit card, and are not cash only like all the others I have been to! Parking lot is small, but easy to get in and out of. Ordered a mini chicken katsu and hawaiian bbq beef to go. Lots of food, everything was unhealthy and delicious. Prices have gone up some though, as two mini meals were almost $ 20.

I’m going to save you even though no one saved me. Here goes: They DONOT have Katsu curry here. I was very sad, I mean that is what I go to L&L for. A scoop of mac, a scoop of rice and a side of curry poured on top. Don’t judge me it’s freaking amazing. There are a lot of menu changes here that I have never seen at another L&L but enough of the basics that you know you are at an L&L. Does that make sense? My companions all really enjoyed their plates. So the food is good just be prepared for the menu to be different. Oh! It also took FOREVER but the tastiness justified the time. Breakdown: No curry, long wait, food was still tasty

So happy that this place is open 24⁄7. They have donuts, sandwiches too. Interesting! Last time I came here I got the spam musubi for 2 dollar each, unfortunately they give wayy too much rice and small thin piece of spam. They need to step up their spam game!

Stumbled on this with the help of Unilocal, during a late night food run. We wanted Chinese, but all the nearby places were closed by 1030 on a Sunday night. These guys are open 24 hours. It’s small, and an odd mix of a donut shop and takeout-centered restaurant. The donuts looked pretty good, but we needed dinner. Sweetie got the special, broccoli with short ribs. I tasted it, and the ribs were tough but tasty, mainly teriyaki. I had the kalua and lau lau. The kalua was awesome– shredded savory pork mixed with shredded cabbage. I wanted more. The lau lau was okay. A hunk of flavorless pork in what I thought was cabbage inside of greens; it’s actually a taro leaf. They came with good rice that sopped up the flavors nicely, and that unique Hawaiian style macaroni salad. All in all a good meal, just not great. Prices and service were good. I would definitely go back and try some other things on the menu.

Bought a Hawaiian Sun Green Tea(100 calories) — very refreshing for only $ 1.39 Pineapple fruit cup $ 3.50 including very brown bruised pieces and what was pretty bad was — the core. You can’t eat the pineapple core but chunks of it was carelessly thrown in the container. Your tongue and mouth can go numb and get tingly if you attempt to chew pineapple core. This is irresponsible food prep. The healthy garlic fish dish(tilapia) was very disrespectful to the animal — it was coated in a lot of salt and I had to throw it away. This is my 1 protein day a week and I am very disappointed. The small scoop of Japanese brown rice was the only redeeming element as it was cooked perfectly and in no way«low quality» as the other reviewer said. 80% Of the container was iceberg lettuce which also included the heart which is unappetizing. Either shred the core or compost it — don’t throw it in the container. Please avoid this place. It’s dangerous for a business to have a prep cook who just«doesn’t care» when competitors are steps away: Thai Rice, Hong Kong Restaurant, Happy Donuts, Driftwood Deli, Grullense Taqueria and Valencia Asian Market($ 1 tacos and fresh salads) and indie owned.

My fiancé and I were starving by the time we got out of Costco… We didn’t want to go home and cook so we were looking for a quick place to eat… And luckily we found L&L…: when we got where there was free parking everywhere! And as we got in we were torn on which dish to order! There was a lot of food choices to pick! I chose the loco moco— its a very delicious meal that includes a shit ton of rice, hamburger meat, 2 eggs drenched with gravy!!! And they include macaroni in the side… My fiancé got the chicken bbq meal and with that we got the spam misubi and chicken katsu misubi !!! When we ordered it didn’t seem like much, but when we got our food… It turned it way more food that’ve could eat! My fiancé barely touched his chicken bbq because he had to finish my loco moco! It was so much food it was ridiculous!!! And we paid 20 bucks for what we ordered and drinks! The rice is soft and fluffy, the chicken BBQ was very tasty and the macaroni was a delight! For a quick dinner meal this place hit the spot!!!
