okay place. slightly more expensive than yogurtland.

If you like having a lot of different toppings on your frozen yogurt, this is the place you should go to. You can add real pieces of cakes, fruits, or any kind of chocolate chips, nuts, and so on… They have quite a good choice of yogurt flavour, but are often running out of some of them. And the overall is quite cheap, depending on how much weight you put in your frozen yogurt.

Stopped here for dessert after dinner at three seasons restaurant. I mixed in the traditional plain yogurt, french vanilla and the cookies and crème yogurts. I topped it off with the yellow cake, strawberries, mango, pineapple and kiwi. The fruits were fresh and sweet and I absolutely loved the yellow cake.

Pricey! I was pretty full from lunch, so I filled their smallest container about 1⁄3 full of yogurt, and I skipped the toppings, but it was still $ 2.50. Not surprising I guess, since it’s a whopping 47 cents per ounce. I guess you’re paying for location. Flavors I tried: – Apple pie. Just Ok. A little too sweet and nutmeggy for me. – Yellow cake. Pretty true to its description, but also overly sweet. – Nonfat plain. Mildy tart but with an artificial mouthfeel. I was disappointed that L’amour had no fruit or berry-flavored froyo or any really tart flavors that day. The best thing about the place is location. I ate my yogurt while reading the paper at a street-front window table, on a nice day, with good people watching. I was gettin’ my money’s worth.

I’ve only heard bad things, but I had some time to kill on University Ave and was craving frozen yogurt, so here goes nothing. I’m not sure how L’Amour passes health code. Everything in the back half of the joint was pretty grungy, and the yogurt machines looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The guy ringing me up was on the phone, talking to someone about how the bathroom was broken. Uhh? Good selection of yogurt flavors, with both tart and regular, and a wide array of toppings. They’ve even got bits of cake and two kinds of cookie dough, and all of the candy is in bins like being at a movie theater. The yogurt was pretty melty, though, and while it tasted pretty good, I felt awful about 20 minutes after I finished. Yuck. For $ 0.40+ per ounce and a mediocre product, I’d definitely recommend going somewhere else.

Delicious texture and flavors! I had chocolate and irish mint and put on some brownie bits and a cherry and made myself a sundae. I tried the pumpkin spice flavor and liked it a lot too, but it might have been a bit much to eat a whole cup — it was rich and tasted just like pumpkin pie. The texture was great — very creamy and it didn’t melt too quickly. The cons: expensive! Compared to other places, these guys are considerably higher. We paid .47/oz. Another con is they won’t just give you a sample cup to fill. No, they have to put on their apron and hat and come do it for you. Seriously. Both employees put on aprons and hats prior to coming out from behind the counter. I thought that was just weird.

I’ve tried this frozen yogurt joint out 2 times now, mainly not for me but this is probably one of the worst places by far! The choice of yogurts that they have is mostly on the creamy frozen yogurt quality. The thing is like Jen H. mentioned, it is not frozen. As you pop that yogurt onto your yogurt cup, it melts literally right away. The first time I came here, this place did not have AC. I am not sure if they have improved their facilities but no AC in hot weather, is a big nono. The place was humid as hell and I mean with the liquidy frozen yogurt… .Oh Joy… That just works out so well. PLUS. they are freaken expensive $ 0.47/ounce… you should umm improve on the quality of your frozen yogurt then please. I rather go to pinkberry anytime to pay for that price instead.

Eh, not that great… Another place that has very liquidly, icy frozen yogurt. You have to consume within 5 minutes or else it will melt into liquid! I ABSOLUTELY dislike frozen yogurt that is NOT frozen! Definitely will not be back! What was annoying was when I wanted to sample the yogurt flavors, the cashier has to come out behind the counter and serve me the sample… There was only one person working, so obviously if he is helping patrons with samples, who is running the cash register??!

I’ve been off frozen yogurt for awhile, but when our visiting family from requested dessert, we found this place on Unilocal. I have to say I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Upon walking in, it looks like most fro-yo shops, but the taste was far superior to the fro-yo I’ve had since we moved. Super creamy, great flavor, and a good variety of flavors. A lot of fro-yo shops have several flavors, but rarely do i find all of them pleasing. At this place, i actually did, and had a hard time deciding what to get. There was a good selection of toppings, and even a few that I haven’t seen very often. Everyone loved their yogurt creations, it was hit for all:) I’m still not as into frozen yogurt as i once was, but I will definitely return here if i have a craving,(which does happen from time to time) or if anyone wants dessert when we’re in the neighborhood.

I prefer dining hall froyo. The only possibly redeemable flavors are strawberry, natural/whatever normal is, and eurotart. Peanut butter was interesting but I’d rather just eat PB. But I can get half of these from the dining hall anyway, and it tastes better there. Waay too melty. maybe I shouldn’t have tried so many different ones. They were all way too sweet. And too rich in a bad way. I felt sick and disgusted afterwards. And this was without any toppings, since I expected this to happen when the first bit of froyo pooped into my cup. At least they have lots of toppings/was fairly cheap. I like the DIY-ness. However, I will stick to Fraiche, or even Red Mango(which is way below Fraiche in my book). If you think you’re going to be even remotely healthy by going here, think again. I’d much rather go to a gelato place if I wanted something richer. Also their container only comes in one size, fatass size. It is freaking HUGE. What if I don’t want a week’s worth of froyo in one sitting? I guess this is why my stuff was so melty. Well it won’t make me get more, just make me pissed off. This is not froyo. This is melty ice cream in a cup disguised as froyo :(

This is my favorite Fro-Yo place since it’s self serve and they have a humungous variety of toppings ranging from fresh fruit to cake pieces to candy you’ve never even seen. I love the large selection of fro-yo flavors as well. This place stays open pretty late and you’ll see me strolling in here after dinner and a walk downtown. I got my boyfriend hooked on this place when he finally gave into my nagging that he needed to try it(he swore he hated frozen yogurt all his life). Bonus: They have frequent buyer cards and the 10th fro-yo is on the house! I don’t really want to know how many of these cards I’ve had completely stamped…

$ 0.47 per ounce is a bit on the pricey side, especially since most places don’t break $ 0.40. They do have plenty of options though, both fruit and candy, and they have some good flavors. I especially enjoyed the non-fat(yeah right) pistachio. As a side note, their rainbow sprinkles may be colorful, but are definitely not sprinkles. They are some other kind of topping candy, but not sprinkles.

This place was only OK… I felt like all of their yogurt flavors were too tart — even the ones that weren’t labeled as tart. However, they have a great selection of toppings! I tend to favor yogurt places that have only a few select flavors that they highly invest in, rather than places like L’Amour that have a ton of flavors, most of which are mediocre and/or way too tart. To each their own.

OOOOH peace out Fraiche, L’Amour is my new fro yo spot. The cheesecake frozen yogurt is so bomb as are their other flavors, and I love that they change ‘em up each day. They also have a zillion toppings which is awesome, everything from fresh fruit, to cereal, to cookie dough. YUM! Only downfall is when they run out my fav flavors or theres children running amok all in front of the ice cream(c’mon parents keep em under control!) Dont get me wrong; fraiche, I still love you, but your managers are anal and sometimes your portions suck. Sorry, I don’t want to pay $ 5 for some shitty little dab or yogurt with a slice of banana on it. Stop being so stingy Fraiche managers! anyways, I really dig the fact that I can choose how much yogurt I want and not have to pay out the ass for half a strawberry.

We were on our way to Red Mango when we saw this place and decided to give it a try. They have some pretty interesting flavors kinda like Yogurtland. Watching the machines is a worker who also hands out free sample cups. Ummm… do you not trust people? She even fills up the samples for you. — 1 star The quality of the fro yo is pretty good. I had multiple flavors and added some strawberries and mochi. The price is EXPENSIVE compared to Yogurtland. For 2 cups, it was around 9 dollars! This would be only 6 bucks at other places. I don’t know if I will come back here. I like the variety of flavors but the service is lacking and the prices are high.

We were walking to Michael’s Gelato when we ran into this place and got dessert here instead. It’s a DIY yogurt shop with ten flavors and most of their yogurts are fat free or low fat. But still, the flavors are sweet and taste like a lot of calories, which is good. The vanilla is low fat and tastes like McD’s soft serve. The NY cheesecake was pretty good and they have little cubes of cheesecake as toppings too! The original tart yogurt was ok. The toppings is like a candy shop. Most of the stuff is sweet and has a lot of calories — cookie dough, chocolates, snowcaps, etc. This place is more like a ice cream shop than a yogurt shop. You get a frequent buyer card if you spend at least $ 4.50, which is a lot! It’s 47 cents an ounce, which is much more expensive than Tartini or Yogurtland. Would come back, but not anytime soon. I’ll stick with Tartini for my yogurt fixes.

I saw the signs a few weeks ago and thought to myself, «Really Palo Alto, more frozen yogurt?» So yesterday as I was wondering down University Ave. I noticed it was open and had to give it a shot. I was immediately excited about the self serve aspect. I had been to a similar place in Santa Cruz and loved it. Pros: So many choices! Original non-fat plain vs Eurotart? Peanut butter or chocolate? Pomegranate or mango?! There were even a couple unusual ones like irish mint I didn’t try, wasn’t feeling quite that adventurous… I divided my cup into thirds and tried the Euro tart, the chocolate and the peanut butter. I topped the tart with blueberries, the chocolate with the mini peanut butter cups, and the peanut butter with cookie dough. But they seriously have so many toppings. Lots of cereal, lots of candy choices and at least 5 fruit choices. The yogurt is delicious! I really liked everything I got although I didn’t think the chocolate was unique from other places(don’t misunderstand, still excellent, just not unique). The Eurotart was perfection and the peanut butter is like heaven. Cons: The place is Santa Cruz is .37 cents per ounce. This place is .47 cents an ounce. Knowing that I did feel like I was getting ripped off a little bit. But my fro-yo came out to about 4.50 which is what you pay for it everywhere else in Palo Alto so maybe I shouldn’t whine about it. Also, the mini peanut butter cups do not contain peanut butter. As you may have noticed I love peanut butter, so this was a little disappointing. What they really need are some chopped up reeses peanut butter cups. Overall I thought it was really good and love the do-it-yourself style. I picked up a frequent shopper card and you can bet I’ll be back!

A self serve yogurt place is a bit dangerous — you never really know how much you are putting into your cup. Then again, that’s how they make their money, I guess. For 49 cents and ounce, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but you get exactly what you want. I like the concept. The frozen yogurt flavours are good and true to their word. I have to say that the yogurt at Fraiche Yogurt is still better, but this isn’t bad. The New York Cheesecake flavour tasted like Cheesecake… good start. They also have the normal things like vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, so everyone is happy. What made the happiest was that they have fresh fruit as things that you can add to your yogurt. It’s not just candy, chocolates and nuts(not that those are bad). They also have mochi, although they were out, by the time I got there at 4:30.

I stopped by this spot after dinner, and was warmly greeted by the employees. They had 10 flavors ready to go. I kinda got excited and filled my cup with at least 4 of em. The toppings bar… I’ve uploaded pics, cus you gotta see it to believe it! They had all of my favorite cereals like captain crunch(with berries!), cocoa pebbles, and froot loops. They also had fresh fruit and chocolate chips, and dozens of other toppings. The employees there were very nice. There was a lot of seating, I sat comfortably in one of the leather chairs they got near the front door. The yogurt hit the spot on a warm night. The flavors I chose were pretty good, especially the Mango Tart. They had enough toppings to choose from to feed a small village. I’ll definitely be back to try out the other flavors and get my Cocoa Pebbles fix.

With Red Mango, Michael’s Gelato and Fraiche, which is located not far from the strip, another fro-yo place in Palo Alto has just opened. The competition is heating up. And the nicer weather is coming as well. I absolutely support smaller businesses, but I got to give L’Amour huge credit for opening another frozen-yogurt business in the already congested Palo Alto’s University Ave. Unlike the other competitors, L’Amour is a larger venue with plenty of seatings with plenty of space to linger and handle your business on the Wi-Fi access. There are also additional benches for some who wants to enjoy the Palo Alto’s nice weather, which will happen within a few weeks. The shop also sells trendy treats like cupcakes, fresh pastries, smoothies, crepes, coffee and espresso drinks. Unlike the other neighboring competitors in Palo Alto, the shop is a self-serve with 10 different flavors at $.47 an ounce. And the current and temporary flavors are: -(Organic) Plain Tart –Pomegranate –Strawberry –Mango Tart –Vanilla –Strawberry –Irish Mint –New York Cheesecake –Milk-Chocolate –White Chocolate With the debut, the line was obviously long. Thus, I didn’t get any opportunity to sample the other available flavors. So I got a free small cup(5-oz) of Irish Mint. The topping bar, in which I only have to pay extra, consists of fresh fruits and other dried toppings, in which I chose mochi-balls and cheesecakes bits. The flavored fro-yo tasted creamy, but lack the taste of the mint. So if you eat anything with onions or garlic, the lingeing odor will still be there on your breath(You can kiss me after my gargle). Since it was the birth of the grand-opening and once they settled down, I might come back and try the other flavors. If you couldn’t wait the long lines or can’t afford Red Mango, you can come here as another alternative.
