We had super burrito, fish and steak tacos and kids burrito. Very tasty. No credit cards, so bring cash.

How does Sancho’s Taqueria here get a lower rating than Sancho’s Taqueria over there? Anyway, I am on a tacos kick after getting some super tacos(as in, the tacos tasted super) in Santa Cruz. This time, these were great, but I actually don’t really remember them too much. The chips were also not on point — thin and crispy like the kind you find in a sealed plastic bag in aisle 10, not the«authentic»(whatever that may actually mean) thicker, Mexican restaurant-style kind, if you know what i mean. Still, the service is great and the food is above average, maybe I SHOULD go to the Sancho’s Taqueria with the higher rating over there!

Great food and service. Did a team lunch and they made an error on the order, called and spoke to the manager and she was great. She advise for me to come back and bring the receipt so that they can remake the order. Great experience and awesome food.

One star due to the unprofessional manner the cashier lady was speaking in spanish. Like shes on the streets using cuss words & being unnecessarily rowdy. Another for a stupid art piece that compares americans and Mexicans but oudown as lazy and liking to smoke pot… why put your own race down? That’s ridiculous. tbh this place sucks ass. they want to rep mexico, raza, & culture soooo so bad. i tried to place an order in spanish & the cashier who had just been talking in spanish flipped & started taking my order in english. idk like are you ashamed to be heard speaking spanish? fuck this joint, its a joke. culture vultures. & to becky… no matter how hard you try, se te ve el nopalote en la frente mija

No to the taco salad — all i got was a taco shell, lettuce, 1TBS of sour cream and 1Tsp of avacodo… nothing else. It was dry and tasteless not to mention overpriced for what is served. Not going back for sure.

To be honest, I usually order the fish tacos here and they are AMAZING! What I don’t understand is when you have multiple customers complaining of the service from both the manager and the lady at the cash register and nothing is done to rectify the problem, it makes you think customer service is not a priority at this establishment. I too have witnessed and experienced the unfriendly attitude and subpar customer service from the manager and the cashier. I rather drive a little further and enjoy my meal at an establishment that I know has good food AND good service!

The manager of Sancho’s offered embarrassing customer service this afternoon: In short, there was a change/money issue after I paid — simple error with a simple fix. Once it was addressed, I was encouraged to «get out of the way» and that this«wasn’t his problem»…I’m confused, as the manager of the business isn’t this something you want to remedy immediately? He made a scene in front of other customers and, maybe he was having a bad day(sorry if that’s the case), but offered no resolution or attempt to make it right. Luckily there was another customer who witnessed the change/money error and said something; however, even after she gave her account of what happened, he said, «Again, this isn’t my problem. What do you want me to do about it?» Uhmmm, fix it? Eventually he threw my money back at me and said«this is coming out of his pocket» and pointed at the friendly worker who accidentally made an honest mistake. Overall: the food was average and the service was sub-par. The attitude of the manager was laughable and I’m surprised he is entrusted to care for the business while the owner is away. He is not someone I would want representing my business.

Don’t know what the hype is all about. I’ve been 3 times and keep wanting to love it, as I’ve heard a local guy owns it. It’s just not authentic to me. I wish the meat was more fresh. Seems like it’s microwaved to re-heat. With so many amazing, authentic options just up the road in Redwood City, I have to pass.

This is my friend’s go-to place for fish tacos so he was excited to bring me here. It’s definitely not a fancy place and even a little chaotic in the front where you order, but if you walk down the hall, they have a room in the back with more seats and quite a bit less chaotic! My friend loves the grilled fish tacos, but I generally like the fried fish tacos better, so I ordered one of both. The fried fish taco was decent, but I actually loved the grilled fish. Big chunks of white fish, nicely seasoned with a good amount of veggies and sauce. A little messy to eat, but YUM! Two tacos and the chips that came with my tacos were enough to fill me up(though once I was an absolute glutton and polished off 3 in one sitting). Go for the grilled!

The food was tasty, service leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered take out — 2 shrimp tacos for my boyfriend, one grilled fish and one fried fish taco for me. My hairdresser told me the fried fish tacos were to die for so I was really excited to try one. When they were packing up my to go order I noticed there was a problem — a woman was yelling at a guy in front of the grill, apparently he gave me 5 tacos instead of 4. I saw him remove a fried fish taco and throw it away. I should have checked my order then and there, but was in a hurry to get home. When I got home, I had two grilled fish tacos which is NOT what I ordered.

The best affordable authentic Mexican restaurant in Palo Alto. I am Mexican, and there is one thing that this location is known for, and that is the FISHTACOS, which are to die for. My usual here is 2 breaded fish tacos with mole sauce on the side. I have tried the majority of the delicious menu items, and everything tastes delicious. One thing is they only accept cash and checks. There is a visa inside that charges you about 2 dollars for using, and here is a tip. I would go across the street to bank of america, and use the ATM there, for no withdrawl fee. This location is located in the midtown strip mall that has a CVS, subway and Starbucks. There is plenty of parking in the back.

There’s a sign at the register that reads, «Negativity not allowed,» which is ridiculously ironic given the fact that the chick up front always has her grumpy pants on. I made a simple change to my order(adding salsa and guac on the side of my otherwise plain quesadilla) and, my goodness, it was like I pushed her bicycle down or something. She was visibly annoyed and complained to another employee while unsuccessfully trying to figure out how much more I owed her. Really? On a scale of «nasty» to «hella good,» this place lands at «meh.» It’s greasy, and not the good kind. Cali burritos are subpar and stuffed with more French fries than a Cali burrito should have. If it weren’t for the bottle of orange sauce I have from a real taqueria, I’d put down my burrito after the first bite. I grew up in east San Jose where there are good taquerias all over, and if I brought any of my eastside homies here, they’d laugh and then probably slap me.

Fish Tacos are always amazing here! They also have a smaller branch in downtown Palo Alto.

These burritos are loaded! $ 8.85 for a super burrito is a little pricey, but it includes chips and salsa. There are a number of meat options: carnitas, carne asada, pollo asado/pollo, ground beef, chile verde, al pastor and chorizo. My super burrito was indeed super, packed with a good amount of meat and other ingredients. My one complaint is that only half of the burrito had guac and I started with the half that didn’t, so I wasn’t sure if they had forgotten it until halfway through. Way to be a tease, Sancho’s. The salsa bar has four salsa options ranging from mild to extra hot. The pico de gallo was quite flavorful and fresh! This place only accepts cash and checks. There is an ATM on site. Overall, they get a solid 3.5 stars, bumped slightly up for their loaded burritos and decent salsa bar. I wouldn’t mind returning, even though it entails the hassle of bringing cash.

Service can be better, the girl in the counter has that angry face and was so annoyed when I asked questions. Tacos is $ 1.85 and very small, meat was just ok. What i LOVE is their extra hot sauce in the salsa bar, the food doesn’t impress me so far though. There are very limited seating inside, and there are more outside.

If badly cooked, flavorless, non-authentic«Mexican» food is your thing, then you’ll love Sancho’s. We’ve given this place the benefit of the doubt three times following our initial bad experience. I just isn’t worth the money. The outdoor seating(in front and back) is nice, but I would rather spend my money at the Subway next door and sit outside at the same tables. I really like Mexican food. However, I don’t know that this is truly«Mexican» food in anything except name. It really feels like a cheap imitation and I was thoroughly disappointed — especially after having read so many good reviews.

Came here for tacos just before they closed. The employees were really friendly and helpful. The place only takes cash and they provide an ATM if you’re short a few(unbranded and probably has fees so try to come prepared). There’s not too much seating inside but several tables outside of the weather is nice. As for the tacos, I tried a fish, shrimp and specialty Sancho’s Taco with pork. The shrimp taco had sizeable shrimp but I wasn’t super keen on the bell peppers it was paired with, but maybe I just needed some lime. The absolute highlight of the trip were the fish tacos. Absolutely incredible from start to finish. A must try from Sancho’s Taqueria. The fish was fried, but very lightly(enough for a crisp on the outside) and very sizeable. The additions inside complemented the fish very well for a wonderful fish taco experience. If there’s anything else on the menu that compares I’ll have to come back for more.

I came to Sancho’s about 15 minutes before it closed in hopes of getting my fried fish taco on. I am so glad that we snuck in right before Sancho’s closed, so I was able to get two fish tacos. For me, two is enough, but I think for some people, they need three! FOOD: I got a fish taco and a shrimp taco to try to build some variety on my order. I wish I just had gotten two fried fish tacos because that was the taco that was worth it. The fish is fried to a good level, not TOO much, but just to the right amount. Wrapped in a flour tortilla, and perfectly seasoned, the texture of the fish, tortilla, and vegetables, it is amazing! Also, get a side order of chips with their salsa. Even the chips alone, no salsa, nada, is still good. Not heavily salted, and just to the right crispness. Overall, the portion of the taco is generous. Not your typical small bite taco, but this taco will take several messy bites to eat! SERVICE: I gotta hand it out to the cooks back there making the food. I felt bad coming in so close, but this place is very popular and the line was out the door. They still fulfilled everybody’s orders and still maintained a good quality. They definitely have it right here. I will say though getting a flour tortilla was surprising because a traditional taco should have a corn tortilla. I wonder if next time I can get a corn tortilla instead, but with the portion sizing, I believe a corn tortilla will be more challenging! If I ever come back down to Palo Alto, I will come back to Sancho’s!
