I’ve been going to this location for over 15 years and I’m never disappointed. Their beef sandwich and giardinera is awesome as are the perfect hot dogs. Some of the best fries around also. Fast friendly service.

Got the Italian beef, fries and drink combo. It was decent, but it wasn’t anything that was mindblowing. I came here based on the great reviews and I must say that even though it did not dissapoint, it was not top of the line Italian beef, and I must say that I have had far better before. Needless to say, I would try this place out if you are in the area but there is no need to go out of the way!

I love Pop’s and this is the best location. I’ve been to Lyons, Tinley Park, Orland Park, Frankfort, and here. This is my favorite location by far. I love, love, love their Full Fry. So beautiful for only about $ 2. I enjoy the beef sandwich too. I order it plain and dry. I love the cheese sticks too! Their red sauce is too legit to quit.

Not all Pop’s are the same but this store is the standard. Never had a bad meal and I swear I’ve had about everything on the menu. Newly added seasoned fries are awesome and you gotta try the corned beef Reuben

It was my first visit to pops the other day and I have to say they’re pretty great. Very comparable to portillos and other Chicago style restaurants, but I’d say their beef is a head above the rest. However, their dogs are not nearly as good as portillos. Pops will be a go to whenever I have volleyball tournaments in palos

This was the worst Italian beef of life. It’s no Portillos that’s for damn sure. I would rather get aids than eat another beef sandwich from Pops. No flavor, not juicy at all, it was like eating cardboard out of raccoons butthole.

The five stars is for the very delicious combo sweet n hot dipped that I had for lunch today. This my first visit to this Palos Heights location but I do visit the Elmhurst location regularly. This location doesn’t have seating or restrooms so if that’s a requirement you’ll need to try a different place for lunch. I ordered the half fries with my beef and it was Huge! Plenty of parking here on the east side which is the Jewel parking lot– no problems. I can tell that this Pop’s is a fan favorite with the locals– it’s packed! I will be coming back! Enjoy!

–Recording in Progress– Hubby: I’m hungry, are you? Me: Yes, I am. Want me to Unilocal? Hubby: Please… let me show you the routine to the next service call. (Hubby started driving toward Oak Brook direction) Me: there are too many commercial places in Oak Brook… how about Palos Heights? Hubby: that would be alright. what did you find? (Waiting for the Unilocal result to be shown…) Me: let’s go with this Italian beef place. I know you prefer something that’s vegetarian-friendly, but I want this! Pop’s Italian a Beef & Sausage is located adjacent to the Jewel-Osco. Their restaurant lot is extremely limited, but I saw many people were parking at the Jewel’s lot. We followed the crowd and stayed curious about this place. Pop’s has NO sit-down places. If you want to «dine-in,» you can either stand and utilize the table along the windows. Otherwise, you may go back to your vehicle and make paparazzi jealous of your Italian beef sandwich. Once you’ve placed the order, remember who helped you because he/she would call you to the register to cash out. Then you would hold onto the # in your hand. Our order was ready within five(5) minutes! They were definitely Express with an capital«E.» The lunch crowd was massive, but no worries because the workers were working super-sonically. We went with Unilocalers’ recommendation: Italian beef sandwich with hot giardiniera. I typically a «sweet peppers» gal, but a little change-up seemed to pay off. Their peppers had the right amount of spiciness, crunchiness, and kick. In addition, their beef was super, ultra juicy! Two(2) stack of napkins were so needed to soak up all the liquid. I wish I was given a cup to retain all the juice that flew out the beef! For $ 4.99(before tax) for an order of Italian beef sandwich, the portion was filling. I could confidently say that I wasn’t disappointed! Now I gotta work on re-ranking the Italian-beef contenders in the Chicagoland. Pop’s was certainly a dark horse…

My family and I have been coming here religiously for close to 20 years now. I have not had better beef anywhere else in Chicago! Seriously, it is awesome. Their bbq beef, too, is to die for! Their chicken sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs(that come with fries for $ 2.50) are excellent! Orders are prompt and always correct. For any newbies out there, watch the person in front of you order. Make it quick and to the point. There’s a precious system that should never be messed with. Literally it’s like the Soup Nazi(order, take two steps to the right and pay) but the people are waaaaaaay friendlier! If you’re looking for a quick bite that’s quality, look no further!

First I would like to thank them for the coupon at the St. Al’s trunk or treat! Thank you for supporting the community. The shake flavors here are amazing and the beef is really good. My daughter loves a hot dog from Pop’s more than any other place. the atmosphere is friendly. lots of kids working here, once again thank you for creating jobs in the community for our youth as well. Great food at a good price!

I spent the last couple of weeks in the ‘burbs with the parental units. We ordered from Pop’s twice, which is surprisingly low since I could probably eat their Italian Beef sandwich every day. But alas, I am trying to be healthy, so once per week was my limit. My family has been ordering from here for years. When I’m in suburbia, this is one of two go-to Italian Beef places. As long as they keep making it as yummy as they have been, I will continue to swing by on my visits to the parentals!

Awesome food spot. Everything is very delicious and good portions. Fries could rank among the best in the world. Original pops and always the best. Very cheap too!

Their beef although satisfied my hunger was just okay. I expected way better and maybe it was a case of overhyped assessments. I appreciated their own homemade effort for giardinara, yet their hot mix just wasn’t spicy enough. The beef although tender was also bland. This place gives you a ton of fries that makes their half order feed a party of three. They taste good but not anything different than one can get at McDonalds. Pop’s hotdogs look as though they’d give Portillos a run for their money. I’d try those next time instead while rolling through. The service was extremely efficient and quick.

If I checked in every time I went to Pop’s, I might break Unilocal.I’ve grown up going to Pop’s. It was the meal after rec center t-ball and, later, softball games. Studying-for-finals fuel. Heck, I even ate Pop’s before I went to prom(and was voted prom queen; this food is magic in every way, I swear). I’ve danced my way over much of the menu over time. Their hot dogs with steamed buns that are never weirdly dried out are killer and my usual go-to. The chicken basket is a family of juicy white meat chicken tenders on a bed of the fries that McDonald’s rejects that still manage to taste, like, three jillion(that big) times better than McDonald’s. Their thin burger patties are juicy and flavorful. The chocolate milkshake tastes like a big hug after a hard day. It’s not a Palos Heights party without Pop’s chicken or beef either. And the prices are really second to none. So much food for so little. I love that Pop’s still lets me order kids’ meals, even though I am clearly old enough to be babysitting kids’ meal-aged children. This means I can get a burger or hot dog, an order of fries, and a drink for less than $ 4. Their adult value meals are cheaper than what you’d get at McDonald’s down the street with the added bonus that they are made with so much more love and compassion(can you tell I have it out for McDonald’s a little?). The staff has always been pleasant and competent and have messed up an order less times than I can count on one finger in all the times I’ve been there. Which is a loooot. All in all, Pop’s is delicious and I love them maybe too much and give your business to them instead of McDonald’s.

Pops is a great option for a beef sandwich, or a hot dog and fry’s. Especially for an area that doesn’t have a Portillos near by. They have a different ice cream/milk shake featured every month, and this month was Banana Split, and it was awesome. Never had a Banana Split milk shake before, but I would definitely have one again. Prices here are reasonable as well. Definitely one of the better options in the area for Italian Beef.
