Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner with my family and parents. The atmosphere was great. Cozy like a wood lodge with a great fireplace right in the center. The staff was great! Very friendly and attentive. The food… Excellent! Had a great meal. Bread was toasted and warm! I will definitely be back. It was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The only downfall was that the bar was not open. No idea why

Have it been to this place in 5 years & now I remember why. I was invited by family in friends to join for dinner and one of their guest got 3 long pieces of hair in their meat sauce. Also they ordered clams with just bread crumbs not even clam in it! This place should be given no stars. All I have to say is I’m glad I ate before I came.

Friday night dinner at a new restaurant landed us here at Bertucci’s. I’m often on the bubble about reading reviews before, during, or after visit a place. I did however read some of the Unilocal reviews before going in. When we got there, we were seated right away due to the fact that the place was almost empty. Choose to sit inside even though the outside dining area looked wonderful. Our server was there within a few minutes to bring bread and take the drink orders. This is were they lose one star with me, first they only serve wine and beer, and we both had a taste for a cocktail. Also like someone else mentioned the bread was stale and tasted bad. The table behind sent it back for a new loaf. I ordered the ravioli appetizer, which for the price was fairly small and not all that good. We both ordered pasta dishes, they were piping hot and quite large servings. The sauce was a bit on the bland side, but some salt and cheese took care of that problem. Our server, Klaudia was on her game when it came to keeping the glasses full, never once did our drink glasses go empty. Will repeat in the future.

I was excited to try this restaurant and left very disappointed. The food and service was terrible. The waitress spilled salad dressing on my wife and did not apologize and was very rude and short throughout the evening. Our groupon stated a free dessert which we ordered then surprisingly were charged for. That led to an argument and they still would not take it off the bill. I will never set foot in this place ever again!!! Only reason they get 1 star is because I have to have one.

Very nice dinner there last night. Went with my girlfriends and now have to take my husband soon. Go-try it-nice neighborhood place. Go to Bertucci’s for… Good Friendly Service — nice clean atmosphere and great menu choices at reasonable prices. Bertucci’s service is much improved from my last dinner there. They have more servers who are very friendly and attentive. I observed other diners and they seemed to have the same experience. They always have a nice list of ‘Specials’ and I usually order one. Their regular menu though is a nice mix of the traditional Italian selections and some unique ones. You won’t leave hungry. They need to add a signature dessert though. They also have a good wine selection. Beautiful patio area too!

I hate to do this. This place has so much potential. The staff is really nice. I enjoy the room and the patio looks awesome! I just don’t think I can bring myself to have another dinner here. I knew things were going to bad when the bread sucked. It wasn’t anywhere near fresh! It was pretty much stale! Gross. Fresh bread is a cheap thing to get right. They really need to improve in this area. The mussels weren’t terrible. I’m shocked they ended up being the best thing I ate all night. It’s a shame I didn’t have delicious bread to soak the sauce up with. I can’t really comment on the smelt at the table(never been a fan). My friends pork chops were really over cooked. My pasta was under cooked. The sauce wasn’t that good either. It wasn’t awful. Just not my favorite. Had the pasta been cooked properly I probably could have lived with the sauce. The dessert and wine menu are pretty limited for the area. That was another disappointment. It’s cheap and the staff is as sweet as can be. Maybe if I’m in the area I’ll swing by the patio for a drink in the summer.

This is not Italian… The waitress didn’t know what a caprese salad was and the bruchetta was the grossest(I’m not sure that’s even a word) ever. Don’t do here.

Poor service manned by an uninformed staff, food was below average, too bad sbarro is going under, they had better pasta. Unilocal says my review is short, i say it’s concise. Dine at your own risk, i would not recommend for a special occasion or anything meaningful, the service will ruin your event.

Our first visit to their beautiful patio was four years ago and we’ve been back several times, often with Groupons. The food has always been consistently OK to good and we love sitting among the grapevines and flowers. A recent visit, with a Groupon, was an outstanding experience. Not sure if the chef is new, but specials were unusually creative. We shared a stuffed tilipia, not an easy item to make, I’m sure, and it was absolutely delicious. The baked clams were also excellent. Wines by the glass, although not high end, are good and reasonably priced for the pour If you haven’t been lately, give it another try. You save with a Groupon, but they have special days with special offers that are a great deal. And it’s the most beautiful patio in the Southwest suburbs.

Not the dining experience you hope to have. The interior is cute– wood log cabin. They have a fantastic patio outside. But neither of these things can make up for poor customer service and sub par food. This is the second time I have eaten at Bertucci’s. The first was with a Groupon. The food was bland and overpriced both times. Service was mediocre. The only reason I came back was for a family gathering. For Mother’s Day we too were told no split checks. I agree with the previous review. In this day and age it shouldn’t be a hassle. Especially since the restaurant was half full and the patio empty. As Drink refills are NOT free. This is not stated in the menu, nor will your server tell you this. Food is nothing to write home about. In fact I can make a much better dish at home for a fraction of the price. Very bland favors. I found myself dousing the meal in pepper. They did give the mothers a gift as we left– a gift card that will never be used.

We went to this place with a groupon and thank God because we would have been even more disappointed if we payed full price! The restaurant was overly crowded and unbearably hot. The décor was cheap as were the table settings. The wine selection was also cheap and much more limited than I would expect. The food itself was absolutely terrible. Generic and tasteless. Definitely not the«authentic» Italian cuisine they boast; you’d be better off with a frozen meal from Jewel. The waitress was good however; they were understaffed but she was very nice and did her job effectively and with a positive attitude, even though she was extremely busy.

I’d like to preface this review stating we went here on a groupon. Service: We received prompt service and attention when needed from our waitress, no complaints at all. Appetizer: We had the fried ravioli, it was really good! Soup: I had the minestone, it was a bit salty but other than that it was good. My wife had the cream of potato, I forgot to ask her how she liked it so maybe I’ll update this later. Bar selection: I had a Peroni, can’t really screw that up. My wife had a glass of riesling. I was a bit disappointed in their wine selection considering they were all Barefoot brands. I was further disappointed when they charged $ 7 for a glass of Barefoot Riesling. I’m pretty sure you can get a gallon of that at the liquor store for that price. Dinner: I had the Chicken Vesuvio, the chicken wasn’t that flavorful but the potatoes were. My wife had the baked mostaccioli and she loved it so that alone would make me give this place a second chance.

The worst food I’ve ever had — no joke. Service was terrible, too. Which is sad because the patio is beautiful! STAYAWAY unless you like gross food and bad service.

Food is delicious, but the service was real slow. Had to leave after an hour and a half because my 18 month old couldn’t sit there any longer without going stir crazy. Brought our dinners home to eat them there.

I really wanted to like this place. It is so cute on the outside, and has an inviting outdoor eating area. It all fell apart the moment we walked in the door. The waitresses were completely uninterested as the one bus boy literally did everything. ((the bus boy was phenomenal. At least our water glass was always full!!)) The appetizer– bruschetta– actually has no tomatoes at all. It’s a bit misleading, and is actually only a cheesy bread with a spear of asparagus. Slightly disappointing. The salad and soup were fair– tasty and a nice compliment. The entrees were not great. Not much flavor– but generously portioned. I did not take my leftovers. We did have a groupon– thankfully. But, we will not be returning.

On my last night in Chicago, I took my friend’s family out to dinner at Bertucci’s, figuring it would be a good spot for a hearty, family-style dinner. Bertucci’s was packed – obviously many others had the same idea. We started with some appetizers, including the tomato bread and the sausages with peppers. The tomato bread was basically brushcetta – literally tomatoes served atop bread.(Apparently the dish that’s actually called bruschetta isn’t made with tomatoes.) The sausages were a little too sweet for my tastes, but tender and juicy. The peppers were a tad too bitter, but made for a good contrast with the sweet sausages. We were all intrigued by the pumpkin ravioli that was the night’s special entrée, so I asked to get an order as an appetizer. Our server didn’t take too kindly to this request, but she finally relented. When I ordered the ravioli, I was a little surprised when our server asked if I wanted it in the marinara or meat sauce. Usually pumpkin ravioli is served in a brown butter sauce, not a tomato-based one. When it arrived, the ravioli were doused in marinara sauce – a big shame considering the sweet tomatoes completely overpowered the subtle ravioli. And when I tasted the ravioli, it was also too sweet and too cheesy. Entrees include a choice of soup or salad – I opted for salad. Sadly, the lettuce was bland and watery, with equally bland tomatoes – you know, the ones that taste like Styrofoam. Salads are really simple dishes, and this one certainly suffered for its lack of good ingredients. For my entrée, I chose the chicken vesuvio. The chicken was flavorful, cooked in olive oil, garlic and wine – a simple, classic combination. The chicken was nicely cooked, and a generous portion served with mashed potatoes. I was even willing to forgive the peas in the dish – I normally loathe those little green devils! The food here didn’t exactly wow me – the flavors were all pretty one-note. They were classic combinations – tomatoes, wine sauces – but really just the standard fare executed without any extra heart or soul. The entrees are large, but honestly the flavors weren’t anything wowing. I wish Bertucci’s would pay a little more attention to flavor rather than portion size. The food was fair enough, but the service was utterly disappointing. I’m hoping it was just because it was a full house, but our server was terse and borderline rude throughout our entire dinner. It definitely put a downer on what should have been a fun dinner out. Bummer. The food at Bertucci’s wasn’t exactly gourmet – it was humble, family-style Italian cuisine, with that rough around the edges charm. If that’s what you’re in the mood for, Bertucci’s will fit the bill just fine.

Was Abraham Lincoln Italian? Maybe on his mom’s side… Bertucci’s has a log cabin décor, which isn’t real Mediterranean but tasteful and cheery nonetheless. You also have the option of eating outside under a grape arbor. Still… I was kind of «triste» after our meal here. I had come here for drinks after work, and I suggested to my husband that we try it for dinner. We were both disappointed. –The prices were on the high side for this end of town. –I had shrimp with pasta and brocolli(«shrimp lisa») which was mediocre – Olive Garden could have done better, and the point in coming to Bertucci’s was to have a non-Olive Garden Italian experience. –My husband had the special, which he found icky. He didn’t mention this to the waitress because he thought this was just his taste, but I tried it and didn’t like it either. Nonetheless, we had it boxed, and our daughter tried it the next day. Her comment: «Eww. What was that stuff? It was kind of gross.» Our daughter is not a picky eater and always likes to try new things, so three strikes against this. –Entrees include soup or salad, which was also just so-so. –We waited forty minutes between finishing our salad and getting our entrée. The waitress was very sweet and apologized, saying they had a large party going on, but the restaurant should have put more people on for that shift if they were so under-staffed. Bertucci’s is an old company – the restaurant used to be in Chicago’s Little Italy. Their reputation has stood the test of time, obviously, so I don’t know if we just caught it on a night when the chef was distracted and the waitstaff overwhelmed, or if they’re resting on their laurels at this point. If the latter is the case, they should think about the first impression they’re giving to people who value good Italian cuisine.

My husband and I have driven by this place several times and finally decided to try it when we bought a Groupon… and so glad we did. We went on a beautiful summer Friday evening and the outdoor patio was gorgeous. You did not realize you were on 103rd and Roberts Road, GREAT atmosphere. The server was attentive and nice. The food was very good, I had a shrimp and pasta dish and my husband had a steak and we both enjoyde our entrees. We will definitely be back again and recommend it to our friends and family.

The service was substandard, and the food was a bit insipid. We have bread and butter. Okay, now please tell me waitress, how would you like me to spread this hard butter onto my bread? Oh, looks like I’m talking to myself because our waitress disappeared. I had to jack plates and silverware off vacant tables around us because they didn’t bother to give us any. I’m not a big Italian food person as it is, but I simply found my dinner inanimate. We had the pizza bread for an appetizer. I could have made better pizza bread myself. In fact, I have… when I was 8 years old. My sausage and peppers were just tolerable enough to where I ate most of it. But the green pepper tasted oddly intense. Almost bitter. I made weird faces as I was eating it. I don’t like when food makes me do that. Do I have anything positive to say about Bertucci’s? Well I like the atmosphere. The whole lodge feel is comforting. And umm… the minestrone soup is pretty good. See? Not all bad. It usually takes a lot of things to go good for me to get excited about an Italian restaurant. But unfortunately, I will probably not return here voluntarily.
