Trove General Store

Love this store! Very helpful staff and great clothes.

Went in this past weekend to grab a few items for the holidays and my wife’s birthday. We both Always enjoy the store and merchandise. Today walked in and had to seek out the help… all the girls huddled around the cash wrap unable to really answer questions or suggest items or alternatives since that would break the group conversation up. There is an entire store to engage customers in… not just at checkout. Oh well… Moved on and bought elsewhere still local just bummed since I like the store and the unique and quality items they have. Help is probably harder to obtain these days. Will try again before the holidays are over.

I was looking for a pair of wolverine 1000 mile boots. I went in but they didn’t have my size. The owner, Charlotte, ordered my size and called me when they arrived. The staff there was very knowledgable and friendly. I was very happy with everything and will definitely shop there again.

I love this place! There is nothing else like it around. They have a great selection of fun, unique, quality items. You can find a gift for everyone and anyone on your list who will appreciate local, quality or artisan pieces-​and of course something for yourself! If it weren’t a creepy thing to do I would go there with coffee and a book and relax on their sofa! But that would be creepy so…
Anyway the store just has that kind of warm and inviting vibe. I have had nothing but lovely experiences here.

Upon returning to Trove to close out my $ 200 credit and through a variety of email exchanges (which they acquired through my initial «exchange» request), I was given the opportunity to reevaluate Trove’s full «Local Shop» model.
I spoke to Charlotte via email and she expressed only regret, having no animosity toward my previous entry. She did everything she could to offer help and work with me to move past my previous experience. It’s clear TGS cares about their customer base and really took my previous criticism to heart– I honestly appreciate it when an owner doesn’t become defensive to criticism and instead works toward making things right (instead of worse). It’s that notion combined with their admirable business model that gives Trove the favorable rating.
TGS still does have one of the best, if not the best offerings within the greater Philadelphia area and they’re expanding their repertoire. Though I still didn’t have the opportunity to meet an owner, I did get an opportunity to meet one of their more helpful and affable employees. They just need to replicate that roster quality across their entire staff (which I am sure they’re already working toward!).
Though a bit more apprehensive than originally, I will probably end up returning to Trove for that Spring 15 shipment.

Trove was an early store to realize that people like to buy quality goods that are Made in America. Yeah, the prices are generally higher but so is the quality, fit and fabric. It’s not Old Navy. Bills Khakis are made nearby in Reading. My Imogene + Willie jeans are a staple and made in Nashville. Danner boots are made in Portland. They place a value on items that can be used for many years, repaired and acquire a broken in look and feel that can’t be replicated by buying off the rack. If that appeals to you then this place will be a revelation.
That said, you will find some very good values here. Wrangler’s 13MWZ Cowboy Cut jeans at under $ 40 are possibly the best value in jeans anywhere. Sold unwashed and raw they take 3 washings just to break them in. My ranching family in Nebraska swears by them. They also have great sales.

ignore the curmudgeon below, this is the most wonderful store, owned by three of the nicest people you could ever know, who are almost always there to help you themselves.
trove is a true gem with an exceptional variety of high quality clothing and home goods. everything from high performance gear (canada goose, dubarry, etc.) to every day wear (imogene + willie, woolrich, etc.).
this place is packed with goodies in every nook and cranny: local honey, soy candles, small batch perfumes and colognes, handmade jewelry, cookbooks, chocolate, cozy socks… i could go on, but i suggest you just stop by the store yourself… they’ll greet you with a smile and if you’re lucky: a beer.

Trove is simply awesome; they carry such a wide assortment of brands that you can’t find anywhere else — Bill’s Khakis, Filson, Belstaff, Boast, Red Wing, Levi Vintage, Imogene + Willie, etc. — as well as great miscellaneous items like coffee table books, local honey, candles, incense… the list goes on and on. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, and Charlotte, the owner, is super nice and super helpful. My favorite store in the Philadelphia area.

Was looking for a coat and stopped into this store never again. The sales staff were too busy telling jokes to assist me. When I asked for help they told me they would be right there and went on with their story. I left. Perhaps the owner should train the staff. Prices were high, service terrible.

Stumbled upon this gem while wondering the Main Line today and feel the need to shout the tales of its awesomeness from the rooftops. In short, Trove is a men’s and women’s clothing and accessories store, with a curated collection of home wares, books and apothecary. The General Store was an absolute breath of fresh air in a much needed retail prison. While I browsed all the general store had to offer I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, who introduced me to his fiancé and nephew who were both in store. A true example of the down home family feel of the joint. The brief small talk I encountered left me with a delightful lasting impression. Plus, Every item in stock is hand picked by the tripod of owners, making every item pretty much amazing. Go check it out!!!
