Panda Express

First had PE in Idaho and was so glad when they came to Omaha. Their honey shrimp is to die for. Huge shrimp! Every thing I’ve tried is great.

Absolutely disgusting! The food looks as if it sat out all day. Their ratio and portioning is way off, and the food here is flavorless.

Big fail for vegetarians. They got rid of the tofu eggplant. I wasn’t completely shocked because it’s the Midwest. The worst part was the rude girl. I asked if they still had it because sometimes things are still available after being taken off the menu. The answer I got was a snappy «We don’t have eggplant ANYTHING.» She offered a halfhearted apology as I drove off to get food elsewhere because that left me no low-​carb veg options except steamed veggies.

The staff is more worried with closing early than running the place. Tried their mobile app to place an order since I was going to do some quick shopping at Walmart next door, even though they didn’t close for another three hours the mobile ordering pushed the ability to order to the next day?! Crazy. Girl running the drive-​thru was rude and just held out their hands demanding payment.
The door really isn’t fixed still, and the parking lot really isn’t lit at night. Very low lightning if any at all. I’d worry someone could easily get hurt.
This place really isn’t worth it. Just fast, cheap rice; if they get the order right and remember to give you a straw. Last time they were out of tea too. I don’t drink soda, wanted just plain tea. Seems easy enough.

The door is still not fixed, don’t know why that bothers me, but its been over a month, I think they need to get with it ! Went there on a Saturday around 7 pm, tons of cars in the drive thru and the line to order was out the door. It bothers me when I wait so long to have to order and the people in front of me still don’t know what they want. waited in line for 10 minutes, you think they would have enough time to make up their mind. The lady taking the orders must of been in a bad mood, they don’t usually hire people like here there (rude rude rude) she had glasses and was older. (10−10−15). She must of been hating her job that night or something. Not friendly at all, while waiting for my orange chicken to cook, because they were out, again, surprise surprise, I had time to observe her, I don’t think anyone in line was enjoying their experience. I was the 6^th up waiting for Orange chicken and it finally got made. when I left they had a car blocking the drive thru lane, which was weird because it was open earlier. the probably couldn’t keep up and just made everyone go inside. The blocked drive thru made it bad in the parking lot though because people would have to back up to find a spot. Also when I checked out they gave me some punch card looking thing, but they didn’t even bother to punch it for the meal that I have ordered. Whats the point of giving it to me if your not going to punch it?

The food is good most of the time, sometimes its like it has been sitting there all day. Ocasionally they get my order wrong. The nirth door has been broken for a few weeks now. They are never «open» when they are supposed to be. One day I came by two hours after they were supposed to be open all of the doors were locked and people could see me inside the building I had to actually call them and ask them if they were open and then they came and unlock the doors for me and then today I came in half an hour after they had opened double checking when they was supposed to open me and two other people were in the drive thru waiting and I had was trapped between these two cars we SAT there for over 15 minutes before the car in front of me finally gave up people inside the building were looking out at us but would not come out to tell us that day either weren’t open or their drive thru window wasn’t working nothing I then went up to the door to triangle inside and they were still locked and people just stared at me as I try to open the door and when I tried calling their line was busy all morning

Why, oh why, can’t these items be resolved?
Sad.

Arrived 30 minutes before close and they had nothing that we wanted to eat. Staff is more concerned with going home early then doing their job. Alas this is the norm rather than the exception with Panda Express these days. Even during the day they are often out of food.

Due to all our kids activities we have had instituted Chinese Tuesdays as a quick way to provide a decent meal to our family. In my opinion, Their food is fresh and felt we got a decent amount for the price. I always order their two entrée meal in a take-​home box. The styrofoam box is divided into one main section (for the rice) and two smaller sections for each entrée. Until recently, they would provide rice in the main section and the two entrees on each side of the smaller sections in the box of the take-​home box. Now, while doing the same thing their trick is to put some rice on the bottom underneath each entrée as well as provide the rice in the main section of the box. Must be their way to save on expenses while making it look like the entrée is just the entrée. I found the rice underneath each entrée. I do not know the reason they started doing this but if I was to make an assumption it would be due to cost control. However, I would suggest they just give less as it feels to me anyways as a deceptive practice which turns me off from wanting to purchase food from them.

As far as fast chinese food goes i was more than content when i left this restaurant. They had a large variety to choose from and if the item u want on the bar is low or if you want it straight off of the wok they are more than happy to whip up a fresh batch. I had the firecracker chucken some steak/​mushroom mix and sweet chicken. I was impressed and my stomach was pleased after indulging. The only complaint i have is that the lo mein noodles were not as soft as i would like. To me the lo mein pulls the whole meal together therefore i gave 4 stars. Fresh, delicious, and affordable. I will return!

As far as fast food Chinese goes, it’s so good. Don’t expect a gourmet meal and you’ll be fine.
It’s cheap and quick, and they usually have everything ready to go!
I recommend the sweet and sour chicken, which is what I always see everyone getting anyway.

It bugs the heck out of me that multiple times I’d like some hot n sour soup with my meal, and the calmly say, «Actually, we’re out if soup today.» I’m guessing a third of my visits are like this. I know it’s not the best soup in the world, but I still want it. I give you one star today because the attitude behind the comment was, «sucks to be you.»

Incongruous or innovative?
I’ve visited several Panda Express restaurants over the years, and my reaction is always the same: it’ll do in a pinch, but I’m not especially motivated to come back. On this visit, I was struck by the incongruities in the restaurant:
Chinese food… but without chopsticks or hot tea.
Fast food… but with granite tables and elegant lighting.
A simple menu… yet confusing.*
*The menu boards and pricing are overtly manipulative. The cheapest option, the $ 5.49 entrée with one side, is buried off to the side. Unlike any other Asian restaurant, rice counts as a «side.» Some dishes cost extra but aren’t clearly labeled. This set up a mildly adversarial tone to the visit which was hard for me to shake off.
The food was decent, and they were serving several items you won’t find on your typical cookie-​cutter Chinese buffet. It takes a while to figure out the ordering system and to select from the dozen or so entrees, so if you’re a first-​timer, I’d recommend a visit during a slow time when you won’t feel rushed.

Just plain bad. It started off so well and slowly went down hill. The food is gross and the restaurant is filthy all of the time.

This place is just fast food Chinese. It gets the job done but I am looking for something better. Suggestions?

Great place to go for some Orange Chicken. Parking lot is small, but since the hype has died down no craziness.

Fast food American style Chinese. I love the chicken pot stickers. But normally will get my entrée from else where. It’s not horrible, just Panda Express! You don’t come here for authentic food. You come when you are jonesin’ for high sodium and «surf and turf» Chinese. (Surf and Turf is actually the concept for the current menu)

The food is good! My favorite is the pot stickers.
