Last Call is what Neiman Marcus calls their annual and seasonal closeout sales. These are usually great times to save on a wide variety of sale items that have been marked down for final clearance. Last Call is also the name of Neiman Marcus’ outlet stores but unfortunately they bare no resemblance to their more upscale cousin at all. Case in point: On my recent visit, I saw a wide variety of clothing from Original Penguin, Super Dry and Psycho Bunny to name a few stand outs. The only problem is that Neiman Marcus doesn’t sell any of those brands in their stores with the exception of a few styles of Psycho Bunny socks that you can only buy online. I find this deceptive and rather detrimental to the Neiman Marcus brand. People blissfully shop there thinking that they’re getting bargains on Neiman’s merchandise when, in reality, it’s not Neiman’s merchandise that they’re selling. Of the upscale retailers who’ve opened up so called«outlets» including Nordstrom Rack, Bloomingdales Outlet and Saks Off Fifth, Last Call bares the least resemblance to their namesakes. For lack of a better word, this is a craphole pretending to be a Neiman Marcus affiliate. Unfortunately the only thing they have in common is their name.

Disappointing for me! Not a hell of a lot to choose from in way of the Men’s in here. The brands are also not as compelling as other Last Call stores. The one in Woodbury is far superior! Very quite vibe in the store and no one ever greets you, a pet peeve of mine. Their competitors, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and C21 have far more extensive selections and more compelling product for men.

I rarely ever shop and even more so I never review stores. However, I am prompted to write this review based on the shitty customer service that I experienced at this useless store. Here is where it begins. I was in NJ in town for a visit and it so happens that I got a $ 50 coupon if one spends a $ 100 when I booked my hotel. So, I get two items and not knowing the price with the coupon approached a «cashier». Now, here is where it went south and really awkward pretty darn quick. In an accusatory and rude tone she«states you know you can’t use this coupon again right, because we would have your name etc. Lady cashier, first thing you don’t know me, secondly how are you going to insinuate that I am going to be dishonest with a $ 50 coupon, I am not even from NJ and how does finding out the price of an item quickly turn into a conversation of this manner. It was a dressed down talking too like I was a kid. I quickly told her in a polite voice lady I am pretty aware it’s a one time thing, I am from out of town, and frankly I don’t have time for even shopping. It so happens that the combining items was a no no in order to get that $ 50 off, I tried to get something else but at that point I was just so downright pissed that I felt this store didn’t deserve a $ 1 of my cash. I promptly went to Macy’s where I bought some items and treated with fantastic customer service. This lady needs to learn the basics of what that means and how to talk to customers. Useless cashier.

This is a better one than in the Woodbury Commons. But that does not make it great. Neimans does not have their heart in the outlet store business and it shows. But you can find nice things here on occasion, and if you are super lucky they will be waaaay marked down. So you never know. Not my first stop in the mall but if I have time Ill come here. OK parking.

The selection is very limited for men, but you will definitely find a gem if you’re willing to put in the time. On my last visit I purchased a Michael Kors Wool Charcoal Top Coat for the amazing price of $ 125. The retail price of said coat is $ 495. I’m still beaming from my win. If you’re looking for higher end and don’t want to face the crowds at Century 21, then Last Call is the place to be. From Hickey Freeman to Bugatchi, Last Call has the brands to appease most upper middle class shoppers. On a logistical level, there is no direct access to the rest of Bergen Town Center. You have to walk through the parking garage or go outside and enter through Nordstrom Rack to gain mall access. It’s a bit of a pain I’ll admit, but it wasn’t that big of a deal after my Michael Kors win. Patience…
