Ahh The Orange Lantern aka the OL I have been coming here for quite some time now and I must say it is easily the go to spot for my friends and I. Located rite off of rt 17 and next to the fashion center its a great place to come and hang with friends or watch a game. The food here is pretty good too especially their chicken fingers and sweet potato fries and you can’t forget the wings. They have everything from pizza, quesadillas, fries, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken(your average bar food) and everything is reasonably priced and tasty. I wouldn’t necessarily come here just to eat I come here more for a buzz and a light snack to soak up the liquor. The bartenders are awesome, really friendly and fast making it super easy to get a drink here. There is plenty of entertainment that goes on here throughout the week such as trivia night, karaōke night, not to mention they have live bands come and play from time to time and that always draws in the most interesting people I have ever seen. The scene here is very laid back and casual which I like. They also have a dart board in the back which is fun for a quick game. Overall this bar is filled with locals and if you are not trying to see your entire graduating class this bar may not be the place for you but if you are looking for a good time, a buzz and some good bar food well my dear look no further!

I haven’t really eaten here before(although they do have really good crinkle cut fries) and have really only gone for drinks. You can’t beat the $ 15 beer tower, but even the prices for bottles/drafts are very reasonable too. Very much of a dive bar, but that’s what makes it so great. If you go there during the week it is pretty empty, but on the weekends it ranges from comfortably busy to packed. Always a variety of people. They have great live music on the weekends! I have never seen a band there I didn’t like. Also, they have darts!

This place is seriously great. I remember looking at this place while growing up and wondering who would go here, let’s say I’ve figured out why they’ve been open for so long. To start, it’s not a frills bar, it’s loud and old, but that’s just the way I like it. The drinks are very cheap and all the bartenders are friendly. I’ve never been disappointed by a 3 dollar beer… What makes this place great is… The food. Everything I’ve had is fantastic and this place is home to the best buffalo wings/sauce I’ve ever had. The wraps, French dip, fries and onion rings are all amazing and I highly recommend you order food when you visit. My only complaint is that they charge you for a side of sauce, which is a little tacky but it’s worth the 50 cents. Come in on a weekend and enjoy some live music, great food and cheap drinks. There isn’t much more to ask for.

Great, accepting bar! We came on a random week day during karaōke night and there were a whole mix of people there. The drinks were cold and the service was brisk, and our food came out on point. Definitely a grrreat establishment.

It’s a local bar with great happy hour menu. Their wings are the best in Paramus. We always order the tower with wings. They do not a have large selection of craft beers like other sports bars. However, I go here for their wings, beer, and good times. Also pricing is very reasonable.

Come here for the french dip! It’s very tasty, as is the french onion soup. The buffalo wings were a little too spicy for my liking but a solid order. The beers are cold and they had a fun rock cover band play on Halloween. A good, no frills kinda bar.

I LOVE The O-Lan. They serve good«bar food». The drinks are great. The wait staff are hard working and attentive. They never messed up my order. And they remembered me even though I never went there more than once a month. The bands they get are usually good.

Great atmosphere, bar food, and beverages. The live music every once in a while is a nice touch, too! Parking and seating is absolute hell, though.

I never had food there, I went on a Friday night last September, to see Hybrid Cover band(really great band), and had a drink, I think it was coconut rum and coke. Bartender was a nice young women. The drink is the same as it would be at any other regular old bar, and the place is pretty dumpy looking. What I do love is that they have live music, they pick good bands too, and there is no cover. They definitely need to clean up the place to make it more appealing, it attracts a much older crowd. Just an average bar.

Came here with a friend because we happened to be in the area and were in need of food and some beer. I ordered chicken quesadilla and wings, and my friend went with mozzarella sticks and a margherita pizza. The wings were nothing special. Not awful, but there are so many places that do a far better job with them. The quesadilla? I was delivered a plain cheese quesadilla and noticed about halfway through it was chicken free. The waitress offered to replace it, but since I was half done I declined. There was nothing special at all about the quesadilla other than the overcooked tortilla that disintegrated into a crumbly mess the moment I bit into it.. My friend underwhelmed with the pizza. It was a very doughy offering with little flavor. It screamed canned sauce with its cloying sweetness. The mozzarella sticks were the standard fare that thousands of restaurants buy frozen and dump into the fryer. I don’t expect much from these frozen and fried morsels, but a good sauce can save the day. They were served with a sauce that tasted mass market. Overly sweet. It probably came from the same can of industrial sauce they use for the pizza. The beer selection was a huge disappointment. I understand that a «sports bar» needs to have plenty of Coors, Bud and Miller for those who enjoy that stuff, but there was very little to offer craft beer aficionados. This is 2015, not 1996. With all of those taps, I think a few could be devoted to few good craft beers. The only thing that came close was Goose Island, owned by Budweiser. The service was slooow. We were on our second beer before the food came. My wing«appetizer» came out a full 30 minutes after the rest of the food. And the bartender, though pleasant enough, seemed very absent minded. After serving us for over an hour and a half he asked us if we wanted to see a menu, as if we just walked in. He seemed surprised when we told him that we had already been served food. I love a place such as this with a history, but they need to get with the times. At least if you call yourself a sports bar, you should have killer wings and a passable pizza. They have neither. And a few decent brews on tap would be a huge plus. I doubt I will return.

I have been contacted by management with regard to a service they offer ‘karaōke’ not being their forte. My objective and purpose was to let first and foremost, consumers know and second, owners know what is going on. If an establishment offers a service it should be the best. Why offer it?

The waitresses are definitely nice. They don’t have a menu for what’s on draft so you have to ask each time. I got the buffalo wings with the homemade lava sauce which was really good. The french onion soup is really warming and filling. The onion rings were meh. Main problem was when we were finally ready for the check(and exhausted), it took us asking over 3 times to get it. It was alright but I don’t know if I’ll rush back.

Great local bar. Perfect place to come to close out the night. It’s a great place to come to watch any football game. They have live music most weekends — which can sometimes be too loud and bring in a strange crowd. Some of the bass are a lot of fun and can really make the night. They also have trivia nights, karaōke, djs, acoustic, etc. They have a dart board. The bartenders and staff are all amazing and very friendly. The food is also really good. The burgers and wraps are pretty amazing. My personal favorite is the buffalo chicken wrap.

I enjoyed this place and its proximity to my office is an additional plus. The bar is huge and has tons of seating. It was fairly busy at lunch but not crowded by any means. The menu is your typical bar food mostly. I love boneless wings(which I realize aren’t really wings) and ordered the barbecue ones. They were pretty good and I would get them again. Drinks are pretty cheap as well. Bartender was attentive and did a good job.

I like this place a lot. Typical dive bar with a good crowd. I like ordering the Beer Tower when we’re with a large group of people. Great place to invite a bunch of friends out. They have karaōke on Wednesday nights and the place is surprisingly popping for a weekday. I tried their Mozzarella Sticks and French Fries. They both were OK nothing to rave about. Most likely frozen, but this place isn’t meant for food, it’s meant for having fun drinking. The service is consistently great.

I’m reviewing this place as a bar not really a restaurant. The OL is a bar mostly frequented by locals. They have live bands play a lot, trivia nights, poker nights, DJ nights, etc etc. There’s a dart board and some other games. It’s just one big bar with a couple of TV’s so good for sports nights. During football season, for your viewing pleasure, they pull down a projector at the front to better watch the games. The best thing about this place are the bartenders. They’re all very nice and always fast. It’s very easy to get a drink here. Prices are ok but I wouldn’t say it’s a cheap bar. As for the food, it’s pretty good but I don’t come here for a sit down dinner. I come here to get drunk and maybe eat a little bar food. The pizza is the best, in my opinion. Chicken fingers, popcorn chicken, fries, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, nachos etc are all pretty standard as far as bar food goes. Overall, this is a great local hang out for Paramus people and a fun place to get drunk on the weekdays and weekends.
