I’ve been coming to this establishment for over 20 years and my past experience was by far the worst one I’ve encountered. We ordered our food and after 15 minutes went by, I noticed a few people who had ordered after me were getting their orders. We didn’t order anything too extreme where it would take extra time so I asked where was our order. Behind the counter was basically ran by about six high schoolers might I add. They all huddled up in a state of confusion and had come to the conclusion they gave my order to someone else. After another ten minutes, our food was finally ready. My order was a double cheddar bacon burger with a combo side of fries and rings. The food itself was still what I remembered and always pretty good. I’m hoping this was a fluke performance because I’d hate to not return to one of my go to burger joints when back home visiting.

A great place for food, fun, and family! While this restaurant has a lot of history behind itself and lovely model trains, this place also has the BESTPIZZAEVER! I also like their fries as well! Overall, great place to dine out!

THe fireplace is always such a treat. I really haven’t ever been disappointed. Cheeseburgers, Cajun fries, onion rings. Omg. And the endless supply of pickles. Nt to mention best old school vibe. I’m gonna muster up the courage to ask them if they can host my wedding. Some day, some day.

They say you’re only as good as your last hurrah, and let me tell you… I’m severely disappointed in my last visit here. This place was a «Straight Flush» every single visit years ago… someplace I could always count on for a good quality lunch meal when in the area. Burgers were near 6.0 oz., fries made nice n crispy… Excellent all around. Yesterday, went there… Burgers dropped to probably 4.0 oz, much smaller than a Mickee-Dee’s bun, soggy azz fries that needed a dose of Sildenafil Citrate and onion rings that came from the dollar store. Very disappointing experience. I’d rather see a place stick to a winning formula and raise prices accordingly than lower their standard of quality. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit here.

I have been to The Fireplace many time for breakfast. You order your food near the kitchen and then you wait for your food(you seat yourself). The wait time is very short. As for the food it is typical diner food. As to the quality of the food it is ok. In regards to prices, it is very reasonable. I would rate The Fireplaces as follows: Food is 2.5 Stars, Price is 3.5 Stars and Atmosphere is 3 Stars. The views expressed are of my own and are my true personal experience at this establishment. My personal experience may not reflect this actual establishment, their quality or someone else’s experience at the establishment.

I have been to the fireplace several times. Overall the food is good and inexpensive but nothing special. The fries and burger were a bit bland and the restaurant itself was a bit on the dirty side. It was a nice old-fashioned restaurant environment though.

I’m here every morning food is always consistent. Breakfast menu hasn’t changed since they opened and is very good. They wrap my feta cheese in 3 eggs like it is a newborn baby.

Walked in craving Pizza but apparently they are not offering pizza right now. The cashiers did say there is a rumor it may be back. Ordered the Texas dogs instead. Actually a pretty good choice. The hot dogs are grilled, crunchy outside soft inside… the only negative is the chili was more sauce then beef. But overall it was a pretty good meal. With all the other burger places lining route 17 I am just surprised they stopped offering pizza. But instead of going to BK for a hot dog… come here it’s well worth it. In terms of the dining area it is vey very clean and the condiment area actually is why I come back here. It is clean, fresh and definitely cared for… I am a bit of a germaphobe and I do trust this place 150%! The other positive is the Wi-Fi works exceptionally well. great place to eat and work at the same time!

Update: The counter staff has improved considerably. It’s been months since I was helped by anyone who didn’t speak excellent english.

Casual spot. The chicken sandwiches are big. They have some value meal options, but it’s too much food for me. I haven’t had the milkshakes or pizza here. The layout of the restaurant is a bit odd. The service is ok. For a place like this, the food and service is what I’d expect it to be. It’s good but nothing to write home about.

This place has a old family place feel. Old fashioned burgers and hot dogs the food isn’t bad but it isn’t great. It’s the perfect place to bring the family the kids could run and make noise and no one would care because most of the customers are too old to hear the loud noise mostly filled with world war 2 vets. Gotta love the vets if I could give them a star I would.

This has become a new lunch stop for me. Really cool looking rustic inside with a cozy fireplace. Ordering is take out style at a counter and you take your food to sit in the dining room. I’m a fan of the grilled cheese and Cajun fries. Inexpensive and delicious.

I drive past The Fireplace every day on my way to work, and I’ve always wanted to check it out. I’ve finally been there(twice) and I can say I enjoy it for what it is. The décor inside is cute and cozy. I always try to sit by one of the fireplaces they have in the two different sections of the restaurant. The food is standard fast food, with a plethora of different options. People are complaining about the burgers, but I like them. They’ve never been overdone when I’ve ordered them. They are thin and delicious. Last time I was there I tried the onion rings and they are much better than the fries. Definitely go for onion rings as a side! Their grilled cheese is also awesome. Nothing fancy, but buttered, melted, and toasted to perfection. And you know how sometimes you just want a cheap tasting chocolate shake? Get it here. I’ll definitely visit The Fireplace again… just not too often, my arteries can’t handle it!

The food is expensive for what you actually get. strange place. Definitely could use new management and a refresh. Can’t believe I paid 30 for breakfast. Do you self a favor and skip this place.

This place was OK. It’s casual and nice on the inside. I cane here for breakfast and ordered the short stack with orange juice. No WOW factor. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good enough to eat, but I would not recommend if you’re looking for an exquisite meal. The good thing is, the prices aren’t too bad; It could be lowered a bit, in my opinion, but again, it was OK. I had to order at the front and pick up my pancakes. The cashier did not give me a receipt :/. the atmosphere here, though, is peaceful as there were only a few people. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a casual place with OK pancakes. Generally, I was satisfied :)

I have nostalgia embedded into my opinions about The Fireplace, so my review may be a bit biased. My grandfather lived close by, so this was his go-to(other than the Ridgewood Country Club) when we were with him. I had fond memories from childhood of the delicious bacon cheeseburgers, the help yourself pickles station, and the warmness of this little local restaurant right off of 17. The last time I was at The Fireplace was when I could drink strawberry milkshakes and not gain any weight, so it’s been a while. When trying to find a place to grab lunch with my boyfriend and his brother, we wanted something quick, and decided that this was the best carb filled option prior to going to an evening wedding. I was nervous about bringing them to this place that had shaped so many childhood memories, because there’s always the fear that things aren’t as you remember them. Basically, The Fireplace hasn’t changed — it’s still simple food, with burgers(that are CHEAP), fries, sandwiches, grilled cheese(delicious!), and milkshakes. Nothing fancy at all, but solid and quick(boyfriend commented that it’s like fast food, but without being shitty fast food). You order at the counter and then wait for them to call their name before scoping out a table(or, if you’re a pro, you assign someone to go hawk a seat and then grab their food for them to ensure optimal seat position). There’s a pizza restaurant part of The Fireplace upstairs(you may see it when you walk in, depending on where you park), so this really has a little bit of everything. Insanely affordable, right off of 17, serves breakfast, and has solid/quick lunch options. Glad that my little spot from childhood is still so solid.

I used to come here as a kid and thought it was the most magical place. You could eat a burger made out of ostrich meat! Weird and cool. They’ve updated a few things since then, but still has a creepy(but cool) old ski lodge sort of vibe. The food is consistently good, the burgers are AWESOME. Fries could be better, but I suggest getting them Cajun. The free pickles are worth the trip alone. If you’ve got kids, this place is a must for a quick old timey burger.

My boyfriend took me here on a whim to show me what it was all about, as he grew up in the area. I have never had anything like it before. Really cleaver idea. I loved the pickle bar! I probably ate a million of those fresh pickles. The burgers were delicious and i loved their fries.

Based on my breakfast experience only. Fireplace is a hidden gem, even though its on a major highway :) I pass this place everyday on the way to work and on the way home and never thought to stop in. This morning I decided to give it a try for breakfast and I’m so happy I did. This place is old school and I love the vibe it has going. I made myself comfy at a table next to the fire place and was enjoying all the oldies tunes they had on. The food is so yummy. I got a taylor ham, egg and cheese on a croissant and holy cowwww… every bite was melting in my mouth. I think it may be one of the best breakfast sandwiches I ever had. The home fries were just as good, real potatoes wedges cooked well done. I accompanied my breakfast with a glass of OJ, which you could easily tell was freshly squeezed. The prices are really reasonable too. I’m super excited to try this place out for lunch.
