The service, ambience, and food was spectacular. If you’re looking for a nice brunch spot with a pretty mountain view you’ve come to the right place. I would definitely recommend the skiers brunch with had many items to choose from but smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, and French toast and berries were among my favorite. They offered us to-go coffees as well which was a nice touch. This is a nice place to celebrate a special occasion.

Not on par with the price. We had to send two dishes back due to being undercooked. The white wine also came out warm. Good service though

Truly a disappointment. This was my second time eating at Powder. My date and I had the smokey eggplant(overwhelmed with garlic), grain salad(underwhelming/tasteless) and the fried organic chicken(mushy coating, vague mix of competing flavors). The game in PC has moved on. Handle, and to some extent The Farm and Tupelo, are proving that new restaurants can win share from Bill White’s bland emporium with imagination, cunning and restraint.

Enjoyed the breakfast buffett @ $ 26 per person. Includes juice so not bad considering everything on the menu is $ 20 and juice is $ 6. The buffett was awesome — omelet station, salmon, pastries, bacon, eggs, etc. The hotel is gorgeous and it was a treat eating breakfast here.

Service: Ever been to a car lot with a salesman who wasn’t going to let you leave without buying? Well, that was Mike, our waiter. I think he was trying to set a personal record on turning tables the night we ate there(which was 2−18−16). Oh, and I wish I could see him again to let him know that today wasn’t really National Wine Day, as he told us it was in order to prime us to order more wine. I Googled it later-it’s May. If I had a bad product to sell, with little expectation of repeat orders from the customer, then Mike would be my guy! The manager was a very nice guy but that doesn’t help having a worthless and pushy waiter. Food: My wife LOVES fried chicken and she sent hers back. I tried it as well and it was super dry. I had the Utah trout and though it was also overcooked and under seasoned, I ate it as I didn’t feel like swinging by McDonalds. The sweetbreads I thought were very good though the wife didn’t. As for«The Egg» appetizer, have you ever had food that impressed you by how bland perfectly good food could be prepared? A boiled egg would have tasted more savory. The bread & butter were good though! Basically, the food was all bland and overcooked and very disappointing, and came out very quick. That speed by which it was delivered should have been our first clue. Lastly, I think they must have had a short delivery on wine this night as Mike dispensed his pour as if it were the last supper. Ambiance: The restaurant and bar are very nice though there is no view other than the pool area. We decided to go to Powder thinking it was in Deer Valley and would have nice views, however once I mapped it I found out it was in the Canyons. We decided to try it out as we’d not been there before. Next time we plan to spend that kind of $$ and want some higher end ambiance, it wont be at the Canyons. Bar: The bartender(sorry I forget his name) was amiable and made a decent Old Fashioned. No complaints.

Ambience is 5-starts. Staff politeness 4-stars. Service needed improvement. Cocktails were very bland. Started with«The Egg», which was creative and good. The little gem salad was also tasty. However the kale caesar dressing was way below average and the mushroom paparadelle was fair. The extra $ 20 we splurged for the black truffle shaving was not worth it. Because everything was so expensive, we thought it was poor value.

So expensive for such boring food and poor service. Truly disappointing. Waiter raved about the inventiveness of both the food and cocktail menus and everything we ordered tasted like a watered down version of something that might have been delicious with a more skilled chef/bartender at the helm. Atmosphere was nothing special and it was rather loud, despite not being crowded. Had to ask waiter several times for basic items. Pasta was good, but not for the price. Bar itself was pretty. Don’t waste your money on dinner, but if you’re dying to check it out have a glass of wine at the bar.

My mother and I rarely go to buffets, but we wanted to check out the Waldorf and booked a 1 pm reservation at Powder. We got there around 12:30(we took the free bus system) and were allowed to be seated immediately. Thank goodness we were seated immediately because all the breakfast food(the only real tasty part of the meal) was picked up at 1 pm, even though the menu said that brunch was from 10 am — 6 pm. No where on the menu did it say that the breakfast portion would be picked up at 1 pm. I was a little disappointed the salads were not mixed up in a bowl, you just select the greens you wanted then dumped whichever salad dressing you wanted to go with your greens. Mom enjoyed the oysters(I passed because I am not that into Seafood) and the shrimp ok. Both soups looked like they were made in a Vitamix. The Pork Loin and Turkey were quite dry but the Roast was good but cold. I did enjoy the cookies and snacked on quite a few. The service was not that great. I was helped by Alex all day and he was very nice — my only complaint is that our silverware wasn’t really refreshed until dessert. Then something weird happened. A new waiter Mike appeared and Alex told us Mike was going to take care of us(ok that’s fine Alex is going on break…) but the thing is for the next 30 minutes, Alex never left. He just waited on other tables. I even went to the bathroom and half a half eaten cookie on my plate and Mike took it without asking my mom if i was done with it. Which then made me HAVE to go pick up another cookie. Then once we started dessert we felt like we were being pushed out by our new waiter Mike. At $ 69 per head and $ 11 per cocktail I thought that I could stay as long as I was still eating and there were still tables open. I didn’t want to rush scarfing down all my food because it was Christmas. The best parts of the meal: Eggs Benedict, Candied Yams, Hummus, and cookies.

Let me preface this review by noting that I rarely write a bad review. If it isn’t positive, I typically just assume the business had a bad day/night and keep my comments to myself. There were just too many negatives at Powder, the worst being the dirty bathrooms. When we entered for an early dinner, my children and I were lugging around large winter jackets. I assumed a hostess would offer to put them in the coat closet at the entrance– Nope. Then, we were shown to our table where I was presented(via a wrist wave) with my own chair that I could pull out for myself. We were handed our menus and then told our drink menu was on the table in front of us(I.e. I could present that to myself.) I was speechless during dinner when our waiter poured our wine and then used his dirty, bare hand to wipe off the opening of the bottle. One of our wine glasses smelled like the Catch of the Day from the Great Salt Lake. And we had ordered a nice bottle of Duckhorn Merlot which was ruined by the cloudy, smelly glass. My husband and I both visited the bathroom and noted the ladies room was almost out of toilet tissue and both bathrooms were almost out of hand towels. And both of their teeny tiny wastebaskets were overflowing onto the floor. If the restaurant bathroom is dirty at 6 pm, what will it look like at 8−9pm when they get busy? Well, let me tell you… My husband took pictures of the men’s bathroom because the trash had spread even further all over the floor and there were no towels to dry your hands off with.

Very disappointing. You’d think the Waldorf would be a premier option for Christmas Eve dinner. Not so. Powder seems like an after ski bar that tried to milk the Christmas Eve demand and failed miserably. Staff had no clue how to handle a dinner party, not asking for a drink order and appearing put out when a wine menu was asked for. Fixed menu was fine, but food quality was of the mass feeding sort. Steaks were recommended at medium rare but arrived no more than blue. Daughter actually mentioned that she’d never seen a purple steak before. Portion sizes for the adult fixed menu were smaller than the kids menu. In fact, 10 year old daughter won the evening with the best order, roasted chicken from the kids menu. Overall, a terrible experience for Christmas Eve and a colossal waste of money. Would not eat here again.

I would recommend eating here even if you aren’t a guest at the Waldorf. Amazing service(shout outs to Patrick, Kenny, John & more!) and delish food. I’ve already tried three stellar b-fast dishes: the mountain breakfast(standard eggs+meat+toast) chilaquiles(if you want a kick– spicy eggs+tortillas+beans) and the spinach and avocado eggs Benedict. We also had lunch here(!!) so I can also recommend the tortilla soup and Wagyu beef burger. Bottomless coffee and sides of sriracha make this an easy 5 star experience.

Superlative experience. Patrick, John and Kenny took excellent care of us during our week-long stay. Quality of cuisine was terrific, especially the ‘mountain breakfast’ consisting of eggs, starch, meat and grains. Oatmeal was another unexpected standout with mixed berries and pistachios. Lavazza Blue coffee was fresh and plentiful, with every condiment request being promptly fulfilled. Highly recommended!

I went to Powder three times during my business trip and there was a reason for my visit. The Waldorf Astoria is a high end establishment, but the personnel do not rest on the name alone to provide customer service. The bartender(and I wish I got her name) was pleasant and attended to me with consistent high end customer service. I had the fortune to becoming acquainted with the F&B supervisor, Shivan. Not only was he personable and easy to talk to, he ensured I was being attended to with my food and drinks. That personal service alone may not seem remarkable, but he did this even when the establishment was busy. I observed him provide the same high level of customer service to other patrons. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I recognized that he has the skills and personality to do well in the industry, and Hilton should be grateful to have such a attentive individual on their payroll.

From the moment you walk into Powder they are treating you like you are the only one at the place. Staff was friendly and made sure to answer any questions we had. We are off of the PrixFixe menu and the price was reasonable and food was delicious. My wife ordered the pork and absolutely loved it along with the fresh Utah Peaches! I had the Cod and it was amazing great taste and just as you would hope fish to be prepared. Desert was house made cheese cake and was delicious. Chef knew it was our anniversary and brought out fresh strawberries and on site grown honey comb both were amazing. Just more proof the staff goes above and beyond.

Skip it. The service is beyond slow. Don’t expect to get anything good after 10 pm. It’s at the Waldorf and you think the food would be high-end. They charge high-end, but totally missed the mark. One of the people got sick from the dinner later that night. From reading reviews, I guess this is common there? What is going on? Trust me, just get in the car(run!) and drive the 3 miles away from this place and you will have plenty of choices and great food to enjoy.

For a hotel as amazing as the Waldorf-Astoria, you’d expect an equally excellent restaurant. However, Powder will disappoint you. Cocktails are very tasty, but, the food was not fresh tasting, the menu offerings were very limited to mostly overly salted amd fried food and red meat, despite branding itself as «a healthy choice», the orders were made wrong twice(once for breakfast and once for lunch), something you wouldn’t expect when the service is perfect in the hotel. Waldorf-Astoria would be smart to start all over again with the place and create am entirely new menu(maybe one to go with the fresh and healthy theme the spa projects). Stay away unless there is no other choice or you just want some yummy late night cocktails or deserts.

Since we were guests of the hotel, we decided to have dinner here one night rather than venture into Park City. I was expecting a meal and experience equally as nice as the hotel but was disappointed. We walked in about an hour before close and the host seemed not so thrilled to see another party coming in. We were seated on the patio toward the front on the patio. Service started out great but dropped off. It took about 20 minutes after menus were delivered for the server to return to take our order. In the meantime a table that arrived some minutes after us received their appetizers. Once ordered, our apps came out pretty quickly. I had the Utah creamed corn which tasted fresh, creamy, crunchy and excellently seasoned. Entrees took at least another 30 minutes to arrive. We were also then asked if we wanted bread to start our meal(uh, that would have been great 45 minutes ago). The bread was great but wish we had it at the start of the meal when other diners apparently did. I had the shirt ribs and some sort of polenta. Overall it was just okay. I wondered if the reason it took so long was because it was near closing time. We had the beignets for dessert. They didn’t knock my socks off. To top it off, we both woke up feeling«not good» in the morning. Service was very friendly, just slow. I don’t think I would return here.

First off, the service at Powder and the Waldorf Astoria is beyond excellent. They had prepared us breakfast for our group events as well as a slider sampler dinner and we also pow wowed there for drinks. The bar area looks modern with clean lines. There are four taps for draft beers carrying mostly local brews, like Uinta and Squatters. Other beers are offered poured from the bottle. The bar keep makes mean old fashioned with local High West Whiskey. National big name liquors are all available, but if you’re visiting from out of state, don’t be afraid to give High West a try. There is a TV in the bar area of the restaurant. They also have private dining rooms in the back if you have a special occasion or business dinner where you need to seal the deal. For breakfast they catered us with buttery croissants and fruit pastries, fresh fruits, eggs, sausage, and applewood smoked bacon. Did Powder get the pick of the best bacon? We must have been lucky because the bacon had almost zero fat. For the group happy hour dinner, we had ahi poke sliders, beef sliders, chicken, and also lamb. My favorite was the lamb slider. Tons of crispy onion rings and veggie chips on the side. Our server didn’t stop walking for 2 hours, bringing us drink after drink after drink and was a pleasure to deal with. I did not have the standard menu or the prix fixe menu so I can’t comment on those creative dishes. Items looked fairly priced for a fine dining establishment. If you eat on the patio you get to over look the mountains in the back along with the Waldorf’s beautiful pool and courtyard. Really relaxing. If you eat inside, you can still see it all, but of course outside is more fun, weather permitting. What really made the service next level? Late at night I was making drinks in my room for everyone(party in my suite!) and ran out of pineapple juice for our pineapple and vodka drinks. One of our girls went up and asked the bartender if we could buy some pineapple juice. The bartender gave us a whole carton of pineapple juice gratis. I’m sure she knew we were a big party in the hotel for a few days, but still, that was very cool of her.

Came here for a belated birthday dinner with couple girlfriends. The décor was fitting for Utah I suppose? There were several antlers displayed on wall. We sat at the bar first since we arrived a little early for our dinner reservation. The bartender was fabulous. He was nice and didn’t talk too much. Then we sat over by the window for a view of the courtyard where people were enjoying the hot tub and can see the pool/poolside. When we were finally seated(past our reservation time and had to ask the hostess to be seated), the waiter was young and attentive. We started with truffle fries and butcher block, both met our savory needs. I liked the boar meat and tiny pickles. My roast chicken was moist and went well with the kale salad. My friend ordered the pork chop-medium done; however, came out more more well done. It was good nonetheless since the edges were a bit crispy. My other friend had the seafood mac and cheese. It looked more like an appetizer, but enjoyable. It was a good portion of seafood. We finished it off with a lava chocolate cake and raspberry cheese cake. The lava cake was soooooooo good, totally melted in our mouths, soft on the inside and slightly caramelized on the outside. It wwnt nicely with the raspberries, blackberries and vanilla ice cream. The raspberry cheesecake was ok.
