Worst service I have seen. We waited for more than an hour for breakfast and the waitress was totally helpless

Good food, overpriced, but 7⁄10 overall. Bar food like pizza, fries, burgers, ect are sold there and plan on spending $ 15 per person. There are better places in town, so don’t go out of your way to eat there.

We came here and asked the hostess for a seat in the shade. She informed us we could look around and see if there was anything. Um, thanks. There wasn’t, so we left. And that was the extent of our conversation with her. 189⁄365

This is the restaurant in the Red Pine Lodge right at the top of the gondola ride from the Canyons Resort. I visited in the summer, so it was warm & green. We hiked up on the Holly’s Trail starting at the Canyons, which meets up with the Mid Mountain Trail & takes you all the way to the lodge. It’s about a 4 mile hike, so once you get there you’re pretty hungry! That’s where the café comes in handy. Better than your average lodge restaurant, the Red Pine Café has pretty good food. There’s salads, burgers, cheesesteaks, sloppy joes, & other sandwiches, & even tacos, all ranging from $ 12 – 15. They make fries & chips in house too, though I wasn’t impressed with the fries. I ordered the veggie burger which is homemade with a patty consisting on quinoa, lentils, & other veggies. It was super delicious & hearty, highly recommended even if you do eat meat. Make sure to add some sharp cheddar! All of their drinks are really pricey($ 4 for a coconut water), but they do have a lot of options. They have some weak beers in a cooler that an employee has to serve you, those are likely very expensive as well. Some snacks are available, like homemade granola bars, brownies, & cookies, as well as plenty of chips & packaged bars(clif bars, other granola bars). So much to choose from, you’ll definitely enjoy a lunch up here!

It’s a very convenient location, which makes it even more surprising that they don’t serve normal beer and any liquor. It’s all 3/2, which is just stupid, really. It was great for me because I don’t like to go on the super hard runs, and all the runs around this lodge were easier and fun, so I could go out for a couple of runs and stop back in for a drink. Unfortunately, the beers are pricey even though they’re 3⁄2.

We had lunch here the summer of 2011 and it was amazing food was great and the venue was wonderful. We had lunch July 2012, and we’re very disappointed to find they no longer served lunch outside on the mountain and it was just a typical ski area cafeteria. What was a special venue is now just a cafeteria which is not worth the trip in the summer.

Standard mountain top food. Pizza and veggie chilli were good. Hot chocolate was hot and creamy. The warm food hit the spot after a morning of carving the groomed runs. Bathrooms were clean but it’s kinda annoying walking downstairs in ski boots. Plenty of seating A bit pricey, although I expected that since it is the only café at 8000 ft!
