I dread coming to eat here in the café. Staff is always so rude and move slow. Working in the food industry I can’t stand watching the way they work. 20 min for a burger? Food sucks and is expensive, especially for the sad portion they give you. Pretty much trapped because the vending machines don’t offer much and it’s inconvenient to drive to old town for food.

I’m not always hungry but when I am I’m sure to hit up the one and only Art Center Café. I don’t dilly dally with the mediocrity that exists in the vending machines hidden amongst the dark corners of the campus. I make sure to warm my soul in the amply lit café sporting a scenic view of grass, trees, and a smoking area. The scenery is aight, but the real tooth fruity is the what Sodexo likes to call the«crispy chicken sandwich». My god it’s dank. You about it? I’m about it and so should you, your mom, and your mom’s friends. Desmond just gets his fry right every time. Yeah, sure frying a frozen chicken patty really ain’t that hard, but it certainly ain’t easy either. It’s all about the decisive moment, the instant where both crispness and moistness reach their maximization and stabilize. Trying the damn sandwich, it’s good.

I’ve gotten food poisoning from the freaking rice. Yes. FREAKINGRICE!!! It was year ago but it was so traumatizing. Every time I go to the cafeteria I have to fear the food.

Stupidly small portions, unfriendly staff, aggressive approach to cost reduction via quality of food and preparation, food poisoning on two occasions, and extremely high prices for very basic staples of a human diet. In all seriousness, what justifies $ 3.50 for a fistful of sub-par scrambled eggs?

First off, it is a total monopoly. The school is so far away from any kind of restaurant or food establishment, the students have no choice but to eat at this café to endure their 5 hour studios. Of course the café knows that, so what do they do? That’s right. Make it more expensive. They charge 6.50 for 3 tiny scoops of food and tell you that’s the serving portion. With that money I could get a full set of burger and fries at In n’ out but the break is usually one hour between a morning studio and night studio. There is no way you can drive down Chevy Chase and come back to school in time. And don’t even get me started with the parking. Some of the ladies there are nice but nice don’t mean«I give you more food». I once got into an argument with one because she didn’t know her prices. The one star is for the breakfast burrito/plate. It is quite decent. If I remember correctly the breakfast plate is 4.25. It’s supposed to come with egg, bacon, potato, AND toast. But they usually are too lazy to give you toast. You have to ask for it. It’s included in the price. All the meat and vegetable used are supposed to be organic. I really don’t give a rat’s ass about it. But to sum it up, you suck out 18k from us every term damn Art Center and we pay too much for food. It’s so damn expensive and so little. Stop giving us bird feed and give us real food!

For a school cafeteria this place has it all. Amazing food, always changing menus. They have an awesome salad bar and drink selections. Great staff. Clean location. The chef rules!
