Wow! What a beautiful space and an even more beautiful location. My family and I left so inspired! This review is both for the gallery and the school building. Craig Elwood designed a stunning price of art with this space. We visited the exhibit for Robert Langs FOLDED exhibit and his work was beautifully displayed. Just outside of this exhibit was the work of the students. Showcased was everything from packaging to furniture design. There is a new exhibit each term and I can’t wait to check out the next one!

As a student, this is a great resource for inspiration. I enjoyed contemplating work in this setting. I used it to exchange ideas with friends and socialize during Grad Night. Sometimes this is used for storage or trans-disciplinary studio projects but this is a museum quality space that exhibits artists and designers. You’re generally allowed to photograph inside.

Williamson Gallery is located at Art Center College of Design(Hillside Campus). This gallery is one of those hidden gem in So Cali. This is not your ordinary art college gallery. Williamson Gallery is a space that have held some of the most interesting exhibitions; paintings, illustrations, typography, graphic designs, photography, performance art, etc. If you have never been up here to Art Center College of Design, you are definitely missing out. Besides the gallery itself, the architecture and the environmental design of the college is inspiring and just pure bliss to look at and walk in. So the next time you’re in the mood for a gallery or museum outing while considering driving to one of your usual spots like the Getty or Bergamot Station… check out this tiny humble little Gallery at Art Center. Chances are, you might just run into a refreshing and inspiring exhibit! Please do not confuse my comparison with the Getty and Bergamont Station with Williamson’s gallery size. On the contrary, Williamson Gallery is a very small space. My intention was to promote breaking the usual habit of your usual gallery visits and give this one a try, that’s all. The similarities is in the art itself, which is always a joy to experience. Please note, the Hillside campus is located within a residential area above the Rose Bowl. So if this is you’re very first time driving there, make sure to google Art Center so you don’t get lost. And it is absolutely normal for you to be driving in a residential area for 10 to 15 minutes before you hit Lida Street. It is totally worth it guys. Think of it as a mini day trip! Admission is FREE. It is a gallery after all. Cheers!
