I am not impressed with this food. I gave it a second and third chance because the location is convenient, but I am always disappointed. If you are looking for delicious Indian food this is not the place.

I am living very close to this restaurant. This is my favorite restaurant in Pasadena. Lunch buffet is very good. I come to here for lunch twice or three times per week.

Great food, service was kind of a slow on a weeknight. Ordered roti and naan as an appetizer but they came out with our main dishes? that was a little disappointing because we were starving that night. But overall a nice restaurant

Nice décor. Good/friendly service. Ok food. But EXTREMELY small portion. I don’t know if using groupon resulted in the small portion. How small? I went with my mom. We both eat light. Every time we went to a restaurant and ordered 2 entrees, we ended up taking ¼ home. This time, we ordered 1 garlic naan, 1 rice, 1 chicken masala, 1 fish kabob. We finished them all, and didn’t feel stuffed!

Best food drunk experience! You will leave happier than when you came in. Lol. My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday evening after a quick workout. After many months craving bomb Indian food Bollywood Masala definitely HIT the spot. It is a quiet and intimate place to go on a date or with a small group of friends. We ordered the Masala Special for two. This special offers a little bit of everything. I strongly recommend it if you are having a hard time deciding what to eat like we did. From the moment you sit down you are taken care of. The staff makes sure you have water ready and offers you a free sampler while you decide what to eat. Everything on the menu sounds amazing! To my surprise it was my first time not seeing any pictures on the menu, especially at an Indian restaurant. We sat next to the bar right under the TV. They truly play Bollywood music videos in the background while you eat. Pretty cool. What I appreciated the most aside from the delicious food and service was them willing to put the Copa America: Mexico vs. Uruguay game for me when I asked. Props for that. As we took our time enjoying every single bite the staff was patient and gave us our space. Very friendly. Free 15% Off Unilocal Check in!

Decent prices for an indian buffet close to home? I’m in! PARKING: Street or shared lot in the back. SERVICE: There’s a lot of room for improvement here. We were the first party in the restaurant for lunch, and the waiter was a bit laggy as if we inconvenienced him to be there. I mean, there’s not much service to a buffet aside from clearing plates and delivering drinks and naan. Service was sluggish. FOOD: –Garlic Naan: I love that naan is on the thinner side — great for dipping and not too filling! There was significant garlic flavor. –Lamb: This was one of my favorites! To be honest, I never order lamb at indian restaurants. This lamb was not gamey at all and had a wonderfully light flavor without any gameyness. –Tikka Masala: Most of the meat was dark meat– just the way I like it! Great sauce for dipping. –Tandoori chicken: Super moist chicken — this is right up Alek’s alley as it’s lightly flavored. Overall, I’d be back for food alone — not service!

Never ever go to Bollywood masala. Why? 1.we booked the banquet for 50 people, when we reach on day of our event owner said he gave it to some one els(later we found out that he was one of his best friend). Think about you paid deposit, confirm menu, and you go with your family and friend and you found out that he gave it to some one els. 2. Instead solving problem, he said he don’t care about customer(why? He has 45 gas station and two 7⁄11 store. So ofcourse he is reach so he doesn’t need money) but no respect to customer and instead he was talking like he has enough money so go to hell. 3. So even though we decide to have food in his regular sitting area. Appetizers was ready but not main corse. We waited 1 hour for main corse after eating appetizer. I would highly recommend not to chose this restaurant. If you do so, please make sure ur banquet is confirmed and have proof. Wait a minute, even you have confirmation, he can say go to somewhere els. He doesn’t need money. Don’t go Don’t go Don’t go Food sucks

Visited 4÷24÷16 After exercising, we were starving and decided to use one of my coupons that I’ve purchased either through Groupon or Living Social. Came here on a Sunday and it was buffet time, but my coupon wasn’t for a buffet. We ordered off the menu. We were ready to place our order for quite some time, and it took the waiter way to long to get back to us in order for us to place our order. No, they weren’t busy. He FINALLY came to take our order and it took a little of a wait to get our food. Obviously it seems that service is better if you get the buffet. We finally get our food. The veggie okra dish was appetizing to look at and tasted just as good as it looked. The naan tasted great. The curry dish looked gross, but thank goodness it tasted much better than it looked. We were full with those two dishes. When we walked out, we took a peek at the buffet, and it looked good enough that we knew we wanted to come back to try it. There’s plenty of street parking, but much better to park behind the restaurant where there’s several free spaces just for Bollywood customers. There’s also metered parking behind the Pasadena Playhouse. Short walk. The interior of the restaurant is nice. The tables are kind of close together though. There’s a banquet room for a small reception. Looking forward to trying that buffet!

I had made reservations online but really needn’t to as they weren’t busy. After ordering, it took a while for us to get our food(40 minutes) after they served appetizers. After all that wait, the food wasn’t anything special; although as good as I’ve tasted elsewhere. We had plans to watch a movie and I allowed 90 minutes for dinner. Everything took so long that we ended missing our movie. A couple of people who sat next to us must’ve had the same experience because not long after their food arrived(we had only got there when this happened) they asked for their check saying they really needed to leave for a show. All in all, long wait from start to finish for average Indian food.

Great Food! I like the variety of dishes! Got chicken, Lamb and nice flavorful veggies! Lunch buffet was proper and with convenient parking in Pasadena unlike some LA locations that takes the fun out of your lunch hour!!! Cheers!

The lunch buffet is amazing and only $ 9.95. There’s a huge selection of food choices with the buffet and a ton of vegetarian options, but also several meat choices too. The food has so many amazing flavors going on. My favorite Indian restaurant in Pasadena. Two thumbs up. I’m definitely going back again.

Amazing Indian buffet, my new favorite in Los Angeles. So many dishes, and each one is quality. Everything is good! Great variety. They even have a healthy option of grilled vegetables. Love this place and highly recommend. Some highlights: –Their great garlic naan — textured and great for dipping with curry –Tandoori Chicken — perfect –Lamb Shank Curry –Chicken Curry –Chiken Tikki Masala Very inexpensive, what’s not to like?

My husband ordered take out for this place, and we got it to go. It was not bad but wasn’t mind-blowing either. The portions were very small for the price. It was my first time trying butter chicken and my husband also ordered another dish(forgot its name) that I thought wasn’t bad. We weren’t full after dinner but we had paid a lot of money($ 35) for two dishes. I thought the value just wasn’t there.

Bollywood Masala! The name itself picked my interest. So made reservations for myself n my bf. Parking is behind the restaurant along with the back entrance. Once inside, you notice a nice modern decorated dining area with a small bar area. We were seated by very courteous and friendly staff. We tried the: Masala Dinner Special for Two which included Choice of Soup Tandoori Chicken Chicken Curry Lamb Tikki Masala Veggie side with cauliflower & potatoes Basmati rice Naan, plain & garlic Rice pudding ALLFOR29BUCKS ‼ medium factor Drinks are seperate I had a red wine My bf tried Kingfisher Premium Lager Beer, popular in India, I’m now in love with this beer, doesnt have that bitter bleh taste that other beers have Everything came out accordingly, the soups both fresh and hot and flavorful! I had the tomatoe soup, bf had Mullingatawny creamy soup Once we finished our soups, our Naan amd main dishes came out already seperateed on those gigantic metal platters, that you’d see in a mess hall The food was so tender and juicy, definitely surprised the hell outta us! Soooooo Unlike the buffet style we were accustomed to at other Indian restaurants! My bf said the lamb was a little dry, but he cleaned his plate dry, slopping everything up with the naan Tables are nicely sized, but so close to other tables, I was able to hear the conversations loud & clearly. One table talking about their medical ailments Another table talking about musicals and having her first alcoholic drink with her mom. at 7 !!! Again the staff was amazing, attentive at the right times Hope they’re like this on my next visit I give 4 yummy stars and a rainbow

Came here with a large group(11) for lunch yesterday and it was perfect! It wasn’t so crowded where the buffet line got jammed but there were still a fair amount of other parties there. My favorites were the chicken tikka masala and the fish pakora. I probably had 3 portions of each haha. All the chutneys and naan were great also! The rice pudding and little dessert balls were a big hit with others in the group but sweets aren’t my thing(I know I know… what’s wrong me? lol). The lunch buffet was $ 13 and came with drinks(soda, water, or champagne!). It was 100% worth it and the service was fantastic too! The naan and drinks were constantly flowing. They even let me take the leftover naan(yes, I am shameless) at the end haha! Can’t wait to stop by here again next time I get my Indian food itch and I want to get in a food coma :)

I had to travel to India to fall in love n love with Indian food, but I could have just as easily traveled to Pasadena as they have all the items I need… I spotted the old monk rum and had to have a drink as I have traveled the world, and this is my favorite! My wife had a Scooby snack and she also enjoyed the cool tropical concoction. We ordered the dal makhani with Garli naan and the biryani chicken. Both were very tasty and of sufficient portion. The dal was filled with vegetables and was complimented well by the naan. The biryani was a bit salty, but was heavily seasoned with all the wonderful spices. clove, bay, garlic, etc. we ordered it medium and it was just the right amount of heat. I cooked my palate with a cool Kingfisher beer and my meal was a flashback to my days in Hyderbad and Delhi. Old monk and Kingfisher availability make this my new Indian favorite in the area… FYI15% off for checking in on Unilocal!!! This joint makes the list, so check it out!!!

We came here for my boyfriend’s pre-birthday meal. I was ecstatic that he wanted Indian. It’s my favorite cuisine and I was eager to try out the new Bollywood Masala. We arrived right at 5:00 for dinner. The dining area is small, but we were the only ones there. We both ordered the veg thali combination plate. It came with veggie masala, sag paneer, dal, basmati rice, and rice pudding. The boyfriend also ordered shrimp masala. In addition to the combination plate, we were served a basket of papadum and crackers with a side of hot chili paste and chutney(mint and tamarind). Our samosas didn’t come with any additional sauce, but we improvised and dipped them in the saucy curry. The masala sauce was so flavorful that I had no intention of letting a drop of it go to waste. Garlic naan was included as well and it served as a proper vessel for sopping up that yummy goodness. I appreciate any place that takes me seriously when I tell them to make it spicy. Specifically, I said, «Extra spicy; make it hurt.» Our server cracked a smile, but my deadpan stare was to let him know I meant it. Hearing a sneeze come from the kitchen normally makes me cringe, but that night I looked at my boyfriend and said, «Heh, sounds spicy!» Credit the cooks because they really socked it to me. Looking forward to a future lunch buffet visit.

$ 10AYCE lunch buffet? Sign me up! I still can’t believe how cheap this place is with all that you get. You definitely get fantastic value for your money if you can make it over here during that time. The food is awesome! They start you off with your choice of complimentary naan or garlic naan which comes out nice and hot. The buffet itself has an assortment of pretty much everything you need including: veggie korma, chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, saag paneer, lamb shank, etc, etc. Everything here tastes freshly made and delicious as well. The ambiance is nice and calm with, as the name implies, Bollywood videos constantly playing softly on their tv. The staff here very polite and yet attentive, constantly walking around checking if you need more water or naan. The amazing service is very much appreciated in my book. Overall I’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area for lunch. Cheers! P. S. If you enter through the back alley you can find their own free parking lot which usually has plenty of open spots(Highly valued for this area as the very popular Urth café is nearby.) P. P. S. At the time of this review they offer 10% off your bill with Unilocal check-in.

Really nice Indian food place in Pasadena. It is a small restaurant, with free parking in the back of the building(separate small lot, not the metered ones). They have a free bread and shrimp chips thing in the beginning– with 3 different dipping sauces. Not amazing, but a unique«bread» that I still appreciated. I got the Masala Special(includes soup, meal, rice pudding dessert, and naan bread) in one large plate for $ 16($ 29 for two). The portion sizes were fair and the flavor was good. I found«mild» a little spicy, but generally have found Indian and Thai spicy levels to be a bit higher. Overall the food seemed solid 4 stars quality and price, but would give them a little higher if I could(like 4.5) for the great service.

Came her for brunch and was pretty disappointed. Seems like my friends and I were the first ones here. I had suggested this place after seeing all the positive Unilocal reviews. I guess I’m in the minority but I really wasn’t a fan. The first issue I have is with the owner or maybe manager on duty during yesterday’s Sunday Champagne Brunch. He was talking down to them in English, then when he noticed me listening, he started speaking to them in another language. He was super polite to me and my friends but just awful to his staff. The staff were so super polite, but seemed nervous and scared. The second issue I have, is with lid/covers over the food on the buffet. every time I opened one, I would get burned by the scolding steam. this must be changed! Lastly, I know of better Indian restaurants elsewhere. I really wish I didn’t have to drive all the way to Diamond Bar to enjoy good Indian food but looks like I’m going to have to. Sad day.
