Chicken Mole… You will not find any BETTER!!! I drive just to try Mole, this is in my top two. I’ll never say the best, because I might find it tomorrow.

Old school restaurant since 1974. The last day of business will be 30DEC2015 when this restaurant will close forever, the SoPas location will still be in operation. We ordered the 3 item combo which came with rice and beans, we shared this plate since we were not starving. The food was very good and flavorful but it needed more hot spicy chili the way I usually like my Mexican food. To celebrate their decades in being in business I ordered a classic margarita on the rocks, the perfect drink to celebrate with on these last remaining days.

Horrible experience. I walked in and the staff seemed confused and didn’t know how to help me. I walked into the bar area and the waitress asked me if I wanted something to drink and I said a soda and she gave me a weird look. I waited about 15 minutes and the soda never came. I asked for utensils and never got any. I asked. I asked for chips and the same waitress came walked right by me and Offered more chips to the people sitting next to me. I finally got fed up and walked out. I haven’t experienced this kind of horrible customer service ever. I would give them no stars if I could

Sorry to report that this location will be closing at the end of the year. I have been coming here for years. Great old school Mexican food with friendly service, A bit more $$ than your average rice and beans joint but the quality is there. The South Pasadena location has the same great food but the dining room is tiny and it is often packed.

2.5 stars… This place was one of our favorites about 10 years ago, so we thought we would pick up where we left off when moving back to the area. We of course started out with the margaritas, and both were potent. I ordered the regular grande and my wife the strawberry regular. Both were good! I ordered the carnitas and was disappointed as they were severely overdone and half were inedible. The beans, rice, and guac were all great. The server adjusted my bill to compensate for the problem upon notification. My wife ordered the namesake enchilada and enjoyed it. Her only complaint was that the salsa served with complimentary chips lacked flavor other than heat. Ambiance is dark barrio cervezaria, and prices were above expectations considering food quality. This joint has been on the list for 10 years in our absence, but another trip like this and we will be looking for a replacement.

As a margarita enthusiasts, their large margarita is exceptional! Food wasn’t bad either. Can improve on their service but I wasn’t there for the service– I was there for a great margarita! .and they delivered! 4 only for their ‘ritas!

I tried this place the other day and ordered a burrito that has 3 different kinds of meat in it. The burrito is so big that you can eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner or you can split it with someone. It’s a good spot and you can usually find parking right in front of the place. The customer service is great and they bring out the food as quickly as possible.

Review for 9÷4÷15 visit. BAR2STARS: Started in the bar. Drinks seemed kind of high($ 9.25 for 2 bottles of beer). They had free enchiladas which was nice, but kind of unusual. Didn’t want to fill up since we were there for dinner, but how could I not give it a try. First time having an enchilada filled with rice and fillers. Friends joined us and odered the jalapeño margarita, no salt. Jalapeño was just sliced, not muddled, so not too much flavor. Margarita came with salt, mostly ice and cost $ 10. WOW… Since we were there for dinner, we got seated, party of 4. FOOD3.5STARS: Starter was carne asada nachos. Big portion, tender beef, cheesy and yummy. I had the carnitas, double rice, no beans. Good portion, crispy on the edges, tender, some pieces a bit dry, but definitely something I would order again. Friends ordered red snapper(looked good), chicken Delicioso burrito(gigantic, chicken was ok, star was the chorizo rice) and combo plate(taco, tamale and chile rellano — did not like the chile rellano). SERVICE5STARS: Our server was extremely nice, checked on us regularly, brought us some of the hot/spicy red salsa and refilled our drinks several times. Wish I got her name so I could let you know.

The food was good, and prompt. Salsa and chips were also pretty good. Enchiladas were good. The only thing that threw me off was I order an asada burrito with rice and beans and pico de Gallo and guacamole, but the plate was served with a all meat asada burrito with the rice and beans and guacamole on the outside. Which was weird for me but maybe a plus for someone else

I don’t know why we keep coming, maybe because someone else pays and I don’t. This is definitely the last time I go. The food is awful and the service is okay. This isn’t real authentic Mexican food.

La Fiesta Grande has been our go to place since we discovered it 4 years ago. The margaritas are great, the menu selection is wonderful, amd the servers are friendly. It has a homey feeling and my friends and I love it! We highly recommend. It. Goddess, Sharon and Saeida

The food is seriously good. I get the chicken burrito every time. There is a touch of chorizo in it which is awesome, not too much though, just enough to get your fix. The waiters are always really nice and bring a cup of salsa and basket of chips for each person at our table so we don;t have to share or be ashamed of double-dipping. I look forward to going here every payday because that is the only time I can afford it. It is not unreasonably priced, I am just quite poor, but eating this burrito makes me forget the mediocrity of my mundane existence for a few moments every two weeks.

**1.5 stars because it had decent coffee** We were driving down Colorado and happen to see this place and decided to try it out. I was kind of in the mood for some Mexican breakfast. I ordered the machaca with eggs and an ice tea. The beans were the best thing on the plate. This is not a compliment at all. The beans were taste less and most likely came from a can, the rice was unbearable. Consistency was off and the flavor was bad. The«shredded» beef was not so shredded and with all the veggies is was mixed with you would think it had tons of flavor. In fact it was the opposite. The beef tasted as if it had been frozen or was days old before cooking, very off putting. I would not come back here. To top it all off this place is not cheap our bill was over $ 40 with tip. A previous statement said it was comparable to «Taco Bell» … I would prefer Taco Bell over this place.

This is the type of Mexican place that would be excellent if you were really hungover and needed fattening and salty food ASAP. Other than that, the food is not authentic at all, I think Del Taco taste better. The food is laden with sodium, so no matter what you order, prepare to walk out bloated and in need of unbuttoning your pants. They have an all you can eat taco special, which is a good price $ 12, but go in there famished and don’t plan on being able to function for the rest of the day… can I say food coma!

This is NOT mexican food. The food is comparable to Taco Bell. The beans tasted dry and were nothing special even slathered with cheese, the salsa was watery, I didn’t get a straw with my water(?), the chips were stale, and my Chile Relleno tasted like a flour tortilla that suffocated a bellpepper then stuffed it with Monterey jack cheese… :/ By the way, why is it so hot in this restaurant? I had to ask the waitress about the air twice and she said«someone must have turned it off». Hmmm. Anyhow, where was the fluffy, juicy, cheesy, battered Poblano Chile Pepper that I so longed for? Where was the spicy salsa and the hot freshly made chips? Not here. So I will not be back.

2014 Unilocal365CHALLENGE — 216⁄365 Stopped by with friends after work to grab dinner, we had a $ 25 off $ 50 coupon! With that said, for 3 people, our bill was STILL $ 60. Their margaritas are $ 8, the taquito appetizer with just 3 taquitos was $ 9, and their plates are between $ 14 – 17!!! Pretty surprised. The quality was much better than an El Torito, but not as good as El Cholo in my opinion. Very nice customer service, and I like the parking lot in the back, but prices were through the roof for a «hole in the wall» mexican joint. All you can eat Taco Bar looks good though. And they have a cool bar in the back.

The wait staff is terrible here. Our waiter, Jaime, was rude and ignored us. The only person who gave a crap was the bus boy. The food is half decent but who cares when the service blows.

Inside this place is very dark. Didn’t see any Lunch Specials. The item that I ordered, Combo Plate: Beef Enchilada, Chili Relleno. The Chili Relleno was not good, inside is still cold. The chili was from a can, not fresh & roasted like traditionally some. Beef Enchilada was ok. Rice was bland, beans were ok. Drinks were served in a 8 oz glass. I had a coke. They refilled the Drinks. The music was pretty loud. Didn’t see the server around, they were all in the back. Overall… I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time !!! The salsa is addicting and the food is always great. When I go, I get the chicken enchilada one-item combo with rice and beans and then smother the food with the salsa. I usually end up choking on the salsa and chips because I try to consume too much at one time(True story). The margaritas are also very tasty when your in the mood for a adult beverage. I personally recommend the peach blended margarita when I’m in the mood. Always a good time at La Fiesta! Tell them I sent you.

Fabulous chicken mole and mole enchiladas. Carne asada, no bueno.
