I know this place is now closed, but I’m going to leave my review here anyways. This is completely heartbreaking. Some of my fondest memories of drunken debauchery led me here w/an order of piping hot pizza. It was conveniently located by our favorite bars, the employees were always so nice, and if we had a rough night… we could always depend on Brothers to make everything all better. Imagine if Ted Mosby discovered MacLaren’s Bar was shut down forever or if Friends found Central Perk closed… that’s exactly how I feel right now(okay, this is kind of a stretch, but you get the point.) Sorry to see you go, but thanks for all the memories.

This place closed? Their pizza was fresh and some say reminded them of New York. Their lunch combos consisted of a huge slice of pizza, fries and a drink for about 6 – 7 bucks. I’m guessing these new pizza chains opening up in the area, that modeled after the whole Chipotle idea, drove this place away. What a bummer.

I can’t believe this place closed :-(They had the best pizza in California period. Some«pizza» shop if you could call it that opened up right next to them and I suspect they drove customers away. The alley didn’t help them and I’m not sure if they thought to canvas local businesses with delivery service for lunch events, or if that would have been profitable enough for them. It’s difficult being an east coast business where the brothers were from and introducing west coasters to this, because they know jack about real pizza :-(They think it’s some Hawaiian pineapple crap with chicken on some thick dough thing going on. If they are open anywhere else I’ll go there, I’d drive an hour for this pizza it’s that good.

I really don’t know what everyone on here is talking about with their high reviews of this place. Maybe we have been too spoiled by excellent pizza? We got 2 slices of cheese pizza and shared an order of fries. The total was $ 14. Seems like a lot(our favorite pizza place in OC is 2.90 for a slice the same size slice) but ok. The pizza had hardly any cheese or sauce on it, so it was more like eating a large cracker with Parmesan. The fries had the weirdest seasoning on them. They were barely edible. It tasted like nutmeg? Or cinnamon? Maybe pumpkin pie spice? I expected a regular salty seasoning salt but it… Wasn’t. In addition, they were barely cooked. Really starchy and all slumped over saturated with oil. I only gave it two stars because the location was cute. I wouldn’t come back here. I’ll go to 800 degrees instead :)

***10STARS*** Hands down the BEST pizza and fries in SoCal! Unfortunately this place is located in Pasadena and they do not deliver to DTLA(where I recently moved). Previously lived in Pasadena and ordered it all the time thru GrubHub. Food always came in a timely manner with no issues. PIZZA: I always get pepperoni & mushroom. Soft thin crust! Great taste & never too greasy like some other pizza places. Generous portions– the large is HUGE! FRIES: Get the brothers style fries!!! Seasoning is AMAZING!!! Fries are a thicker cut, which I normally don’t like, but the seasoning is that good! OUTSTANDINGCUSTOMERSERVICE!!! My boyfriend’s favorite food is pizza and this is his favorite pizza place. For our anniversary, I asked Brothers to help me by delivering a custom heart shaped pizza all the way to his office in DTLA. They said yes immediately. Lance was my main point of contact on this special project and it was a pleasure to work with him! THANKYOUBROTHERS!

I was looking for something different from my usual rotation of places for lunch, & I had never tried Brothers Pies N Fries. Luckily, they have pizza by the slice. Unluckily for me, there is no pizza & salad for lunch. Just pizza & fries. Yes, I get it, that this is clearly stated in the name of this place. It’s just that a side salad sounds so much healthier than a side of french fries. They let you put anything you want on your slice and I wanted Canadian bacon. The person taking my order must not have heard the Canadian part, because I got bacon but not Canadian bacon. That’s ok, tho. It’s a large slice and slightly hard to eat for 2 reasons. One is just that it’s a big piece of pizza, but the other is that the toppings slide all over the pizza, rather than being secured in place by the cheese. Maybe they feel like the toppings don’t do well if heated up in the pizza oven. But the sliding toppings definitely made things challenging. I’m a little conflicted about the fries. I definitely like the style of french fry at BPNF. These are not the shoestring fries. They are thick & sturdy enough to be eaten with a fork. However, the whole sweet/salty taste kind of ruined if for me. I didn’t enjoy it. Maybe I’ll ask if I can have only salt on them next time.

I like that this place opens late at night. There’s one worker who goes above and beyond serving customers. He’s always smiling and very welcoming, great customer service. The pizzas here are huge and heir fries taste pretty good, especially with the brother sauce(sweet and salty). It’s New York style pizza here, thin crust. Definitely a great hang out place with indoor and outdoor seating.

Pizza here is pretty good and the guy making the pizza are pretty nice. Every time I go here with my friends we make the same mistake. the largest pizza available and the 2nd largest french fry size… for 3 people. They have different types of fries that come in different seasoning /sauce. Fries were average and if you get a pizza I’d avoid getting the one with cheese and marinara because then its like getting a double pizza. Only outdoor seating and if you need to use the restroom, you can use the restroom in the restaurant right across the street.

Came in today for a pepperoni and mushroom slice and small brother style fries. Pizza was made perfectly and the service was outstanding,(Marlon & Trevor helped me out today). Best thing about this place is how hot and fresh the pizza is right out the oven and fresh fries as well. I sat inside to enjoy my food and it hit the spot, and the sweet tea I had was great also! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has the craving for a slice of pizza anytime of the day. What’s also awesome about this place is that it’s open late for those late night munchies!

Some judge a city’s worth by how good its pizza is. Brothers Pies & Fries finally makes LA a contender. Pies & Fries does New York style pizza, and the Bros do it well. Expect relatively thin(thinner than the Pizza Hut New Yorker; thicker than 800 Degrees), foldable & cheesy slices. The grease quotient’s perfect: just enough to be yummy, not so much that it forms ponds in the pepperoni. As far as I can tell, Pies & Fries offers the best NY-style pizza in the City of Angels. Though it’s still a far cry from pizza in The City. The pizza not only satisfies, it satiates inexpensively. A little brother’s pizza(the smaller of the two sizes) with one topping comes in at eight slices and around $ 15 with tax. Two very hungry people will not need more; three hungry ones may also find it suffices. The ambience is unique. There is no real indoor seating. Instead the tables and chairs lie outside in the alley, across from some boutique bar that, per its sign, has existed over two decades. Don’t shy away from dining in. The alleyway seating at dusk is a highlight, not a handicap. Chilling with your friends or your lover on a cool summer evening, watching the local color pass by while enjoying a hot slice – that is a serious part of Pies & Fries’ appeal. It’s intimate like Lady and the Tramp, or relaxed like your best friend’s backyard. Unilocal informs me that my five star rating equals«Woohoo! As good as it gets!» To that I add an asterisk: As good as it gets for pizza in LA.

I like it here actually, I just don’t know if I’d crave it or make an effort to come out here just to have it. We came here because of a groupon deal, otherwise I’d never notice it no matter how many times I walk up and down colorado. It’s in an alley behind the«jake’s» restaurant. There is barely any seating inside, so you probably want to grab and go if the weather isn’t great, which is kinda tricky because if you’re in Old Town, you’re probably here to hang out a little so I guess it would only work if you are at the end of your shopping trip, or you are just gonna walk and eat at the same time? Two of us shared one small pizza and we each ordered our own small size fries. I had the skinny fries with malt vinegar while my husband had thick fries«brothers» style. The seasoning on the fries is very mild and you can hardly taste it but I have to say the fries were DELICIOUS. I really shouldn’t be eating all that fries but I ate so much of it I felt so disgusted with myself. The pizza was made fresh, thin crust, lots of cheese, and the toppings were fresh. I enjoy thin crust pizza and this was done very well. We couldn’t finish the pizza and had to take the rest home. I noticed that they have a pizza eating contest every year so all you pizza lovers get ready to win a year worth of pizza(I overheard someone said that’s the prize)! If you’re in the area and like thin crust pizza(or AWESOME fries), check this place out. By the way the«brothers» seasoning is a salty and sweet combination of seasoning.

This pizza(and fries!) spot is a definite HIDDENGEM in Old Town Pasadena. I can’t believe I procrastinated on writing this review for my favourite pizza joint in Pasadena. I first came here in February 2012 after a Star Wars Episode I 3D screening(yes, I am a Star Wars geek). Found the place through Unilocal after searching fries in Pasadena. When I read that they had PIZZAFRIES, I knew it was meant to be. First visit: Mushroom and Jalapeño Pizza, Malt Vinegar Fries, and Brothers Style Fries. They ran out of the Pizza Fries(or rather the ingredients they use for it). Was disappointed. One of the brothers was too and that’s why he gave me a voucher for FREE Pizza Fries the next time I come in! More on that later. The pizza was made fresh. It was ooey gooey cheesy NY style pizza. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And the fries, my goodness, the FRIES! They are Gourmet Hand-Cut Fries and come in flavours like Plain, Maryland Style, Brothers Style, Malt Vinegar. They also have Sweet Potato Fries and for $ 2 extra you can get yourself PIZZAFRIES. Not many people like Vinegar but I do so i really enjoyed the Malt Vinegar Fries. For their Brothers Style Fries they use their bomb sweet/salty seasoning. Came back for the PIZZAFRIES(their hand-cut fries topped with amazing cheese, their pizza sauce, and spices)! I don’t know, man but it was just unforgettable. The marriage of already amazing hand-cut fries and pizza toppings(cheese + sauce) = happily ever after! Also try their Sweet Tea. I’m not really a fan of Sweet Tea but I love theirs! The place is pretty tiny, only one-two tables inside. Most people just hang out outside and order pizza by the slice after a night out or a movie. I appreciate that they are open past midnight! The employees, the three BROTHERS are all so friendly. I am just a super big fan of this place and will keep telling all my friends about them! PS: I checked the Romantic Ambiance box because I personally think pizza is the definition of romance.

Open late, decent food, quick service, and reasonable prices– clever, clever, I see what you did there! Opened until 3:00am on both Friday and Saturday nights. Food The pizza wasn’t bad. Tasted fresher than Dominos and Pizza Hut and didn’t leave me with greasy hands. The slices are huge and literally takes up the entire plate and some. You’ll have to fold your pizza in half if you want any chance of fitting it in your mouth. The sweet and salty fries were a let down. They had great texture but the seasoning left much to be desired. The staff was great! Location Down an alleyway and kind of hidden. Right in front a club and local lounge. If you’re in the Pasadena area I would just google map it but use the walking version for less confusion. I didn’t see the inside. It kind of felt like they close that part off as it gets later. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating that gives you a nice view of the alley. Overall Great for a quick and easy bite.

Simply put, some of the BEST pizza and fries in Pasadena! As you probably know by now, Pasadena has VERY little to offer in way of good restaurants especially Old Town! Most people who frequent Old Town have no taste buds and love to over pay for awful food, then they write outstanding reviews on here as if they know great food, However Brothers Pies N’ Fries is a hidden gem tucked away down one of the many alleys of Old Town. The pizza here is EXTREMELY good and consistent, with minimal grease. You will usually receive a HUGE slice of pizza that is more than enough for 1 person(See picture with plastic knife for size) Their fries are some of the best you will ever have! Although I don’t care for any of their seasonings, just adding plain salt to them and ordering them well done will do you right! If a seasoning has to be added, I would recommend bringing your own Lawry’s Seasoning Salt. The staff here is ALWAYS friendly and will give you GREAT service!(Extremely rare in Pasadena) This is a PERFECT quick and inexpensive lunch spot. I am a bit hesitant to write this review because I don’t want this place to become over crowded with donkeys, causing their service and quality to go down; But they do deserve this EXCELLENT review! Enjoy!

I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time since I looooove pizza and this place has great reviews! So I finally dragged my friend Jin C. here on Sunday for lunch. We parked at the public parking garage on Fair Oaks and Green(90 minutes free) and walked on over here. There was no line so we were able to quickly order a Little Brother(14″) Cheese Pizza Pie with Ham and Pineapple along with a Big Brother size of their Gourmet Handcut Fries, Brothers Style(Sweet/Salty). They have a Unilocal check-in offer for 10% off any pizza pie so of course we used that and our total came to just under $ 18. Like Andre N. mentioned, they have an amazing oven that turns out pizzas really quickly. So we were able to get our food fast, which was good since we were starving. I wouldn’t say it was the best pizza in the world, but it was really good. The crust was thin but still sturdy enough to hold up its toppings and I devoured half of the pizza in what felt like a blink of an eye. The fries were also good too – I don’t know what their special seasoning is but it’s addicting! Although it must have been really salty because I was so thirsty later on. We definitely want to come back and try some of their other seasonings too… I think we want to try Maryland Style next…

I’m addicted to their pizza! I live in Burbank and drive there for pizza all the time. The crust is thin and it has just the right amount of cheese, sauce and toppings. it’s not greasy. I love it. I came here once with a girl friend and then I brought my husband and kids and that’s the only pizza my kids ask for now. Which is why I have to make the drive to Pasadena all the time. the fries just plain old salt is my favorite! and the soda always good I know it’s soda but it’s always cold and really strong. and most importantly the service always great! only bummer is the seating and the smoking outside. I don’t like to smell cigarette smoke when I eat. wish people couldn’t smoke out there.

Legit. It’s really fulfilling when bookmarked places finally get visited. It’s equally fulfilling when it lives up to the reviews. We got a little brother mushroom pizza(14″), brothers style fries(8 oz), and the pizza fries(16 oz). Total came to $ 21.27 plus tax. The pizza was legit! Everything tasted really good and we enjoyed the brother’s style fries more than the pizza fries. A good value in my opinion, specially for downtown Pasadena. Cooking time is quick, however, the kitchen is larger than the seating area. Staff is friendly, cheerful, and very helpful.
