I love this place :( Although the service is slow and inattentive, the food is really good Their crêpe and seafood risotto are just amazing. adding bailey’s in crêpe makes it 100x better.

I have never had the food here, but I love their Crêpe’s! Check this place out! Outdoor seating is the best because its in a nice little alley way and the people there are really friendly. ENJOY!

Not sure if they got new management, but the last 3 times in a row they’ve run out of things. Not just one but many things. The first time they ran out of mangos, strawberries, blueberries, apples. This time they ran out of sausage, spinach, eggs(?), turkey, it’s unbelievable. And they don’t seem very obliging to people with allergies. I’ve always loved this place it has been my breakfast spot for years. I’ll give em another chance I’d hate to have to give up on this place :/but it’s not looking good.

We decided to try this spot out because it has an outdoor patio area that is dog friendly. Came for a late lunch on Sunday, so it wasn’t too busy. Nevertheless, it still took quite a while just to get water. After waiting for some time(it was a hot day and both we and our dog were thirsty), I went inside to ask *politely*(AND with a smile I might add!) if we could get our water — I figured I could just get it from the bar inside. I thought it was a simple request, but our server Megan, responded by shooting me a look and an eye roll as she said«YEA, I’m coming with it». Seriously? We ordered a grilled salmon salad(decent), and a filet mignon crêpe(2 tiny pieces of overcooked meat SMOTHERED with mushrooms and sauce). Overall, the food was OK though a little overpriced, but it was the service that really left a bad taste in our mouths. I’m tempted to just leave this review at that, but thought it was worth mentioning that there was one other server there who helped us mid-meal(not sure what his name was), who was INCREDIBLY friendly. Had he been our waiter, I’m sure the experience would have been different. But we’re probably not going back anyways on the off chance that we get stuck with Miss Cranky Pants again.

My friend and I stumbled upon Crème De La Crêpe as we were walking to our Bar Method class. We missed our class by 5 minutes and decided to get breakfast before the next one. As CDLC is in the same alleyway we decided to check it out. My friend and I wanted something light and we decided to share the salmon and spinach eggs benedict… and good thing we did! The plate was huge and extremely generous! Came with 2 eggs benedict, potatoes, salad and toast. The salmon and egg was good, but the egg mcmuffin was pretty soggy and I didn’t really eat it. Potatoes were good. very cheesy. Salad came with a Dijon-like mustard. We looked around at the other tables’ food and everything looked delicious and just as generous in portion size. The place was cute and decorated with knick-knacks reminiscent of Paris. There are some couches to lounge in if you prefer to sit back and enjoy some coffee. There are a few tables outside for patio seating. Overall, the staff was really nice. Food was ok, nothing mind blowing. I might go back and try a crêpe to see if it’ll be better. Parking can be located at the free first 90min parking on DeLacy or street parking.

Cute little spot located door down from Burke William Spa in the alley. Dog friendly spot, good to know for next time, so I can take my little tofu. Ordered house coffee and a build your own omelet. House coffee came in a cute cup with two cube of sugar, cubes yes. One brown and white. I put both in because after putting the brown, it was still a little bitter and add a little cream and it’s yummy. Strong too! Created my own omelet with bacon, avocados and jack cheese. Portions are HUGE here, my food came with potato baked quiche, salad with delicious ranch dressing, baguette accompany with butter and fresh homemade jam. Omelet was great, every bite had avocados, bacon and jack cheese. Quiche potato, OMGOODNESS, what is this? Very good, buttery and soft potato baked in some creamy cheesy goodness. Writing this review makes me want to go back!!!

Came here for brunch and really enjoyed their buckwheat crepes. It feels like you’re eating a healthier crêpe. I got the breakfast Japonese, which contained smoked salmon, jack cheese, and spinach. I also had a soy chai latte, which was a little bland but not bad. Ambience was nice, though you’re in close proximity to other tables and can totally overhear everything.

I’m surprised this place does not have a higher rating. This place should have ATLEAST a four star minimum for it’s service. Given it was a slower hour, however, they were very friendly and checking to see how we were doing on the outside patio with our friend’s dogs. The crepes were a delight as well. I ordered the spicy lamb sausage crepes. At first you forget about the cheese inside the buckwheat crêpe, but a slice of that plus the sauce plus the mushroom PLUS the spicy sausage all in one bite, just the right amount of kick and amazingness. I even had a bite of my gf’s plate which was not bad at all either. Can’t wait to come back to this location again to try some other crepes.

Mmmmm! This place has some great crepes! It took almost 15 minutes to order because the menu has so many options. Breakfast, lunch or dessert crêpe– which to choose? I finally settled on a lunch crêpe called the Mignonne. It contained blobs of goat cheese, small cuts of asparagus, spinach, avocado, tomato, topped with maple walnuts, wrapped in a buckwheat crêpe. I must say it was delicious and very big! I could only finish about half before the dessert crêpe came… For dessert I had the strawberry, banana, nutella crêpe with whipped cream. It really hit the spot. The fruit was fresh, tasty, and somehow I made enough room for it in my dessert stomach. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch. Great food, kind servers– overall a good atmosphere.

The place is a bit hard to find because it’s tucked away in an alley. It is a quaint little restaurant with an outdoor patio with fire heaters. The restrooms are not in the restaurant so you would have to get a key for the restrooms that are around the corner in a separate building. Although the restaurant was cute, the food wasn’t as pleasant as I hoped for. I ordered seafood pasta and my boyfriend had spinach and egg white crêpe. My pasta had somewhat sour and the smoked salmon had too much of a smokey taste. They added cheese to my boyfriend’s crêpe after my boyfriend specifically said no cheese. The second time they made his crêpe, the crêpe seemed soft and cold. Maybe we were just unlucky when ordering and the rest of the food on the menu is better. Otherwise, I think we will consider trying other crêpe places.

~ This was the highlight of our meal ~ Crêpe dessert flambé w/grand marnier!!! A hidden little gem tucked inside an alley in old town Pasadena… it’s hard to believe that this cute café is actually a chain! Thanks to Groupon($ 15 for $ 30 worth of food deal AND a gift card from my cousin), we enjoyed this quaint French café located inside an old building. Their specialty is Crepes, SOWEGOTCREPES!!! We had 2 savory buckwheat crepes for dinner… Mine ~ PARISIENNE chicken breast topped with swiss & mushroom in a creamy béchamel sauce($ 15) — It was excellent! ~ I love anything with cream in it! My spouse ~ FILETMIGNON blue cheese topped with filet mignon in porto mushroom sauce($ 17) — very good! Dessert… CRÈMEDELACRÊPE ~ see video above! ~ Sweet crêpe dessert w/bananas, nutella, coconut, «Flambé» with Grand Marnier($ 8.95) and a side of the best homemade whip cream. My spouse and I shared this dessert, but I seriously thought about getting my own! It was that yummy! ~ You can custom order your own crêpe dessert w/your choice of topping and fruit + have it flambé for only $ 2 more. Latte($ 3.75) ~ reminds me of the strong European coffee I had in Paris. Very good latte! And it pairs nicely with the crêpe dessert — A MUST! My spouse and I shared it because it was a strong coffee. My 9 year old boy only wanted a Sprite drink($ 2.50) ~ he was not hungry! Oh, and we do consider this a date night even if we bring kiddo along… My son is very quiet in restaurants as long as I give him my Android phone to play with! Who would have thought Android could be such a great nanny? They seem to be kid friendly here, but there were mostly couples dining in the restaurant. There was seating outside, but we preferred to sit inside because it was a lot cooler in there. Not to mention that I needed the lighting to take better pics after dark(I don’t have SLR!) Great service… we had 2 servers. One of our servers was particularly engaging(I’m bad w/names but she has short blonde hair!). The service was surprisingly quick here… I had to quickly set my camera in video mode for the flambé dessert! This is not your average chain… they have 5 other locations… Culver City, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Long Beach, and Redondo Beach. They have a nice website listed on Unilocal. Oh, yeah… and I used my cousin’s gift card that she gave to me for my birthday last month and that covered the tab of $ 18 and some change(plus the $ 15 for the Groupon I paid in advance). So the meal came out to a total of $ 33(w/Groupon) and some change. That was sweet because I still have almost $ 20 left on the gift card. Otherwise the bill would have been almost $ 50WITHOUT the Groupon for 2 savory crêpe dishes, 1 crêpe dessert flambé, 1 sprite for my son, and 1 latte. In the end, we were satisfied with our meal. The only thing I did not like is that the restaurant has a public toilet outside(I think they share this one with the other restaurants and bars located in the alley). I went in the women’s restroom only to find a clogged toilet that would not flush(there was a lot of junk in there ewww!!!). So I went back to get the key for the men’s restroom and I could not believe that it was much cleaner! I’m just glad I used the restroom after I was finished with dinner, or else I would have lost my sweet appetite! As for street parking(a freakin’ migraine on Colorado Blvd.) we used the parking structure on De Lacey(free parking for the first 90 minutes). The restaurant is within 1 – 2 blocks walking distance from this structure. We filled out this card at the restaurant to win a date for 2… We just came from there this past Sunday, but I do hope we win!!! hint… hint…

The Wife and I were actually headed to «Aux Delices» to get her Crêpe fix but with a line out the door and ALL tables full we opted to come here since the place was empty. They have a pretty large menu selection and items are on the pricy side perhaps why this place was empty and Aux Delices was jam packed… Crêpe Zidane — This is actually on the Desert menu and comes with Ice Cream but we ordered it without ice cream… Crêpe itself was above average but what put this thing over the top was the amount of fruit they fill it with they were NOT stingy with the strawberries and bananas, it also had a nice helping of Nutella which makes everything better! 4.5-Stars Omelet Madrid — Yeah I went Spain in the French restaurant, WHY… cuz it was on the menu Duh… Nicely cooked eggs with chorizo, avocado, salsa, cheese and sour cream I have to say this was GOOD, obviously a quality chorizo. 4.5-Stars Potato Gratin — aka Potato thingy to me was slightly on the dry side, it was OK nothing horrible but no wow. French Bread — Not sure if it’s made in house? but it’s REALGOOD. Salad /Baby Greens we nice but the house made dressing was to die for!

I love the menu… its one of those perfect little lunch spots in my opinion. I like a classic french bistro type of place… with this being in an alley, it totally fits the bill. I know its not healthy, but My God do I love bechamel sauce… I ordered a ham and cheese crêpe with bechamel… only mistake I made was adding brie to it as it already came with cheese, and this somehow made it too cheesy(I never knew that too cheesy existed till then) Anyway regardless… I love this little spot, great menu, and I look forward to trying more of their dishes. Everything I had was fresh and served with a smile, next time I want to try breakfast!

I stopped here for Pasadena Happy Hour(HH) week and also because my friend had a Groupon he wanted to use. Happy Hour deals are only available at the bar, but they had a decent selection to choose from their HH menu, all night long!( ). Their escargot was eh, okay. It wasn’t fresh and the best part about the dish was the melted butter. The bread that came with the dish looked old and bleached white, blah! My friends ordered the Douce dessert crêpe-nutella and fresh mango with whipped cream and I did as well. Luckily, my order came later and I was able to order mine without the mango because all my friends were complaining how hard it was, disappointing! I also ordered the Mimosa. The OJ they used tasted like the frozen mixes that you have to add water with, don’t get it. I didn’t even finish my drink; that’s how bad it was! The service was extremely slow here, but I can see that the waitresses were all trying their best. I think it’s because they have a high turnover here. Even the waitress was saying she was new and apologized! I would only come back for their dessert crêpe and that’s it! Keeping it simple :)

Leap Day… Extra day… Extra dolla to make enough to give a holla. However, don’t be using it to be wollerin’ at Crème De La Cr*pe. I want this review to only exist every four years, as it was a real disappointment. I was so looking forward to eating crepes since my favorite place, Genki Living, closed down in Arcadia a while back. The cozy restaurant/bar atmosphere and setting were visually spot-on( ), but the stars were not aligned for this particular visit. It may have turned out better if we had sat at the bar( ) and drank several glasses of wine to become a little inebriated before eating. This would have been a one star in my book, however the extra star was for the sole girl who was the only one there to do the seating, servicing, bartending, and who knows — maybe even back there making the crepes. She also accepted a Lunch-only Groupon for Dinner so we were pretty ecstatic about that. However, things pretty much went down hill from there. For an appetizer, had to try the French Onion soup( ) — heck this place is French right? However, it had a very strange taste to it which I believe was an excess of apple juice or something tangy of that nature. Not sure if that was a secret ingredient, but it just didn’t work. Also for French Onion, I’m used to hot crocks and not lukewarm regular soup bowls. We ordered a Normandie savory crêpe( ) which was served with baby greens… When the only thing you can say was good were the baby greens — that’s saying something. It was cardboard stuff with tough prosciutto, over-cooked spinach and grilled onions, and strong-scented goat cheese. The Exouise savory crêpe( ) was also ordered which was filled with melted brie over tomatoes and ham, and topped with a basil pesto sauce. Again, the best equivalent comparison was to dried cardboard. Both crepes were $ 14 so pretty pricy for what was delivered. Also, we weren’t really given a choice on either having«buckwheat» or «sweet batter» crepes(as advertised at the top of the menu page,) so I’m assuming these were just offered in «buckwheat.» And, I must say — this was one Buckwheat that was NOT A-O-Tay! The Crème de la crêpe sweet dessert crêpe( ) was ordered for its namesake. It was filled with bananas, nutella, coconut, and Flambéed with Grand Marnier. This was actually too sweet and was not fully consumed. Even though this was the best crêpe of the night, it was nothing to write home about, and this review was contemplated of not being written. All in all — this place did not live up to the crème de la crème namesake comparison. Ps. The«*» in my second sentence can be substituted with an appropriate letter of your choosing. ;)

This is one of those cute hole in the wall places that you would probably never find if you weren’t looking for it. It’s nested in the back ally of Colorado behind the sports bar. The décor definitely gives you the feeling you’ve stepped into a french café. We came for a late afternoon lunch so we got seats immediately. To start off we had the ZIDANE: fresh strawberries, bananas, melted nutella & vanilla ice cream. This was super sweet from the nutella, but the crêpe itself was cooked perfectly moist. The cold semi sweet vanilla ice cream along with the home made whip on top was a perfect mixture with the slightly tart raw strawberries/bananas. SPLENDIDE fresh strawberries, honey & vanilla ice cream. This is almost as simple as it gets for a crêpe. A simple buttery crêpe filled with strawberries drizzled with honey and served with a mound of vanilla ice cream, whip and a sprig of fresh mint. You definitely have to eat all 3 parts with every bite to get the full potential of this dish. This was definitely a perfect light crêpe for a warm summer afternoon along with a tall glass of coffee. I would definitely order this one again. EXQUISE melted brie cheese over tomatoes & ham & topped with basil sauce. This was a buckwheat crêpe filled with ham, melted cheese, fresh tomato slices and drizzled with basil sauce and served with a side of baby spinach. This was quite yummy as well as the basil sauce gave the perfect flavor boost with every bite and the savoriness from cheese/ham combo. Overall i enjoyed the crepes here as they all were very dynamic and yummy in there own special ways. Although the service was abit on the slower side, but i guess that was expected as there was only one waitress running the entire restaurant.

This place is so cute, complete with small patio dining! I know it’s called Crème de la Crêpe so go for the crepes! Don’t get the Coquine dessert crêpe, there’s nothing wrong with it(and I love nutella and can eat it out of the jar) but it’s just too«vanilla» boring! Live a little and get a savory crêpe instead or show off your creativity and make your own! =) I came here multiple times for the escargot, covered in butter sauce and not rubbery-chewy the small baguette slices was perfect for swabing. Better than the first time I had escargot in Quebec. The servers are all very sweet and have lovely French accents. When I asked my server where the bathroom was I had to make him repeat it a few times and not because I wanted to hear him talk sexy. Confused Me: Where is the restroom? What? Behind the… What? Behind the… BLANKET??? Sorry, once more… behind the. OH! BLACKGATE. x_X FYI The restroom is not in this adorable restaurant but behind a black gate around the corner and to the right(you will need to ask for the key). Excuse my deaf American ears but say Black Gate multiple times to yourself with a heavy French accent and you will see how I heard Blanket. XD

After stopping in at Three Dog Bakery for some sweeties for my dogs, we wanted to stop somewhere to eat that was dog friendly. Conveniently, Crème de la Crêpe already had some 4-legged guests outside on their patio so we knew they were a feasible option. I hate it when we go to a place and sit in the patio and you get stares like«why did you bring your dogs here?». HEREAREMYDOGS:( ) We came on a Sunday morning. We ordered from the breakfast menu. I chose the Fromage buckwheat crêpe which came with egg, brie cheese, bacon, onion & sauteed mushrooms. PHOTOS:
My husband created his own omelet with bacon, spicy chicken sausage, Jack cheese, onions, with side of potatoes, toast and salad. PHOTO( ) We thought our server was superb. She even assisted us with our dogs’ leashes when they became tangled. The food was delicious which we enjoy to some French songs and watching other dogs entering the bakery next door. Overall, it was a perfect way to spend a cold gloomy Sunday morning…
