Café at Broad

Very conveniently located on the Caltech campus … great for early morning breakfast and afternoon lunch. Good muffins and other baked goods and for lunch there is a good selection of soups, sandwiches and some hot meal selections. Relatively quiet and the service is fast and friendly. Free WIFI troughout the campus … so also here!

Not bad. Tuna sandwich was a little heavy on the mayo, but now I know how to order better next time.

Located near the Broad Biology building, the Café at Broad serve breakfast and lunch. Breakfast they serve coffee, pastries, danish, express. Lunch they serve Deli.

* Nice location however is far from most part of the campus, it got one TV inside showing cable. Pretty of seating. Clean atmosphere, like the exterior design. Very Clean.

+ What I like is their produce, is organic ! The organic pickles and the orange slice is delicious.
— Don’t like the sandwich that much. bread is way too soft, easily tear apart. Will be nice if was toasted. The meat it comes is a bit in the lean side. Don’t like the cheese, why american cheese? it doesn’t match.

+ The staff was helpful, quickly notice the price online is not the same as the actual price, and call the campus to fix it. No issue with the order.
— Take awhile for the food to come out. Subway would had done 3 sandwich plus toasted compare to 1 in here.

+ Good option if you nearby, great produce and cheap side.
— Service a bit slow, might as well wait in a line in the truck or head to real deli shop nearby, price is not much different either.
TIPS
* You do not has to be Cal Tech clubs to eat here.
* Salad & Sides cost only $ 1.50
* You could find parking nearby in the street up to 2 hours.
MY 2 CENTS
I was a bit let down with the quality of deli, the produce was very good but the most important the sandwich wasn’t good and worst the price doesn’t justified. This ain’t hot sandwich, take so long to get your order just not idea. But the produce in here are so good is hard to ignore and bargain side salad.

Decent price for typical sandwiches, nothing fancy.

I have been going to Broad more often for lunch because it is so good.
Sitting in front of me is a roast beef sandwich and the daily soup. I was expecting pre-​sliced beef from a package, but as I watched the sandwich chef make the sandwich, I saw him carving a huge hunk of beef! It was perfect: brown on the outside, a tender red on the inside.
The woman who takes orders is sweet.
