As a previous ballerina, I know the importance of a strong core. As a current health care practitioner I use my previous trainings in my current treatment of my patients. Its very evident that a lot of patients who have pain have a weaker center and can’t keep their spine alignment in good form. I personally have taken Teya’s class and its great. She is very knowledgeable and gives you that intimate 1 – 1 training. She has a sharp eye to see the slightest change in posture, or incorrect usage of the core muscles. The great thing about Teya is she takes the time to make sure you learn it correctly so that you an also do the exercises on your own to practice when you don’t have time to see her. She also specializes in working with post-partum and pregnant women, and I have found that a lot of my patients who have recently had weaker cores could use this form of exercises and have recommended her to my patients. Another patient of mine who has had sciatica pain had great relief from her first session with her. My personal class was also intense! Its been a while since I was in a dance studio, I recall some of my classical training-but what I thought I knew wasn’t enough to get me through her class. It was intense and it was a great reminder that even I could use a tune up! Thanks a lot Teya!

Teya is a one-of-a-kind trainer. She focuses on working the deepest layers of your abdominals so your body is overall stronger, more stable, and less prone to injury. Most individuals lack in core strength which is why her training sessions are so valuable. She is creative in her exercises so they’re fun to do(you’re not just doing sit-ups) and she takes the time to critique each rep so you’re always in proper form — getting the most out of your session. As a chiropractor myself, I understand the true importance of core stability. After just a few sessions with Teya, I really started to feel the difference in my body. Even though I know she is focusing on my core — it still feels like a full-body workout! I especially love how she focuses on training pregnant women. You can even bring your little one with you during your session. Her exercises are gentle enough to do throughout your whole pregnancy and especially during post-partum when you want to bring your core back! I always look forward to my sessions with Teya and would highly recommend her to anyone that wants to experience a new and more effective type of workout!

Jonny’s GRS strikes againnn!!! REVIEW1. Oh ya. Well, people, GRS is a Grassroots Review System! If you don’t know, now you know! Jonny’s GRS is: People Ambiance Service/Food/Drink People — 5 of 5 First of all, let me preface this by saying I first met Teya, Core Connection’s owner, a while ago at a dance festival. Teya is a CHEK-Certified Trainer, which is like a exercise coach crossed with a physical therapist. Core Connection is a unique approach to exercise that enables a person to correct themselves through exercise to stop pain in the body! It’s amazing. You do a few techniques, and you’re sweating balls! Ambiance — 4 of 5 Teya’s studio is located in the back of the Lineage Dance Center in Pasadena. It’s a cute little room, with floor length mirrors on one side, and racks of weights, yoga balls, and a workout cage on the other. It’s small, private, and amazing. Service — 5 of 5 The initial CHEK course has a great initial postural assessment. Easy, and revealing — my shoulders are actually not straight — and this makes your workouts much more focused and productive. After about 6 workouts, I feel my core and back are so much more balanced, and aware. I sweat a lot — and while I’ve done capoeira, regular gym workouts, zumba classes, I would personally say that this workout has the best and most lasting effects. That’s right, I need to sit up straighter as I type this. lol.
