Thank the Lord Almighty for Pappa Rich, the replacer of Daily Grind. I’ll admit it I was a bit upset when I saw the signboard that said a bun shop was going to be placed on this corner. Knowing nothing about the business I was thinking… hot cross buns, cinnamon buns, jubilee buns, hot dog buns, etc; NOT(1) specialty bun in addition to their coffee & tea. Thus I was a bit skeptical my first step inside. I tried their(1) bun sample, pretty good~ but still on the defense because I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy their coffee. I found a promotional flier online( ) in which I received a free 16 oz house coffee with a purchase of a bun. Well it is not Jones(my fave), but it IS a quality coffee(not Folgers or ground 15 weeks in advanced like some other local places I’ve been to, we won’t mention any names~ they are shut down now anyways). As a regular Daily Grind goer it was a little surreal to be sitting in here at first, a reminder of business’ past, but I give Pappa Rich props for how they set up shop, especially the fact that they created more seating room inside. So Pappa Rich you have my attention and since you are in close walking distance from Ambassador Auditorium you have my business, please don’t move anytime soon. I have yet to try your tea~which sounds amazing. A couple more visits and I’ll write you an official review.

I can appreciate a place that is trying to go green by using corn made products especially their cold drink cups. The bad thing about that is most often than not you’re left spending more due to the high frequency of them cracking. As a customer I found that out on my recent trip to Daily Grind. No mind I still enjoy your peach ice teas. This small shop is right off the corner and offers very little indoor seating but why sit indoors when the outdoor seating is perfectly covered by the overhead trees? Enjoy the shade and free wi-fi along with your bev!

the people who work here are so damn nice! as someone who avoids places like starbucks at all costs, this is MY kinda coffee shop! the atmosphere is very relaxed, unlike other coffee chains that are more like an assembly line than personable service. I understand that I may be alone in my laid back attitude about coffee, but, hey… what’s the rush? the drip coffee is great. espresso drinks, also great. the blendz are to die for! yummmmmy! also, the breakfast sandwiches are good as are the lunch baguettes. all around, i have enjoyed this quiant location on each visit. cheers! xo– andrea

I’m only reviewing this coffee shop based on seating… yeap, on seating. I went there today at 9am thinking that since the Daily grind has some good reviews here it would be a perfect match for me. I was wrong. The place is really small inside, only a couple of tables and a bar. I guess its called like that. The good thing is they do have plenty of outside seating, but I don’t like to seat outside to work with my laptop, so I was hoping something else. I did see the prices, and to be Pasadena, they weren’t that pricey.

I stopped in here after to get myself a celebratory«my interview went well» Latte. I was lucky enough to get Cliff behind the Latte machine. ITWASPERFECT! The best I’ve ever had! Everyone in there was so nice and had great advice on the local restaurants – I was looking for something Vegan. Thank you so much! I’ll be back for more!

The Daily Grind is a great place to stop for a quick snack or a fantastic vanilla latte, wayyyy better than Starbucks! They also have live music on the weekends and are located in the middle of Old Town Pasadena! Great atmosphere plus friendly staff. Ps. Ask for Cliff!!! He makes great Latte art toooo!!!

I stopped by this place after having dinner at Gyu-Kaku, and I was pleasantly surprised with the Mocha Latte that I ordered. I thought the quality of their latte was better than Coffee Bean and Starbucks. I’ve had my fair share of coffee(proud coffee addict for 9 years) and this place is worth a try on a cold night, out and about in Old Town Pasadena. I am likely to go back if I were in or around the area.

Just like this quick review, the Daily Grind is awesome if you need a quick«pick-me-up» to go(except for parking)! 1) Blueberry muffin: They heat it up… without me asking! Homemade! While not the best blueberry muffin I’ve had, props for the homemade and heated factor. 2) Cranberry white chocolate scone: Heated! Homemade! Tastes great! A must try! Liking this place!(except for the parking).

The daily grind. I went there for the first time today. I’ve been eyeing this place waiting for it to open because it seemed like it would be a nice little coffee shop next to the little tea house place. It had good coffee and different flavors which is nice. The bad part was that I dont think the person i was talking to about my beverage really knew what he was talking about. And i think he was the manager. I ordered the vienesse latte and made sure that the blueberry wasnt going to be part of the beverage and he said that it wasnt going to be in there because it was a syrup for blueberry and then powder for the vienesse chocolate(which is a flavor that i love! so i was really excited to have it!) But upon recieving my still delicious beverage, there was very much so blueberries in it. Oh well. I also asked for soy which i got, but i think it was a vanilla soy and not just a regular soy like the cashier(which i believe was manager) told me it would be. But overall still a yummy beverage and i think i will still go back and order the same drink. well except order it the way they made it. haha i ordered that drink and a iced americano. the medium size and the total came out to be a little over 6 dollars. Not bad :) They have a nice patio to hang out, spacious chairs and tables! The pastry case looked pretty yummy too! they have nice sandwiches and muffins, biscottis too! Cute decorations. Really good foam. :)

Daily Grind is a small coffee shop on a corner of Green Street, across from Buca Di Beppo’s. DG also serves sandwiches and pastries; the sandwiches are kinda fancy(apple-brie-turkey) and they have a regular selection of espresso and coffee drinks(mocha lattes; drinks are regularly priced, about $ 3.50 for sm.), as well as non-coffee(oreo shakes, Italian sodas) and coffees by the pound. There’s a small area for tables and chairs inside and outside. The service is very friendly; he made me a drink that i customized, off the menu.(They use Monin syrups) It was very chocolatey, yum :) My only gripe is that the sitting area is slightly cramped and off to the side. It’s a pretty chill and quiet coffee shop, farther from the busy street so you can hear your life partner(s) talking. I’ll be back for my macadamia nut lattes.
