Update– I’ve not been back to Gabbys. I don’t plan to ever go back. Their food has become very poor. This has become a must miss eating location. Take my advice… Pass it by.

I’ve only ever had drive through so I can’t say if sit down is as incompetent as drive through is. Owing to a family member that insists on going here, of the 5 times I’ve been there, I’ve never actually rec’d what I ordered. Usually it’s the things like not getting sides or not getting the correct sides, but I did get a wrong sandwich. Owing to the line, I’m not about to spend time going through each and every container to check. Also, it seems the full menu isn’t available in the drive though which is a tad consternating given that they don’t specify that on their website. The bbq beef is decent as is the turkey(if a bit dry), the sausage is good. Sauce is tangy with a hint of spice and nice and watery thin like I like it. The chef’s salads are nice, fresh, and crisp though it seems they have a policy against ever giving the right dressing.

I go to Gabby’s every Thursday, I ALLWASHAVEGRACIE! I have never have had a problem with the food or service I think your server is the key to a good experience. If they know what you want and they care about good service it is a win, win. and that server is Gracie. Ask for Gracie and you won’t be disappointed.

I told the cashier extra onions and pickels and she did not give it to me. The fries order cost $ 1.49 and it looked like it was kids size french fries. Not pleased with service. I paid $ 9.50 for my order and it was not worth it.

Quality in food has gonna down since last time I’ve been here. Loaded bake potatoes, with soggy chop brisket on the side little to no bbq sauce. Not my order but that’s how it came. And it was $ 20 for two loaded bake potatoes with chop brisket on top. Not worth it.

So twice I go to Houston and I am brought to this place each time. The quality of food is tolerable at best. The service is slow, they were out of things both times, and their barbeque sauce is a corn syrupy mess that seems to only serve the purpose of wetting the dry meat you are given to help you chew and choke down the meat. 2 stars because the Banana Pudding is OUTOFTHISWORLD. What a surprise, I should have just ordered 2 of those for dinner.

So many things went wrong with my order but the one that really concerns me was the Metal shavings in the potato salad! Calling the health department tomorrow! I’ll never eat at this place again!

I love their ribs, which is why when I went today I was disappointed. They were hard and stuck to the bone like glue. The waitress was nice about it tho and got me a burger as a replacement but I was looking forward to the ribs :(When I got the replacement burger(that I ordered medium) it came well done and was super dry. We will NOT be coming here again.

Horrible experience. I attempted calling and let the phone ring for 10 minutes before I finally gave up on ordering in advance. When I finally got there I asked about the phones and actually called while I was in the restaurant and the phone wasn’t ringing they said they couldn’t find it. So they said they would put a rush on my order and it still Took 15 minutes for a half pound of chopped beef. Plus I think their food is way overpriced. A half pound of chopped beef should not cost $ 10.

There is a reason this place has been open all these years. Good food, good prices, and generally good service.

I’ve always loved Gabby’s. Been coming here for years. I love their ribs. They are smoked just right for me. They usually fall off the bone. The potato salad is the best I’ve had so far. Sausage is standard. I have yet to have sausage at a bbq place that wows me. The brisket is consistently dry. That would be my one complaint. BBQ sauce is on the tangy side but I like that. I don’t really care for the sweeter ones. Love the atmosphere here. It’s very cozy. Live music on the weekends kinda lends for a change of pace/scenery. I know us Texans are picky about our BBQ and we all have different tastes. Some like it sweet others don’t. Some like mustard based potato salad while others prefer the mayo version(mayo version at this place btw). All in all this place is pretty decent.

The good: Bbq sauce was decent Spare ribs weren’t terrible Turkey was good Potato salad was okay Kids liked the bbq chicken Free bread Good brisket nachos The bad: Squash tasted like they seasoned it with butter, salt, and a pound of sugar, then cooked it a year and a half Beans were bland Super narrow parking spots in front Waitress didn’t seem to care Another waitress spent a lot of time on her phone in the bathroom The ugly: Roach crawled along the wall by our table. I smushed it in a napkin and called the waiter over. She said I’m sorry and that she’d throw it away No offer to comp anything No manager visit Nothing I would never recommend this place to anyone. Plus it is pricy for the quality/service.

We only go here maybe two times a year because of the 2 for 1 entertainment coupon that’s available. The 3 star rating is based on that and not the food. The food is marginal at best. We only get the Gabbys greatest platter because it consists of 4 meats to try 2 sides bbq sauce and bread. The meats on your plate consists of brisket(dry) sausage(cheap packaged) pulled pork(not from Carolinas) and pork ribs(over smoked). The one thing I would give an A+ is the potato salad and green beans but who goes to a bbq restaurant for sides? It does have a good family atmosphere and there is a musician on weekend nights hats off to him for trying to sing La Bamba found it entertaining lol. There is also a bar and drive thru. The service here is good we have never had a bad experience here. Do come here for decent priced bbq and a nice atmosphere.

I am a a loyal customer who has been dining here at least three times a week for the past 8 years. I was first introduced to gabby’s by a coworker who would rave about the brisket. I am an experienced bbq eater and i have to say they’re brisket is honestly horrible. hands down driest brisket in texas. When I asked for a manager I was introduced to a nice man who has been they’re ever since, he got me to eat the ribs which i fell in love with and have been a frequent customer ever since. Last night went to order the regular plate which is a combo and the quality of the bbq has dramatically decreased. like they have given up on they’re food. I asked for a manager and was greeted by a young blonde female who seemed extremely unexperienced. she couldn’t answer any of my questions. And all she could say was that she was sorry. The meal was far too dry for my likings and I could not continue anymore the young blonde manager could not offer any compensation.

I was desperate for food, and I saw a Wendy’s. Fast food isn’t my preferred kind of cuisine, but I was starving around 5PM after skipping lunch. I hadn’t eaten since breakfast. As I was about to turn in, I saw this restaurant. It beats Wendy’s right? Wrong. I would’ve been better off at Wendy’s. I ordered the two meat plate and three sides: brisket, sausage, fried okra, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. Here are my thoughts: Brisket: WAY too dry. I cannot stand dry meat. End of story. Sausage: Moist, but not homemade. Extremely fatty. It reminds of the same kind of sausage you buy in the grocery store(the shrink-wrapped kind). Fried okra: Hard. Macaroni and cheese: This was okay but dry. Needed cream cheese and milk. Coleslaw: Tasted rotten, as in, the lettuce was not completely green. Did not eat due to concerns for a stomach upset. I went through the drive-thru, and I was surprised at how fast the food took. This indicates there isn’t much cooking needed — everything seems to be pre-cooked. What a waste of $ 15!

I’ll start with the good. The staff was extremely pleasant. The atmosphere was good. I had a 3-meat dinner with brisket, ribs, and link-sausage. A sides of beans and sweet squash. Service was exceptionally fast and courteous. The sweet squash was far too sweet, I’d be hard to convince there’s not a heap of sugar dumped in it. Not interested in something that sweet aside anything. BBQ beans were decent. Link sausage was pretty good but the other meats left me horribly disappointed. The brisket was like a dry«I think I can cook but can’t» pot luck item. The ribs were tough and grissoly. A saving grace for the two aforementioned items was the house sauce which came on the side… it was fantastic to dip and drown out the poor food quality. If you like anything to actually call beer with your BBQ, you’ll also be epicly disappointed. A selection consisting of the 3 – 4 big production light lagers is all you’ll see. This place was«meh» at best.

I miss their huge baked potatoes they had 20 years ago. They were a minimum of 6″ long, sometimes 9″. It was a meal in itself. That’s when it was self serve — with a bar you placed your tray on(like a cafeteria). Their food is still good, but not as good as it used to be. The ribs are dryer, not quite as juicy. Like others have said, the drive through is okay, but it is slow, especially since most of the food(BBQ) is pre-cooked.

Several in my company were in Pasadena for meetings and stopped by Gabby’s for lunch. We found the service prompt, courteous and orders accurately filled. The warm bread was a nice touch and tasty. Our main courses ranged from the old standby — brisket, to turkey, sausage and ribs. I personally had the brisket and turkey with potato salad and slaw, which was very good. There was only praise and complements from a group of 6 guys. Based on the complete lack of any complaints and lot of compliments, Gabby deserves 4 stars. It was so good we went back for lunch the next day!
