Very good chicken alcopulco and fried pickles. The brownie was cake like but still very good. Would come again if ever in the Pasadena area.

Bla, tasteless food. Very disappointing every time we go; and every time we go we say we won’t go back. Time slips by and we try it again with the same results. Overpriced, but the food tastes like they hired the cook from a fast-food joint.

I’ve gotten takeout from the bar about four times, and the lunch waitresses and hostesses could not be nicer. I’ve gotten the chicken spinach salad a couple of the times, and they put the chicken in a separate takeout container so it doesn’t get the salad all soggy on the drive home. They always open all the containers to make sure the order is right. The lunch specials are really reasonable, and if you’re in the mood for home cooking kind of food, you really can’t go wrong here. I’m glad it’s near my work.

The service was really good. But the food was just average. The ribeye was a very poor cut of meat and the sides confused me. Rice pilaf was Spanish rice with jalapeños and the mushrooms were garlic and onions.

Really good food, fast and friendly service, reasonable prices. Why bother ever eating at home. Their two meal and an appetizer special is a real deal and good. My wife raved about the catfish and I loved the smothered chopped steak.

Me and my family have been dinning here for over 15 years. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and anything else that can be celebrated. The food is great and the service is phenomenal. Prices are on point. Tonight I had the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger $ 9.99 Came with delicious seasoned fries(huge burger). My spouse had the Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and salad. Highly recommended

Recently move to Houston from Dallas and I was anxious to explore the food around the area. Came to Peppers after reading the reviews. We were treated like royalty from the get go. I had the shrimp primavera with garlic Sauce. Delicious even though it was missing a hint of salt Ordered a bottle of wine(Zinfandel) to go with it. Good price.($ 20). Also ordered some fried mushrooms to go with my entrée. Had some complementary bread and butter Over all the experience was good. Service makes a great difference when it comes to dining out. I will defiantly come back, maybe not soon but will.

That’s cause you can’t give a 0:(we had a large party three people didn’t get their meal until 12 had finished eating. Very poor. Don’t ask for bread unless you are prepared to repeat yourself five times. But they did try…

The food is great here but the service tonight was below par. Our waitress is definitely stoned or on some kind of drug and can’t even think straight!

I agree that Pasadena doesn’t has a culinary tradition but this one definitely overcame my expectations. I ate the Beef Medallions with baked potato and seasoned vegetables. I’ll describe it better: — I ordered it medium-well cooked. It came well-cooked, but the waiter was concerned about it and asked me to check if it was the way I liked. Besides I mentioned that in Brazil, usually the medallions comes wrapped with bacon. They promptly asked if I want them to do it in the same way(it was really good btw). — the baked potato could be baked a bit more AND with the cheese already on it(half way), because it was a bit cold. Good though, nothing that ruined it. — the vegetables were the way I expected, and buttered, which I love. The costumer service was just perfect! Really helpful and kind. Nothing to change on this. The meal total was U$ 37,00 for the two of us(including beverages). To sum up, the food was much better than I expected and the place(old 90s style) looks nice and the costumer service was great! Will be back soon!

One of the best priced and quality places around. Every dish I have tried has been great. The salad dressing is home made, chicken fried steak and ribeye are excellent, plus they have the best baked potatoes(cooked perfectly). This is a family diner with great service and food. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy with family, friends, or after church.

This was our first time eating here and we ordered to go. My husband ordered a hamburger and I ordered a steak. Both were cooked perfectly and the order was exactly as we requested, and quick. I was pleased and will definitely be back.

The redfish was fantastic and so were the fried pickles, but the sides were not up to par. The staff are courteous and kind, overall wonderful people. I would give this establishment a second chance if I had the opportunity.

Food is par, service is sub-par. There are a lot of places that are much better for the price.

Pasadena isn’t exactly known for a vibrant culinary scene, so mediocrity in a restaurant is not unexpected. The décor looks left over from the 90s, and not in a kitschy, charming way. The lunch menu is very well-priced, however; a full meal with sides will run just about as much as a Chipotle burrito before tax and tip. I tried the chicken-fried steak, which was quite large and came with a generous serving of mashed potatoes with a choice of either white or brown gravy. The meal was prefaced with some ok rolls. The food wasn’t bad: the breading on the steak was crisp, and the potatoes weren’t dry or lumpy, but the grease to flavor ratio was definitely skewed a little too high. The food overall was probably around standard diner quality, but if I’m going to indulge in such calorically dense food, I’d much prefer that the calories be worth every bite.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Not real busy, we got seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and our food was prepared quickly. I was the only one that didn’t care for my food. I ordered the Gumbo it just didn’t taste good to me. But everything else was delicious. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms(baked) – very good! They discounted the Gumbo which they didn’t need to do, I did eat the shrimp out of it. We will be going back here again, soon!

So it’s the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The restaurant is about half full. We sit down and the hostess asks my wife and me if we would like a drink. We tell her we will start with a glass of water. Our waiter comes hands us the waters and asks of we would like something else to drink as well. I order a saint Arnold’s and before my wife has a chance to order the waiter disappears. And so starts the night of bad service. All night the wait staff was acting as if it was Friday night and the place was full… Though it was far from it. The food was good border lining on great. I ordered a porkchop and it was excellent. The misses ordered the salmon and she expressed how wonderful it was. Maybe I will try this place again when they are at full staff.

Our family seems to love this restaurant for some reason, yet every time we go I’m reminded of why I hate this place. One of the first times we visited it was over a holiday weekend and despite having reservations were left waiting over an hour to be seated. I get it, you overbooked and it happens, but the food should at least be able to make up for it. On a regular day the food is okay. Not the best, but it’s palatable when you’re out with family and hungry. The holiday buffets, on the other hand, are bordering on awful. They never seem to be able to keep up with the demand for food so every time you walk up to the buffet half the items are missing. It would also help if they bothered to label any of the dishes so you know what you’re eating. There aren’t very many choices, which would be fine if they weren’t so bland. The prices are also a bit high for what you receive. I don’t mind paying for quality, but quality is something that is lacking at Peppers. On the plus side, the waitstaff is friendly and generally on top of things. We’ve always had good service even when our party is large. In short, I doubt we’ll ever come back here by choice. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

I’ve been driving past this place for the last year and always wondered what to expect from it. It so happened Groupon had a deal for this place and we decided to give it a try. The 4 star ratings from Unilocal was no lie. I haven’t had outstanding service like this for a very long time and the food was amazing. I’ll start with our waiter. He was very attentive, cleared our plates with each meal, ensured that our food was cooked to the right temperature and checked on us frequently. The décor of the establishment was very homely. The fixtures and dining room area has been well kept for a place that’s been in business 15 years. Everything was clean and our utensils were spotless when they were unraveled from the napkin. The food presentation was beautiful. All of the items we ordered came out freshly made and steaming hot, just the way I like it! We came during lunch and ordered the following: Fried Mushrooms — Golden brown to perfection. There was no piping hot liquid or grease shooting out of each piece and each bite at all! These mushrooms were hand battered evenly. The homemade ranch that accompanied the appetizer was unreal. Just a small dip of it, paired with the mushroom was tantalizing. Beef Stroganoff — This pasta entrée was very consistent with taste and flavor. The beef was very tender and easy to chew and tear off. The pasta itself was not rubbery and easy to bite off with the mixture of beef. Chicken Fried Steak — Don’t get me wrong. I love T-Bone Tom’s(Kemah, TX) Chicken Fried Steak and it was always number one in my book, but Peppers got them beat. Again, it was golden brown to perfection just like the fried mushrooms. It was not over-breaded and left an even texture for taste. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had a choice of fries or mash potatoes and I chose the mash potatoes. The mash potatoes alone did not necessarily need the creamy gravy. It was amazing with the consistent buttery texture. As far as the cream gravy goes. I wish I hadn’t tried it. It was so good, I requested a side of it. I wanted to drink it all… Overall, the food was beyond what I had expected. Considering we came in to dine for lunch, the portions were huge. The price, reasonably cheap. Next time I’m coming in for the steaks and seafood. I’m so glad I gave this place a visit!
