I had gotten my hair done earlier this year somewhere else and it had left me with a choppy blonde ombré look that I disliked. June at this salon helped fix my hair and was very helpful on helping me figure out how to change my hair color! Thank you June

Meli has been my stylist for a few years now, and I love my hair every single time. She styles your hair in a way that will look best for you. Super professional and an expert in hair care.

I’d give 6 if I could. Julianna has been doing my hair, my wife’s and our 5 year olds for the past couple years and we are always happy with the results. Our son calls her his own stylist. The salon itself is fantastic. Great parking. Great staff. Always a pleasure.

Tiffany bernard and her assistant Tiana are awesome! I love the highlights on my hair, it gives my hair so much more subtle dimension; and my haircut is perfect for my hairy (sooo hairy) curly head.

Meli, stylist at Union Salon South, has been doing my hair for the past few years. Today, she had the task of changing my Asian black hair to David Beckham blonde. Although nervous, it turned out to be better than I could ever imagine. I came back 3 weeks later for a lighter color and cut, which looked better than the first time. Can’t wait to see the next transformation (in 3 weeks) from light blonde to platinum white/​grey. Making the drive from Newport Beach to Pasadena every 3 weeks is well worth it. Trust me! Kennie Kurl Doctor Extraordinaire is the BEST! I fly from the Bay Area to have him color and cut my natural hair. He can slay all types of hair as evidenced by his Instagram @hairbykenniejohnson I selfishly would like to keep him to myself (hence the 5 year overdue review), but everyone should be able to have great hair!

Premium Cut and Color by Kennie Johnson was well worth the cost! He listened to my vision and was able to immediately ‘understand’ my hair, asked all the right questions from my last cut to how I style it– he is definitely very skilled and whipped my hair into shape easily while being sweet, relaxed and professional. The salon itself is also a really great space. Top Notch!

How one woman can work magic on my unruly mane with a pair of scissors and a flat iron always amazes me! I’ve got crazy, curly, frizzy, long hair and have always been nervous about finding a hair stylist that I can trust not to make me look like I’ve got a poodle on my head. I was introduced to Vanessa several years ago through a mutual friend and I haven’t looked back ever since! She’s done Brazilian blow outs to my annual haircut and each and every time I leave her chair feeling like perfection! I’ve moved to Valencia, CA, but I’d gladly drive the 40 miles to continue to have her take care of my hair. Ask for Vanessa, you wont regret it!

Meli saves the day! Typical me hair super dark red/​brown… Wanted to go light… Super light with no red… All in one session. Lol
I knew it couldn’t happen but Meli got so much of the red out without making me look like a copper penny. She took hours to work her magic to and and it looks so nice even in my transitional stage! So excited that I found Meli she truly is an amazing colorist and master of her art. OH aaaand I have long hair that I’m always afraid to cut but she graced my locks with such intricate detail and just knew where to cut to get the perfect cut.

I’ve been looking for a new salon and of course I did my research on Unilocal and decided on this one. The online appointment booking was very user friendly and I received a reminder a couple of days prior to my appointment.
There’s a large free parking lot in the back and the entrance was in between the two buildings on the right side and not on the main street. A beverage was offered upon checking in. First impressions of the salon was upscale, relaxed, modern and clean work stations, beautiful high ceilings and friendly receptionists. There’s a place in the salon where they take a before and after photo, which is such a cute and great idea.
Adrienne Reed was my stylist. She was very professional and has had many years of experience. I have not had a cut in over a year and a half and I was ready for a change. I showed her some pictures of what I wanted, which was a long bob and she definitely delivered. She is very attentive and made some recommendations on cut, styling and product use. Adrienne was very precise and took her time. I felt like I was finally in good hands. I love my new look and I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Again, Sally Nguyen did such an amazing job with my hair!!! I always get so many compliments and as much as I’d like to keep Sally a secret, I can’t! :)

First… love the vibe at this old town salon. I met Meli B., and she gave me the great consultation. After, I came in for Blow out and Ombré treatment. Meli spent several hours on my hair and I absolutely LOVE it! Great style and color. Sometimes Unilocal works!!!

I came here a while ago and went from long hair to a long bob! I loved the atmosphere and the interior is beautiful and clean.
Sally was my hair stylist and was super friendly and welcoming. When she was washing my hair, she kind of massaged my head a little and it was literally the BEST WASH EVER.
I actually contacted her to ask for a bit more layers because I didn’t explain myself properly and she was super nice about letting me come in and added lots of layers! She is super nice and definitely caters to her clients’ needs!
I’d definitely recommend Sally!
Cons:
The only issue I had was the price. Compared to a lot of other salons, it was a bit pricer than I would have wished.

After a year of not doing anything to my hair, I decided I needed a change, but my current hairstylist was on maternity leave and I wanted something done soon. So after much searching, I found this gem! I was looking through the stylists and I came across Julianne’s work and reviews and decided to go for it. I texted her and received a response within that day. She was very accommodating and willing to work with my schedule. Before the day of your appointment, someone from the front desk calls to remind you of your appointment, which is very handy for people with busy schedules.
When I arrived, I was in awe of this place! It was modern looking and very put together. I was greeted by the person at the front desk, which she then proceeded to offer me a drink while waiting. It was awesome. Julianne was out within a few moments.
She is amazing! I showed her some pictures of what I was looking for and she would give me honest opinions of what would work with the maintenance I preferred. What I loved the most about Julianne was that she was always checking up on me when my hair was being dyed or heated. And I like that she was upfront about what to expect when washing my hair and the outcome of it in a couple of weeks. She is super sweet and knowledgable about what she’s doing, I would definitely come back to see her :)

She is extremely knowledgable, talented, and to top it off super sweet. I cannot tell you how impressed I am by her work and how amazing it felt to see my hair for the first time after the «big reveal». She literally painted my balayage on! I don’t know a thing about the art of hairdressing however just from watching her technique, I KNEW that I was in the best of hands. Ladies I’m telling you, if you’re needing a hairdresser who knows their stuff, Julianne is our girl.
5 stars to not only Julianne but a big thank you to Stephanie the salon manager for her customer service. Collectively, the two of you have treated me so wonderfully and I truly felt taken care of. I am looking forward to my next appointment…
