We heard such great things about this place, but we ended up with bad service and bad food. I definitely would not recommend it. They were not busy, food on the menu was not available. The female cashier could not help us at all with deciding what bread to choose. The two cashiers apparently did not get along. I could go on and on. Won’t be back. That is why the locals are not crowding in.

I wish the sandwiches were easier to eat. They are yummy and very unique but wouldn’t bring a date to eat with me. That is a shame since the patio is so peaceful. The owner is the best thing about this place. She is very down to earth and makes everyone feel at home.

Amazing deli spot. Highly recommend if you want a great spot to stop and recharge! Get the pulled pork hand down.

Wonderful breakfast spot on the plaza in downtown Paso Robles. Located across the street from the local movie theater, this breakfast and brunch spot reminded me of walking into someone’s backyard patio. The food was excellent, and the manchego chorizo scone had great flavor.

Can’t believe the place was not packed with locals! Visiting from Santa Barbara for the weekend. We need one of these! Great breakfast quesadillas(one is large enough to share) And the best dark roast coffee in town at $ 1 a cup! Super friendly staff, quaint patio, next door is Hotel Cheval. Less than a block off the town square. A real hidden gem, and yet you need to find it! They serve what looks like delicious sandwiches for lunch, too. We were headed back home, so we will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

Haymarket has a beautiful and relaxing courtyard. I had the breakfast quesadilla and absolutely loved it. Next time I’m in Paso Robles definitely coming back to this place!

In town for a friend’s wedding. We woke up hungover and hungry. Stop at a different place down the street from our hotel first, they didn’t seem friendly so decided to keep walking. Came across this place and were instantly greeted by the two women working there. They put together a cute table near the tree for us. Got my puppy work and a treat. And we’re extremely nice. We ordered the quesadilla and haystack breakfast sandwich, omg amazing. The cute patio garden was awesome and relaxing and the food was awesome. I highly recommend it!!!

i love this place. They have the most delicious breakfast sandwiches. And their pulled pork sandwich is to die for. Their buns are always fresh and not stale. i recommend this place to anyone whose looking for a fast breakfast or lunch to go. They have been friendly every time i go there. And wonderful customer service is always a plus :)

My family and I have been visiting Paso Robles for almost 22 years(from Ventura County area) and let me tell you, this was just what Paso needed! This space was previously a cheese shop that was overpriced and had little ambiance — i.e. not much reason to venture down this way toward Hotel Cheval. However, when we saw that Haymarket had opened we decided to give it a try(probably a year or so ago) and let me tell you, we are absolutely hooked. After seeing some of the better restaurants in Paso dwindle in terms of quality, service and options, this is a total breath of fresh air. They have a wonderful patio area where you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day, while sipping on your beverage of choice and eating one of their specialty sandwiches. Last time we went a few months ago, they had a pulled pork sandwich on their specials for the day, and I am a huge fan of pulled pork, but am often disappointed when I try it at various places. The sandwich at Haymarket was one of the best i’ve ever had — not to mention the amazing homemade pickles they give you on the side. And if you don’t eat yourself into oblivion with all of that, try to save room for one of their delicious dessert offerings that are on display right as you walk in. Definitely one of our favorite new stops in town!

Would of been four stars but the waitress was rude and spoke very pretentious! I think the food was fine but not reasonable priced. Quesadilla tasted good

Haymarket works extremely well as an open-air eating out spot, for that 11am moment when breakfast as well as lunch are equally possible. Its patio seating area is eminently appealing and invites one to linger, to laugh, to listen to the sounds of water and glint of sunlight filtering through the trees and umbrellas. Order at the counter, take a seat, receive your food, and enjoy. The baked goods — like the scones — are excellent and can be ordered alone or as part of egg-based sandwiches with greens, cheese, and(if desired) sausage. Daily specials — lavender-scented cheeses melted into fresh focaccia, for example — add to the small plate options. Eating out doesn’t have to me filling up, or bulging the belt. Why eat too much when you can eat right instead? And a little bit of peace and quiet goes a long way when traveling to parts unknown. Haymarket allows one to enjoy small bites in a serene and airy setting. It feels like a neighbor’s backyard patio, you know: that friend who is a skilled organic gardener and foodie who also hikes and practices Bikram yoga. It’s like renting a perfect patio for a hour or so, a great way to spend that in-between time after morning coffee and farmers marketing, but before an afternoon hike or wine tasting(nearby Bodegas Paso Robles, a few blocks away across the town square, is a particularly nice option). While downtown Paso has a fair bit of cute spots around, Haymarket definitely deserves a seat at that table. For $ 15 or less(sandwich, drink), it’s a great American road trip adventure meal for the locavore-minded.

Awesome service and food! Had the veggie sandwich. Veggies with goat cheese. I had it on French bread. So good! The cashier, who I felt was the manager, was very kind and helpful. She used a tablet to take my order and I was able to email my receipt to myself. I asked her about wifi and an outlet for my computer and she provided both. I was able to eat my sandwich with complimentary strawberry water and use my computer without being disturbed. Best of all, the atmosphere is so soothing there! I would definitely go back :)

Lovely little deli right next to the park in Paso. The patio is super sweet with yellow umbrellas and a water feature. Very relaxing and everything is made in house or locally. I hear the coffee is good here but I’m not a coffee drinker. The veggie sandwich is good. Classic California cuisine with chèvre, portobello and fresh greens. I’d come back for breakfast. :)

Sandwiches are out of this world. The cappuccino needs work though and they don’t open until 9am which is kind of late to get coffee #amirite? It’s a lovely and friendly place though. Great to grab sandwiches for a winery picnic. Everyone who waited on us was super friendly and helpful. We went three times in 2 days because it is super convenient to Hotel Cheval.

PROS: Friendly employees. Great tasting food. Excellent location in town. Comfortable patio dining area. CONS: Painfully slow food order and checkout system. Some items on menu board not actually available.

Well I have had the chicken sandwich, the pork tenderloin, the cheese plate, and the roast beef. Absolutely scrumptious. The atmosphere is tranquil, the food is amazing and this is a great place to get a wine country picnic basket to go!

Well the Haymarket is a new find for me. Small deli inside it has quite a gourmet menu 10 bucks get you how much chips and some homemade pickles cool. I had the vegetarian sandwich on a ciabatta roll. Very nice very nice indeed. The sauce with the lettuce with the mushrooms just very very nice. Filling too. The menu choices look like this could be a new goto choice for my honey and I. Wow. I love new places.

Plain dry sandwich and a bag of chips? No choice of sides and the menu is very petite. My wife had the chicken sandwich. The chicken was so dry she could barely eat it if it were not for the flavored mayo they spread on to give it some moisture. I had the roast beef which was cut thick and dry as well. A little bit of lettuce and a paper thin tomato were added but didn’t help much. No cheese? Nothing creative here when it comes to food but the patio is nice.

Quaint little gourmet food store by Hotel Cheval. Apparently they have an amazing tangelo jam cake that sells out quick(oops, the secret’s out!!), We didn’t get to try it, but we did get an orchid vanilla macaroon ice cream sandwich, which was like nothing I’d ever tasted before. Not to mention the staff were also super friendly and walked us through the store since it was our first time there. They also have a varied selection of pre-made sandwiches, salads, deli meats, cheeses, jams, and other desserts/cookies. Most of their food products are purchased from other small /local businesses such as We Olive(olive oil). They’ll be stocking adult beverages too soon enough. Great for breakfast or lunch. Really liked their outdoor patio seating with umbrella shade. Great for a warm sunny day(i.e. most days in Paso)! Definitely check it out!
