I went there once… Did not like my torta of chicken! Waitres was very friendly. Experience with an other employee there was no so friendly… Decided to go back cause I love my own food(I’m mexican). Same employee(bad one) from before! Took my order(not the waitress from my first time)… Guy was arrogant and unfriendly. Tacos expensive for what they were worth(but different story). Waitress check with me twice to see if I needed something(great assest for the place)… When I was walking out I was expecting at least the bad employee to thank me at least for the visit… I told my story to someone I know who has ben there before. It turned out the bad employee who I was writing about it turned out it was the owner!!! Holly .t! I felt bad for the waitress… Never going back… In order for a mexican Dish to be authentic, At least the owner has to have authenticity towards people!

People move to CA for delicious, locally owned, taquerias like Taco Roco. They serve their lunch/dinner menu even at breakfast. They also accommodated our gluten free and vegan requests… No easy task. The service was friendly and the chips and salsa bar were fresh. If I lived in Paso Robles, I’d be here once a week. Eat Here!

I am updating this review because yes, the food is still okay, but do not order the grilled chicken salad, which is greasier than a deep fried taco, not a healthy alternative at all. Also, the last couple of times I have been here, I feel rushed to place my order and rushed to finish my meal. And though I do accept their higher-than-normal prices, I am disappointed in their charging for chips and salsa, and yes, I can afford their meal prices and the extra 50 cents for them, but it’s the principle. I will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon, unfortunately.

This place is pretty good and its local. the portions are nice but they did forget some of our food, that’s why I docked them 1 star.

I just walked in to order a steak burrito to go I asked for sour cream and cheese it was 10.99 $$. They should’ve just charge me for a bean burrito because that’s all it was, huge burrito with a little bit of meat barely any cheese huge chunks of onions and lots of beans very disappointed.

Went in with my family of 6 and ordered food. The cashier gave us a good deal on drinks because he saw the size of my family. Everyone was happy and the staff was very helpful. The ‘best’ steak burrito in SLO in my opinion and it is the same at all the locations I have tried so far. Yum! Good times.

The food is fairly authentic, and the portions are good sized. The place is busy, which is probably a good sign.

They make homemade corn and flour tortillas. Best crunchy tacos around. I live the chicken, made with white meat. They have a fresh salsa bar, I like 5he orange salsa best. Very hot, but such great flavor. They have a red, green, and a normal salsa with big chunks of tomato and cilantro. On taco Tuesday you can get lots of taco meats.

The food was okay. Not a place I would normally pick — but it was my son’s turn to pick and all he wanted was nachos! The nachos were just fair. Not the best atmosphere — A little like fast food — but a restaurant with restaurant prices. It got crowded as we were leaving because it was a Tuesday — and I guess they have a pretty good special on «Taco Tuesday?!».They were nice.

Maybe that’s how you guys do it in Paso but every time I’ve EVER ordered carne asada(not carne asada burrito) anywhere in the world, I’ve always been served a piece of steak, you know, they let you cut it up yourself and NOT how you guys are serving it. Besides that, food was tasty. Restaurant was clean. Service acceptable.

This place pisses me off because they don’t do chilaquiles. They are very cavalier about not being«the same» as the Taco Roco in San Luis. I’m actually glad that they are not affiliated, so when I spend my money on those awesome chilaquiles at Taco Roco on Broad St. in SLO, they won’t benefit from it. And no, the food is NOT authentic, they don’t even have cotija cheese in the whole place. Newsflash: en México, no usan el queso anaranjado…

I dig this place. It’s a walk-up counter, then they bring the food to the table. Very casual, fast-food vibe, but the food quality is that of a sit-down place. Friendly, efficient, quick service. My mom is a regular and they take good care of here there. The salsa is FANTASTIC. As are the rice & beans. I has a wet burrito, chips, salsa, guacamole… It was all the bomb. Seriously, I could drink their mild salsa because it is so delicious. And you get a bang for your buck… Very affordable, and huge portions. I got two meals and a snack out of my order.

One star only because 0 isn’t an option. We live down the street and came frequently. Decided to come in and had horrible customer service!!! Staff argued with myself and then with my husband. As far as the food goes, I ordered nachos and, I’m not kidding, 5 chips had cheese on them. We also asked for no onions and they either ignored our wish or they didn’t pay attention. WEDEFINITELYWONTBEBACK. Sad to say.

This is a great little place! So far our favorite dish is the carnitas, I’m quite picky about mexican food, and this is the best tasting carnitas I’ve had since moving here from Colorado. The meat is tender and well seasoned, the refried beans are always fresh. I’ve had their steak fajitas, which were just okay. The meat was a little tough, but still good, just not great.

Solid– if you order the right items. The good: chicken soup, carnitas, lengua & al pastor soft tacos. The bad: chicken burrito, grilled fish taco. Chile relleno is OK when you peel off half the weird breading. Service is fine. I use salsa verde, lime and raw onions on most things to pep it up. I’m scared to order horchata or the wine margaritas. Maybe I’ll take a chance.

For starters, their menu is a little hard to figure out. They have some basic things categorized(tacos, burritos, combination plates, etc) but then they also have all these starburst drawings with other things in them, and the items in the starburst drawings don’t really relate to the main category they’re next to! It was very confusing. I couldn’t even spot a basic order of rolled tacos! I just wanted to go in and order a pollo asado burrito but I couldn’t easily figure out their menu, so I just got the nachos supreme instead(with carnitas). The food came out very quick which was nice, but after watching several seasons of Kitchen Nightmares with Chef Ramsay I know that food served quickly isn’t always a good thing, and it really makes me wonder just how fresh the food is here. I mean, it came out fast! My nachos supreme was okay. Nothing amazing. I felt like the carnitas tasted somewhat decent so I was okay with that part. But the jalapeños seemed lackluster(probably from a can/jar) and they used freakin cheese SAUCE instead of real cheddar. When I saw and tasted that it took me back to my little league days when we’d get those nasty ghetto nachos from the snack bar! Cheese sauce is downright disgusting, all day every day, no matter where it’s served or what it’s served on. Yuck! Vomit! Puke! Gag! Barf! The salsa at the salsa bar was decent and of course the Coke was good(the best part of the meal). I’m very happy that I’m not writing this review while sitting on the toilet with THERUNS but even still, I will not be eating here again. .

I just wasn’t a fan. :( We stopped by here during a recent trip to the Paso area. I’ll be moving to the area soon so I wanted to seek out some good Mexican food spots. This will not make the cut. My boyfriend and I each got an order of nachos. He got chicken and I got steak. They were just nothing to write home about. The steak was not very tasty itself. It seemed old and slightly rubbery. My boyfriend was just as unenthusiastic about his chicken. The horchata here was from an «Olé» machine. So you can imagine my disappointment. I’m used to legit horchata, and this was just not good. I even opted for diet coke for a refill. So sad. :( The food deserves 2 stars but the customer service was pretty good. They were friendly and helpful.
