I still plan on going to try this place, but was highly disappointed. I came on a Sunday. The sign in the window says their open 2pm-4am on Sunday’s yet when I got there around 6pm the restaurant was all locked up. The Facebook page also says their open on Sunday’s. They should really change their sign. I wasted my time going there yesterday.

I don’t normally write or read reviews because everyone has different likes/opinions. Being fairly new to Patchogue, I figured I would check out some of the reviews on the places I have visited. Happily, two years after some nasty posts, Bella Vino, owned by a woman alone, is still going strong after 8 yrs! The food is creative and a refreshing change to «pub» food. The staff was attentive & friendly and although the music did vary at times, you cannot prohibit what music people choose to play on the juke box. I like the basement where the bathroom is and a couch if you feel inclined to step away from people for a few minutes. I work in customer service and although no one should ever be rude, I can tell you first hand that people who buy groupons don’t even tip 10% most of the time, regardless of the service. VERY Sad that they are the people writing most of the reviews. In addition, Every bar I have been to in Patchogue charges 8 – 10 for a glass of wine & $ 9 for one shot in a mixed drink. The pricing is fair and I don’t know where you can get a martini, in a VILLAGE for under $ 10.00. Welcome to the 21st Century! I have been to plenty of places that I will not revisit, but I find it sad that people who have nothing nice to say, say it anyway. Great job Bella Vino at standing out, in a very good way, from the crowd!

I’ll quote another Unilocaler when I say: this bar has an identity crisis. Small, dark, intimate, classy exterior… with a pop DJ, disco lights, and funky décor. We went with a groupon for martinis and s’mores dips. The girls were very very nice. Very nice. But service was so slow and it didn’t seem like the girls knew what they were doing. Martinis were good, but without the groupon they were $ 10. Expensive, but I thought it was to be expected.

This«wine» bar has an identity crisis. It doesn’t know if it wants to be a wine bar or a regular bar. The wine: There are no wines of any value on the menu. The only wine that is «drinkable» is the cupcake… but not at $ 9 a glass. You need a better selection to command the prices you want or lower the wine prices for your current selection. The food: We got a cheese platter and it was excellent. There was a wide variety and the cheese tasted fresh. This is worth getting. The service: This is where Bella Vino picks up there second star. The service was actually really good. The waitress was attentive and we never felt like we were ignored. There was a mixup in our bill but it was resolved. The atmosphere: This is where this place goes downhill very very quickly. First, it’s a Saturday night and the only people there are us and a drunk couple dancing at the bar. Bad sign. Second, the music from the jukebox thing is so loud and completely dive bar like, that you can’t have a conversation from 1 foot away. To make matters worse, a dj came(who honestly was a good dj but completely out of place) who started blasting music and now had disco lights going. Is this a wine bar or a rager? It was all just too weird. Conclusion: There is no reason to come to this place. I’m sorry to say this but this place will not survive past the year. I get the feeling like Bella Vino is trying or tried to be like Crazy Beans but has completely failed. We will not return.

Food is amazing. Bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nice cozy place with great live music on weekends. By far my favorite bar in patchogue!

One of the cutest places I’ve been to on Long Island. This place started out as a wine bar but has expanded to a full bar. I’ve had two private parties here and have also been here for psychic night and karaōke. A rare gem in the heart of Patchogue. The owner is a doll! The bartenders are fun and sweet. They also have some appetizers and are willing to go out of their way to make sure you’re happy. The wine selection is extensive and the martinis are fun and exotic. If you’re looking to do a small party for 30 – 50 people, this place is amazing. I had entrees brought in from a local Italian place and they even cleaned up. Also if you want to go out for a drink with friends or to meet someone for a first date, the ambiance is fantastic. If the conversation drags with your companion, they even have board games to keep you entertained. The only thing missing from this place is a piano and a guy named Sam… but I’m sure that will be happening one day :)

My boyfriend and I bought the living social for a cheese board and two glasses of wine. The wine was good and the cheese was good but the cheese came with like no pairings and they did not explain to us which cheese was which. Then we ordered the disco fries and the spinach dip. My boyfriend liked the disco fries, I was not thrilled with the spinach dip at all. We might have ordered more however the menu was so expense nothing seemed worth it. Overall not thrilled.

Went to this place for the first time for fondue. We had a deal so the price we paid was ok but I would never pay full price here(way overpriced for what it was.) There are many better places around to get fondue. I got a glass of white wine which wasn’t that good at all. Very tiny place which is fine, but it was also very dark where we were seated. The server was very polite but the overall service was just ok and it took forever to get the check.

I’ve been here a few times. For a wine bar, the wine isn’t good. The last time I was there, they ran out of Pinot noir and poured me a red out of a magnum bottle. The service is very friendly, but if they want to compete with the new restaurants and wine bars opening in the area, they are going to have to step up their game.

Friendly Staff with bubbly outgoing personality, ambiance has a very unique sports bar meets hipster vibe. Beautiful live music. Fondu was just enough for two with out pushing it to the limit & feeling over whelmed.

My husband and I received a groupon as a gift for 2 glasses of wine and a fondue. We decided we would go order few small apps and some extra wine. We sat down and the wait staff was friendly but didn’t give us a chance to look at menu. We order glass of Wine and then some food. While waiting we played UNO. Our apps came out and within a few seconds of taking a bite of our food they asked us if we would switch tables because they had 4 people come in and our table could accommodate them. So without making a scene we agreed and moved over to a two seating table while carrying our wine and food. One of the other servers came over and apologized for the girl asking us to move and claimed she was new. I understand needing the table but it was very unprofessional. She told us she would buy us another glass of wine. When she came back she only had 1 free glass as she could not do two(after saying she would). We waited forever for the pretzel with cheese and then the dipping cheese was cold. The server came over and said the other girl never heated it up! We got our chocolate fondue from our groupon. I would not pay $ 32 for that fondue ! So our bill came out all wrong ! They charged us for all the wine the one they bought back the 2 that were part of groupon as well as the fondue. I had to go and have them correct it. Even in the end. We paid for 1 glass of wine. 2 very small apps and a pretzel. And it was $ 55 plus a tip ! Thank god we has games to play … Otherwise I would have noticed we were there for 3 hours!

I hate to have to write this review, because I so badly wanted to Love Bella Vino but was left very disappointed. A few of us went for my friend’s birthday. She had wanted wine and yummy little appetizers. She didn’t have any complaints about the wine. I drank beer so I don’t have comments on the wine selection. We had ordered a $ 32 cheese fondue. $ 32?! For a fondue. Seemed pricey but we went with it regardless. 45 minutes later. YES, 45 minutes when we were the only group in the bar was EXTREME. When the fondue came, it tasted good however the things to dip in it were not that good. Pretzel = stale, carrots = ok, broccoli = some was yellow not green, tator tots = good. Not impressed for $ 32ATALL. Our group also ordered nachos which after 30 minutes of ordering we had to ask where it was. And we ordered spinach artichoke dip which came with carrots and cucumbers but was a SMALL portion of SpinDip. I had paid for 5 beers as well — none were bought back by the bar. All in all it was $ 70+ bill for the fondue and 5 beers. Not worth it. I will note this; the birthday girl got a flight of 3 martinis for $ 16. She loved every single one and the portions were great. Maybe they should consider turning into a martini bar as that was the best part!

This is strictly for their martini’s. They were great, but they dirty martini had the saddest looking olives we’ve ever seen!

Lame wine selection. Horrible service. Their website has a review from a local paper saying it’s a «Soho type wine bar»… ummm I think not. Its a dark hole in the wall with blah décor. Bathrooms are in the basement/dungeon. The worst part of the experience was the heavy metal music playing loudly on the jukebox. Not exactly wine bar type music. With all the competetion in Patchogue, I don’t see this place lasting very long.

This place was the absolute worst experience in terms of service that I have ever encountered. My husband and I went there on a Thursday night, utilizing a Groupon deal for 2 glasses of wine and cheese fondue. There were two servers/bartenders and I swear, they were also cooking food in the kitchen. They would disappear into the kitchen for 10 – 15 minutes or more. All in all, it took us almost 2 hours to get out of this place(again, all we had was fondue and 2 glasses of wine). This was the first time that I almost walked on out a check… they ended up just telling us to go(we were standing up in our coats for a good 10 minutes trying to get out of there) b/c they couldn’t track down the server who had taken our voucher. In summary, I really wanted to like this place. The ambience was nice, food was decent, etc. but the service was so ridiculously awful that we will never return.

Very tiny Inside. Very little to look at. Bathroom is down in basement… Not to comforting to walk down basement stairs after a few glasses of wine! Food is good BUT way over priced And takes forever to be served. I went two nights in a row back to back. First with my husband and then with my girlfriends. I ordered the same exact thing(cheese platter for two) and it was completely different the second time. Which is disappointing because I enjoyed it the first night. Servers could be friendlier!

3 stars, and here’s why. Service is not up to par, food is good. My best friend and I went on two different occasions because we like to sometimes get away from the big crowds of Patchogue and just have some cocktails alone. When we sat down and started looking at the menu, we essentially began drooling. Gorgonzola cheese topped with honey, warm pita with hummus, chocolate and cheese fondue, etc. We decided on getting the nachos(not great not terrible) and the apple and brie quesadilla, which was INCREDIBLE. It was served with some balsamic vinaigrette and some additional crackers and brie. We were in heaven and eating so slow because we didn’t want it to end! During our second visit we ordered the cheese fondue. While devouring this, the burner turned off on the fondue pot and I went over to the already inattentive waitress and asked her to fix it. She said okay. I returned to my table and we waited for a good five to seven minutes minutes, she didn’t come over to help. Finally, I got so annoyed that I physically brought her the fondue pot and handed it to her to relight it. Furthermore, the servers are also bartenders, and on the two separate occasions we went, we had separate bartenders. We ordered the same cocktail, and the cocktail was brought to us as completely different drinks both times. The first time the cocktail I ordered was a green shade, brought to me in a martini glass, the second time, it was given to me in a regular Collins glass, orange-colored, on the rocks. I do also like the fact that they have board games for people to enjoy while having a drink and waiting for their food. The live music during our first visit was also great! The singer was interactive and played good tunes, such as John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. My return is going to depend on me finding a similar restaurant in a convenient location, with better service(which should not be an issue ATALL).

This is a cozy little place tucked right off of Main St. in Patchogue. The cocktail list was unique, and the menu an eclectic display of snacks. They also have board games and cards, and the décor is dark yet pleasant. Now, the main issue here is the service, which is keeping me from providing 4 or 5 stars. On the two separate occasions I went, I had two different servers. Neither were knowledgeable about the cocktail menu, and the service was also quite slow. When we ordered fondue, the burner was off, and the waitress did not check on us once throughout our meal. We had to physically bring her the fondue pot, and ask her to relight it. Such a hassle! This place has great potential, but their staff is colder than the iced cocktails they serve. I will continue to return, but only because this place is close to home, and their brie and apple quesadilla was decadent.

This place is a sigh of relief for the obnoxious Patchogue bar scene. It’s quiet and cozy, with dim lighting and a touch of class. I had homemade pesto(made by the bartender’s mom!) and it’s probably the best I’ve ever had. The bartender was really kind and helpful, giving us tastings and recommendations on the wine. I will admit it’s a little on the pricey side and the wine is good, but expect 7 – 9 bucks a glass. They have board games and a jukebox, with complimentary popcorn and chips. A great place to bring a date, have a quiet night out, or chillout solo with a book. I am totally making this my local establishment. Thanks Shannon for making our night awesome!
